Was a beautiful place to stay for the weekend. Definitely worth the visit!

This spacious home is in a beautiful and quiet location, and it's a quick drive to Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Park. There are also lots of fun activities in the home! Our only critique is the overpowering air freshener smell that was in every room, which is challenging for people with smell sensitivities. But overall, a gem!

Had a fantastic stay- our focus was hiking at Starved Rock and it was perfect for that. We’re thinking of a summer trip to kayak now as well. The townhouse is very cozy and the dining table was great for playing games with the family. Beds are comfortable and rooms are large. Our kid was excited to use the big jacuzzi tub for bath time. Plenty of counter space to cook together. Recommend bringing foil or plastic wrap as there is none available. Will need to have all ingredients on hand- there are no supplies left from previous guests with things like oil/Pam. Big grocery options are just a short drive away though. For those with electric cars, the Flying J has good level 2 chargers-not as fast as described in listings though. Saw Tesla chargers at the HyVee as well.

Fun stay! My boys loved the games. The location was perfect for getting to the state parks. It was quiet during the week we were there, but I hear the little town nearby has lots of festivals and such. We did not go to the Lodge for the waterpark or mini golf, but will inquire next time. We were able to run around the villas and get some exercise without traffic. Pretty well stocked with everyday items in the kitchen. Bring your toiletries with you. We would like to stay again and recommend this place.

WOW ! Deer Run Lodge, what a Gem! The Hosts; Miriam & Kenneth really thought of everything when creating this space! The kitchen is stocked with just about anything you could possibly need. Everything was EXCEPTIONALLY clean and well kept. A perfect mix of cozy to modern- you’ll feel right at home the moment you walk in the door! I wish I took a few minutes at arrival to check out the House rules booklet. Even Though the hosts were incredibly responsive, there is an explanation or “how to” QR code for just about everything right at your fingertips! The exterior of the home is equally equipped and well kept! The HotTub was set up and ready for use upon arrival! Whether your visiting Deer Run Lodge in the winter, spring or summer this property has just about anything you’ll want or need to enjoy your stay!! Thank you Miriam & Kenneth for helping me make my daughter’s birthday one she’ll never forget!

I travelled to Utica for an extended work trip and stayed 7 weeks at Tricia's cabin. I had a great time and was very satisfied with everything. I especially liked the kitchen which is very spacious and perfectly equipped. It is a quiet place in a beautiful location, right next to Starved Rock state park. Tricia is a great host and communicated clearly. I would return anytime and wholeheartedly recommend her place to everyone

This place was just wonderful, all the amenities of being at home. Nice and peaceful place to stay in Utica, IL.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin is very close to the trails. Jacuzzi in the cabin definitely helped with sore legs after long hiking. The cabin was great! Jacuzzi, fireplaces, comfortable beds made our stay super relaxing. Highly recommend. Tip: if you plan to go to the waterpark, which is walking distance from the cabin, buy your passes ahead of time. They had full capacity during our stay.

This place was amazing and it was just getting ready for the change of seasons so the outside continued to get beautiful each day we were there. We saw deer every day and staff was very responsive. You get everything in the idea of a rustic stay but with modernized touches. Highly recommend seeing it for yourself.

This was a perfect place for a quick getaway before the holiday craziness starts at work. Cute place, clean, great location and peaceful atmosphere. Quick drive to town. Parking was easy at the location. Really was happy that it’s pet friendly, my dog Jordan loved walking around the property. The decoration for Christmas is super cute. In all this place has become one of my favorite places for a little quick getaway. Definitely going back!

This place was great. There isn’t much around here to do, especially in the winter, but we were looking to mostly disconnect from the outside world for a week and this was great for that. Aside from laundry there is really is everything you need to live here full time including a fully stocked kitchen with various helpful appliances like a crock pot and toaster stashed away but accessible. Perfect for a few days or a full week! It was a little dusty in some spots but otherwise clean and well kept. Had a great time. Hoping to come back when the weather is warmer and take advantage of the lake!

The amount of peace I experienced by staying at postcard cabins is priceless!! I’m ready to make this a yearly thing (if I could make it a monthly thing I would). Amazing views & friendly staff.

2024 was a challenging year so my partner and I decided to take our dog and disconnect from the city and surroundings on New Year’s Eve. Samuel was more than proactive in giving concise direction on location, access, and alternative options if the clay grounds were too soaked to drive on. The space was beautifully maintained and it had me looking into regenerative farming. Although the stay was quite brief, I would be more than glad to come visit the space and check out the farmstead if ever feasible. Thank you to the hands who prepared the space and gave us an outlet to bring in the New Year amongst a different setting.
