A great, responsive host in a unique location. A great way to experience living in a dugout. Definitely made our stay in Coober Pedy more authentic and made the summer heat in this location bareable.

Ali’s underground accommodation was fantastic! Our three kids ranging from 7 to 13 years old have been looking forward to staying at Ali’s for over four months and it did not disappoint! We loved it too! The carved out ‘cave room’ was a big hit and the kids absolutely loved sleeping “in the rock“. Ali was a wonderful and responsive host, very helpful. Coober Pedy is such an amazing town to explore! Thank you!

Great experience staying in an underground home very comfortable and well equipped. The toilet had a leak and Phil said a plumber was coming to fix but wasn't an issue. It was 42 degrees c outside and 25c inside with no air-conditioning unbelievably cool

Diane's underground place was unique and amazing. It was all she said it was and more. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this house which was different to anywhere we had ever stayed. And Di was very helpful in getting us hooked up to a tour we very much wanted to go on. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a unique experience in a unique city.

I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb! The open space is beautifully designed, with stunning views of the ocean that made it feel like a true getaway. The location is a bit secluded, so be prepared for a little walk down some stairs, but the views definitely make it worth it. The staff was incredibly helpful, assisting with our luggage both on arrival and departure, which was much appreciated. One thing to note is that you’ll need a scooter to get into town, but it’s a great way to explore the area. I also really appreciated that they provided fresh towels during our stay—it’s those little touches that made a difference. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with beautiful views and great service.

Tine's property is one of the best dugouts in the town. Has plenty of room for everyone (we were a group of 5 adults and 2 kids) with stunning views right at the gate. You'll be a fair 10-12 mins away from the town centre, driving past some roos passing by or spot them right above the ground after you walk out. Access to laundry, decent Internet connection, and a handful of kids activities make this dugout a perfect place to stay. Since we went off season, the property was the holiday and this dugout hit the brief really well for us to have a good time.

What an amazing place to stay! Our first time at Coober Pedy and certainly our first time staying underground. Penelope has created a beautiful and peaceful little oasis in a very hot and dusty little town. It was hard to know where to spend your time. Outside just taking in the magnificent view or inside just marveling at the incredible workmanship of this beautiful home. It was a 40+ degree day when we came and it dropped to about 25 degrees walking inside. The home is very tastefully furnished, beautiful sheets, towels, super comfy bed and a shower with great water pressure. We felt so comfortable and so welcomed, it was like staying with family or friends. Outside is also amazing. The view just took our breath away. It was great watching the sunset and the colours change and then seeing the sun come up the next morning. Penelope’s place is an experience and I’m happy to say I think we took it all in. I hope we can bring family back one day.
