Lisa & Antony were really lovely and welcoming. Thank you for the beach and hiking tips! The accommodation was quaint, and had a certain romance to it. It was easy to find, clean and comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Lisa and Anthony. They are very welcoming and their place has a great, homely feel. The surrounding nature is very relaxing and is close to Waipu. Mangawhai is a short 15 minute drive. The accommodation was also well priced. We would recommend staying here if you are looking for that traditional homestead feel with welcoming hosts.

Jennie’s place is set in a beautiful garden with a rural feel yet you are able to walk into town in a few minutes. Both Jennie and her husband are very friendly and responsive to any need you might have. The place is comfortable and has its own entrance. We felt very welcomed there and the provided breakfast was above all our expectations! And, they gave us a ride to the airport, too! Would not hesitate to stay there again!

We had an absolutely gorgeous stay at this property. I wish we were there for more than one night! The hosts were so friendly and we were blown away by the beautiful surroundings and comfort of our cottage. Everything was perfectly clean and we felt right at home. The views, especially from the shared pool and spa area are unbeatable. We also loved feeding the sheep who live on the property! I highly recommend booking as it was one of the highlights of our 3-weeks in New Zealand.

We had a wonderful stay - Ross and Penny were such thoughtful and generous hosts who really went the extra mile. Spotlessly clean and beautiful home, everything you could need in the comfy rooms including lovely special touches, and the breakfast spread was fabulous. A beautiful home set in the most gorgeous, peaceful location. We requested to book very last minute which Lisa kindly accepted so that we could have a night of luxury before our flight home. Lisa & Anthony were both so friendly and hospitable. Our suite was immaculate, amazing soft sheets and a big bath. The breakfast was so thoughtful with homemade marmalade, fresh fruit, muesli and croissants. We loved being able to chat to other guests with a glass of wine and getting to know our hosts. Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back.

We were after a place for some rest and relaxation and we found the Mangawhai lodge to be just that. Although it rained the 3 days we were there the room, the view felt super cosy. We spent quite some time reading, watching tv or just listening to the rain. The veranda overlooking the waterways was perfect. Jeanette was friendly and very accommodating. Thank you for hosting us.

Very special place in the middle of the forest. Exhuberant vegetation, vegetables and fruits ready to harvest. Kind company always ready to help. Authentic vintage atmosphere. Three hens, one ruster and five friendly dogs (usually only two small ones). Don't miss it !

This was the second time we’ve stayed with Deb. The Garden Suite both times. The bedroom has French doors that open on to an exquisite private garden. The bedroom is firm and comfortable. A hallway with a couple steps takes you into your own kitchen/sitting room which is supplied and furnished to complement the historic building. Deb is a welcoming host who provided homemade bread, jams and fresh eggs for breakfast. Enchanting place. So glad we had the opportunity to stay again.

Worth spending three nights here. Very welcoming and helpful. Gave me very good tips for the daily activities and what to see. But mostly important I felt like at home. I hope to come back one day. I huge recommend it❤️

We stayed with Al and Murray for 5 nights and they were just absolutely lovely. We were not there as tourists but to sort out a personal storage unit after losing our sailing boat in the pandemic. Al and Murray provided a home from home for us during this difficult week. The spa is fabulous and extremely relaxing. The pool is spotless. The room is comfy, spacious and airy and the bathroom / shower huge, pristine and well-appointed. We could use the kitchen as needed and the breakfast was excellent. If I could give these guys 6 stars I would. Thank you and we hope to see you in Europe one day.

Wij hadden een fantastisch verblijf in de lodge van Victoria and Damian! Na een aantal weken in een campervan te hebben gereisd waren we toe aan rust, een fijn bed en comfort. Dit vonden we allemaal in deze lodge. Fijne faciliteiten, alles ziet er superschoon en mooi ingericht uit, en het is een hele rustige omgeving met een mooi uitzicht. Ontzettend bedankt Victoria en Damian!

Great stay. Super peaceful and relaxing. Very quiet area, was easy to find and lovely hosts. Good amenities for what we needed and a couple of local places to explore for dinner :) thanks for a great stay, would definitely stay again!

Highly recommend. Carolyn and her family are so helpful kind and welcoming. The place was perfect for our needs on our short holiday. They treated our kids like part of the family. We spent alot of time with the horses, Carolyn was so patient and helpful teaching our kids to ride for the first time. The pool was great being inside right on the doorstep of the rooms it didnt matter what the weather was doing. Location is peaceful and quiet but close enough to the beaches nearby. Very helpful instructions to find the place, Everything was perfectly clean and tidy upon arrival. Thanks Carolyn, Grant and Phoebe!

We felt immediately at home in Kim’s beautiful place. We were warmly welcomed by Kim and Finny and shown to our fabulous room, bathroom and lounge and invited to use the lovely pool or relax on the deck with some nibbles and drinks. We were blown away by the absolute beauty of the property and surrounds and Kim’s hospitality. Loved everything about our stay at Kahu Retreat and very highly recommend it to others. A hidden gem and well worth the drive there

Gayle ist eine tolle, großzügige und sehr freundliche Gastgeberin. Die Räume sind sehr schön, außerdem eine tolle Terrasse mit fantastischer Aussicht und eine großartige Küche! Das Haus ist ein Art Deco Traum. Wir kommen gern wieder!
