I've stayed in a number of places around the Athens area, but this property set the absolute gold standard. The host was incredibly responsive and professional at every turn. The property is beautiful and the home is stacked with amenities. Highly recommend!

Stopped in Chillicothe for a short family trip and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was a mix unique, cozy and comfortable, and boho chic. We loved chilling inside during the rain and playing games in the ambient lighting. The hot tub, basketball court, and s’more’s package were all a hit. We also enjoyed visiting downtown Chillicothe stopping in some local shops such as Grandpa Joe’s, Wheatberry Bookstore, Paper City Coffee, The Coop, and 50 West Brewery. We also visited Buzzard’s Roost and hiked the Lookout trail to the south point for a beautiful view. All in all a fun trip for everyone with a good mix of things to do and a great place to stay.

We could not have asked for a better Air b&b for our weekend getaway. The hosts were amazing and provided a slideshow with their favorite restaurants and attractions, and the place itself was a dream. Would absolutely book here again!

We really loved this place! We were looking for something outside of cities just as a getaway spot as we were going to the Mothman Festival, and we couldn't stop talking about how much we loved it there. Ruth and her husband were incredibly kind and responsive to things, despite having almost no issues (only thing was a dead door battery but that's not their fault.) Highly recommend, and we plan to be back!

The cabin was secluded and so peaceful! Everything was as it was described to us! We had everything we needed to stay! Would definitely book this cabin again!

Great location close to Ohio University campus. House is spacious, clean, and has everything needed for a family or group. We enjoyed the hot tub and would have used the fire out had it not been so cold.

Great, Private place. Beautiful surroundings and a nice porch to enjoy the view. The home is very nice. The wifi worked really good. When the propane ran out during our stay, they were fast to resolve the issue. Without a doubt, would sstay again

The cabin was what we needed for the weekend. We were in town for an ultra marathon and were able to rest easy before and after. The cabin was next to two other cabins and an event center. The host described the cabin perfectly. The bed was comfortable.

This cabin was absolutely amazing. The views were spectacular and the pond was so soothing. I was blown away. My German Shepherd loved it. We will DEFINITELY be back

Talk about a relaxing stay with everything you’ll need! The hosts seriously thought of everything! Our stay was exactly what we were looking for-private, relaxing, and comfortable. We came with our dogs and our baby. For those wondering if they should do the same, it worked great for us! Bonus points..they have a rocker!! (A wooden one and a comfy one in the bedroom). So we felt right at home with the set up. It’s not “baby proof” as there are things to mind in the home that you can see in pictures (fireplace), but these were never an issue for us. Our dogs could run around outside and play until their hearts content (fenced). There was a swing for our baby to enjoy and he did! When our baby went to bed or napped we hopped in the hot tub and our baby monitor reached fine. There were the sweetest personal touches throughout (dog treats/bowls/welcome message/fresh flowers/chips and salsa (our fav snack). Our stay at The Barn Owl was wonderful! The space was super clean, incredibly cozy, and beautifully designed - everything about it felt warm and inviting. It had all the amenities exactly as described and everything in and outside the house was easy and simple to use. One of our favorite parts was the hot tub and grill area, which was set up in a way that felt completely secluded and private, not facing the road at all. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind! The check-in and check-out process was effortless, and Rachel was friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. We definitely recommend staying here!

Laura’s cabin in Hocking hills was lovely. Clean with great views of the woods. The hot tub was nice and relaxing and was clean. Laura was fabulous to work with and responded quickly to texts. A great weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend exploring a new area. The cabin was so cozy, making us feel right at home on the rainy last day. While we weren’t able to fish due to the river being too high, there are some great access points nearby.

It was beautiful and great location. Beds were comfortable and it was clean. We had a hard time getting in but we were reimbursed for the night. It did not affect our stay greatly . We had a great weekend d and our dog loved it!! I would recommend check in before 10pm in case you run into issues. The issues are really due to wood expansion and issues out of control of the owner. However, you are out in the woods so communication outside of the home can be tricky. Inside the home we were able to work in our cloud environment, it was slower obviously but manageable. We would stay there again, perhaps in the Fall.

The family & I enjoyed our stay. The dogs got plenty of exercise in the surrounding woods. Ive never been in a valley before, the views were great, I love being in this side of Ohio being from up north, literally 2 mins from Lake erie . The land is very flat where we live. Makes it seem like I’m in a different state every-time we come down to southern ohio. Mark was great, and if I needed anything I knew he would just be a simple text or call away. I plan to rent from them again, next on the list is the new cabin that just opened. Thanks for everything, we loved it.
