We loved staying in Mai’s beautiful guest house and sharing meals and conversations with her sister, Hien. Hien embodies benevolence and is a skilled chef and barista. Hien coordinated several taxis and cooked the best food we ate during our time in and around Sapa. Sadly, we didn’t get to meet Mai and her family in person but Mai was still very supportive coordinating a motorbike rental and checking in on us from afar. If we stayed longer, we would have loved to also get to know Sô (sp?), the Hmong maid, and hear her perspectives. We connected with other homestay guests during some of the shared meals and in passing. The home and garden are tranquil and inspiring (organic architecture). We loved eating fresh produce from the garden and being able to practice some spring roll assembly. Meow-Meow the kitten was hilarious as sidekick and Bo (sp?) dog is a chiller. The location is perfect—nestled among the breathtaking mountains, offering stunning panoramic views right from the balcony. Waking up to the misty hills and fresh mountain air was an unforgettable experience. Super environnement, la nature est incroyable et les hôtes sont chaleureux et toujours à l’écoute. C’est un endroit qui en vaut la peine si on aime la nature, les animaux et se balader. Les alentours valent la peine d’être visiter et de surtout s’y perdre en scooter (pas cher et le meilleur paysage) !!! Je recommande!

Worth every penny and more. This is a beautiful sanctuary for a night or two if you’re heading to do the loop. We felt right at home thanks to the sweetest host. Enjoyed lazing in the hammock, riding the bikes into town and exploring the waterfalls and swimming holes on our own before coming back to a delicious dinner and homemade happy wine with great company. I stayed here after my sister had stayed here years ago. Highly recommend if you want to enjoy a home stay experience :)
