Simply the best location. We had beautiful weather so spend the days lying out front hosting family. A step or two to the beach for a swim in the tropical water - high tide the best. House had everything we needed and more . A small/cozy space, plenty enough for drinks and games when the sun goes down. Hosts very helpful, highly recommend.

We had such a great time at Chloe and Ben's. It was clean and spacious, 1 min walk (if that) to the estuary and five minutes to the lovely surf beach so you could visit several times a day. It didn't need to be a big complicated affair as it was so easy to nip back to the house for food etc. The shower was awesome - very strong pressure. Everything was provided - linen, blankets, pillows, glasses, cutlery etc and all in great condition - and the kitchen was well equipped, including dishwasher and lots of good pans. Loved that we could eat outside on the deck, there was a fenced yard for the dog to run (he was in heaven), plus a trampoline, barbecue and fire pit. The view from the deck was stunning, and the overall vibe of the place was so friendly - from other holidaymakers with kids to the people working at the campsite. Would definitely book again.

Vicki hosted me, my partner and our cat as I had business to attend to in Whangārei. The place was just as described in the listing with clear instructions and prompt communication which suited our needs. Vicki was also understanding of our travel arrangements and was able to accomodate our added request which I appreciated. I didn't get a chance to write in the visitor's book but I sure would've shared the same positive feedback. A highlight for me was seeing a kererū in the tree (which I don't get to see in Auckland). Our cat had a blast and was settled.

11 out of 10 ! Claire was outstanding as a host. Spacious, off-street parking (plural), private, clean, fully equipped, comfortable, squillionaire views with almost ‘private’ beach access. Maybe someone didn’t mention the great outdoor shower for getting rid of beach sand ? This place is perfect for family gatherings. There is only one thing not perfect about this place….having to leave !

Incredible stay. The house has everything you could need and more. The outdoor deck is beautiful with a view everyday to match. The location is so lovely, quiet, remote with plenty to do. My whole family was very comfortable here the whole time, loved every second.

Awesome spot! can launch boat out front, plenty of space. peaceful with epic scenery. Ya can't beat waking up on the beach! owners super nice and easy to deal with.

For a winter break it really was perfect. Best spot ever. The best part....The people! Friendly, helpful. Kind. Every eatery was great. Op shop for fishing clothes too! Had great fishing with " Buckos" Dont miss it! Will return. Thankyou. BnM

It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

The cottage has a gorgeous view - such a treat to wake up to it every morning. Really spacious and ideal for a couple. Short drive away from some amazing beaches. Thank you, Kathy!

Very nice place in a great location. Well equipped and lots of amenities. Lawrence was an exceptional host, communicated quickly and made a special effort on our part.

Can’t say enough good things. The house was amazing, from the unique design, to the location, to the views. Took advantage of the beautiful beach, the hiking trails, the water tank pool, and the incredibly clean and fully equipped house. Hope to visit again soon.

The pictures don't do this beautiful home justice, it's even better in person. Equipped with everything you would expect and more and wowed by the exceptional views. My only issue was that we couldn't stay longer unfortunately but hope to visit again in the future. Thank you for wonderfully comfortable stay.

We loved our holiday here. It was so relaxing and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool was great and we enjoyed the kayaks. Special mention to Michael in reception - so friendly and welcoming and a mine of information on where to go & what to do. Motel is retro style, brings back memories! Excellent beds with quality linen. Nice touches including snacks and juice, as well as thoughtful placement of lamps and artwork creating a lovely ambiance that you don’t often see in motels. Thanks so much - it was a fantastic experience.

This place was beautiful in the picture, but even more beautiful in reality. We chose this place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we are very pleased. We enjoyed a three-course dinner prepared by ourselves with a breathtaking view in the background. We didn't even think about going to a restaurant, because no restaurant offers such a milieu. The nice pool and jacuzzi in the common area added even more value. Every moment was worth staying there and the price-quality ratio is perfectly balanced. The staff was very pleasant as well. Thank you very much for playing an important role in our important day!

Pauline's place is amazingly spacious and you will have a wonderful view from your room. It was very close to many amazing beaches. It was immaculately clean. Pauline is a lovely person and she is both very friendly and also very helpful with advice on where to go, and what to see. I would happily stay with Pauline again and have no hesitation in recommending her to everyone.

Janis’s Place was so beautiful. The pictures doesn’t justify the real place. It is private, spacious and full of activities. We had two toddlers and dogs with us and they all enjoyed so much. The bay was amazing where small children can play without any fear of water. Hot tub and volleyball was cherry on the top. The outdoor was full of nature and spacious for kids and dogs to play around. We harvested some fresh fruits like grapes and Fig. All in all this place has so much to offer for everyone. Host were so helpful and so friendly. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had such a great family time. Looking forward to coming back next summer.

Beautiful spot right on Oakura Bay. If you like swimming, playing in the waves and walking on the beach it is the perfect spot. Would be great for families!

My wife and I stayed in this waterfront home last year, and for the past year, we have been dreaming of our return. The two weeks we spent here now were heavenly as the Piwakawaka Lodge is beautifully renovated, private, and peaceful, with ever-changing views of the Kerikeri inlet out to Cape Brett. We started every morning in the lounge with the floor-to-ceiling doors open to the views to enjoy our coffee and tea. There is so much to do in the area - great hiking, beautiful beaches, and amazing sights. Mark and Sally are gracious hosts who keep the lodge in tip-top shape and provide everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, including local recommendations of things to see and do in the Northland. Their homegrown tomatoes, fresh herbs, and local wine were a special treat. We are already talking about returning next year for an even longer stay. Highly recommend this wonderful property and fantastic hosts!

We spent a week at Marco's wonderful home for a special family holiday, it is the most magical place. We were blessed with glorious weather and made the most of the great location right on the beach but also explored the area. Surfing, walking to the lighthouse, Whale Bay, beach for the evening, it was a truly amazing holiday. The house is comfortable, well equipped and thoughtfully designed for easy living by the sea. We ate on the deck most evenings but also tried Marco's recommendations for eating out. One restaurant that was excellent was the Marina Wood Fired Dining in Tutukaki right on the harbour. We could not have wished for a more perfect time, relaxing and enjoying the stunning surroundings as well as this truly exceptional property. Thank you Marco and Ryan, we have the best memories to cherish of our time at Woolleys Bay.

We had a lovely 3 day visit to the vineyard cottage. It’s truly a place to forget about the world and surround yourself with nature. Well appointed, comfortable and so many wonderful touches. While we never met Lisa, she was very attentive and responsive to our needs and questions. The only surprise from the listing was the location of the cottage relative to the beautiful and beguiling photograph of the home on the bluff overlooking the sea. The cottage is actually further up the hill close to the road and a bit of a steep walk down to the beach.
