Nice property with great amount of nature in its surroundings. We could see macaws and tucanes from our windows. Heard howling monkeys mornings and afternoons. However, I will recommend 4x4 vehicle because you need it to the last climb to the entrance of the property.

I absolutely loved staying at John’s place! I cannot recommend it enough! The entire space was extremely clean and comfortable. I got amazing sleep because of how comfortable the beds and sheets (no joke!) were. We loved utilizing the pool and hot tub! John really thought of everything for this space! There are so many thoughtful amenities. It’s conveniently located and isn’t too far from the marina (excellent fishing), amazing restaurants, fun excursions, and supermarkets! I went to the supermarket several times and they had a great selection! We did river rafting and went to Antonio Manuel National Park (close by). There are some beautiful beaches in the area too. John was extremely easy to communicate with and quick to respond. This was my 21st country to visit and I’ve been to over 30 of the US states. I can confidently say this has been my favorite Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. I am a travel agent as well and would not hesitate sending my clients here! Highly recommended!!

It’s hard to sum up my feelings about this place. It was so special and wonderful. It’s hard to describe. I also hesitate about giving it so much praise because I worry that next time I want to book it it’ll be full! The place was perfect. It was right on a private beach at the end of a private road. The water was a perfect temperature. The sand was soft. The ground Keeper was so friendly and very helpful. He was very kind to my kids and we felt right at home! Also a huge added bonus were his dogs. My kids miss our dogs when we travel and they were thrilled to find dogs here waiting for us when we arrived. There were limitless activities for us to do. We could lay around on the beach or swim in the pool or do excursions that were close by. This part of Costa Rica is extremely beautiful! I would stay in a place like this over a resort any day.

All I can say is that my husband had to drag me out kicking and screaming. Wow from the moment I opened the doors I was transported to a different dimension. Absolutely beautiful, from the views, to the amenities, they literally thought of everything. Even had a pineapple with a beautifully written note to us for our days and wedding anniversary. Always responsive within minutes. I will definitely return, this time with just clothes as I needed nothing else!

The place was close to several beaches and a great location to land before going to your tours. Everything was clean, and everything for cooking was present. The home was very private and peaceful. The pool was just right for hanging out. The washer and dryer were an excellent perk. Loved that there were fans everywhere and air conditioning was a God sent. I would go there again in a heartbeat. There is a pizza place called “La Fogata” that is about 6-8 minutes away that we have been to before. If you like thin crust pizza and lots of choices, I would highly recommend it. There is also a restaurant 3-4 minutes away, with an amazing view of the sunset called “Mirador Don Roger”. Way over priced, service is non existent but go there for a drink and an amazing sunset view. There is a fantastic restaurant called “El Barril” which is on the main road within walking distance with very reasonable prices and great service”. This place is so beautiful. We loved our stay and enjoyed the amazing view. The shower is so cool. You can shower with a view on the mountains! I really recommend this place if you like it quiet and private.

We were greeted by David and Penelope upon arrival with a warm welcome. We stayed on the ground level in the 2 bedroom suite with our own kitchenette however we received two wonderful meals per day with request. Our hosts were wonderful, informative, and accommodating arranging for a monkey tour through the Mangroves by boat and informed us of the tortuga release just down the beach from where we were staying so we could take the easy 5 minute walk to watch the release. Oh, speaking of the beach, it was amazing to have such an amazing expanse to walk wash day. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to stay with David and Penelope. Looking forward to our next stay with them.

Bonito lugar para pasar unos días trabajando remoto, Walmart a 4 minutos en auto y es un lugar alejado del ruido de la ciudad. Los anfitriones son amables y atentos

Beautiful home. Great amenities. we loved how peaceful and connected to wildlife and nature. We had a mama humming bird with her nest right outside our window. Lots of birds and other wildlife.

10/10. The host family is very kind, helpful and communicative. The space is beautifully bathed in natural light and surrounded by nature. There is hot water, generous space, good reception/wi-fi, and everything you might need in the kitchen. The climate is cool at night so we slept great. Great neighborhood with good restaurants and stores walking distance. We stayed for five weeks and would absolutely do it again! Highly recommended.

Outstanding stay in every possible way. Sue and Joe have created an oasis in the jungle. The lodging itself is beautiful and matched the photos but what sets Southern Drakes Lodge apart is the service. We are a family of 5 and never have we felt so taken care of in all our travels. From the moment we booked to when it was time to depart, Sue and Joe took care of every detail from taxis, laundry, tours (thank you Elsa!), amazing meals (Thai and Ellie prepared breakfast and dinner that were as beautiful as they were delicious). Five days was not enough but we all left with a sense of gratitude that we were able to experience the OSA peninsula and stay in such a special place with amazing hosts.

La propiedad es acogedora, tranquila y con buena privacidad. Está muy bien equipada y se encuentra cerca para visitar el Chirripó. Grisel fue muy amable y atenta a las consultas y nos compartió una canasta de frutas cuando llegamos :)

We had a great time at Omar's little cabin next to Rio Chirripó. The cabin is cozy, and the location is private, but you can still walk to the store if you want. It's the perfect getaway, and we will definitely return.

Sehr netter Gastgeber. Wir haben seinen leckeren Kaffee zum Frühstück bekommen - auch Nachschlag auf Nachfrage. Die Terrasse ist wunderschön, mit Blick auf die Berge und den Garten. In der Früh kann man bei Sonnenaufgang auf der Terrasse frühstücken und die Vögel beobachten. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sogar mit Backofen. Eins der Handtücher im Bad war leider nicht sauber. Wir können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen! Als kleiner Tipp: lasst euch vor der Anreise Fotos schicken wo ihr hin müsst, ist ansonsten etwas schwer zu finden. Ein SUV ist von Vorteil.

We loved this little cabin! Perfect for our small family. Ivonne was so responsive and hospitable. Loved the open air style of the cabin, with the sounds of monkeys and birds in the morning. About a 5 minute walk to Playa Chaman, one of the beaches that is part of Marina Ballena National Park. plenty of kitchen supplies for making our meals, and also close to restaurants. highly recommend!

This is the second time we have stayed on Luis Andres' family's coffee/banana farm. We absolutely loved both stays. The house is rustic, not fancy, but had everything we needed and many different outdoor areas to relax and gawk at the mountains and valley below, We didn't do much except relax and enjoy the birds and gardens and drink in the peace and beauty of the place. Luis Andres met us upon arrival (last time he came and led us there which we needed - GPS not great) and also came to say goodbye - a genuinely nice person. Town and restaurants are about 20 minutes downhill. We bought groceries before arriving and took care of most of our own meals. One of my favorite things about this house is the "outdoor" bathroom & watching toucans in the trees right outside my morning shower! I hope to be able to return.

La familia que nos atendió nos trató como parte de la suya. Recomiendo tomar la alimentación con ellos, comida casera riquísima. Hay bellos senderos alrededor para pasar el día viendo hermosos paisajes. Consulten por el tour a la catarata

Este de los mejores Aribn del área perfecta localización cerca del centro de Pérez con una vista de todo el valle preciosa al igual que cerca de la comunidad de San Gerardo de Rivas donde se accesa al chirripo la cabaña es súper amplia el balcón el diseño se ve que pensaron en detalles, el cuarto tiene unas puertas que dan al balcón y a la vista y es increíble dormimos con esas puertas abiertas nos sentimos cómodos seguros y con privacidad en total paz lo más seguro vamos a volver.
