My daughter and i had a super stay. We felt safe to explore the beautiful farm and gardens. The view from the cottage, hot tub and friendly donkeys were a highlight. The staff are friendly and helpful. We have shared this location with our family and friends.

Beautiful place perfect for a weekend away to unplug. All the farm animals are super friendly and the farm itself is beautiful. The place is super comfortable and quiet and has all the amenities to make you feel cozy and right at home. The only minus was that the kolkol was a bit green but that should be pretty easy to get fixed. Overall, we definitely recommend staying there.

What a Gem of a place on the most beautiful apple farm. The cottage is perfectly positioned to access the most amazing mountain bike trails in the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious and modern, giving you the feeling of luxury, yet still on a farm enjoying the smells and feelings of not being in town. Dwayne and the team were extremely good at communications too and allowed for a seamless stay. Keep it up team, amazing work.

Had a lovely stay at the cottage. Special views to enjoy, well equipped home, uncluttered yet including most of what makes a break comfortable. Particularly impressed by kitchen equipment, cutlery, crockery quality - makes for convenient self catering. Location good and plenty of activities nearby. Very suitable for a couple or family of 4 but might feel a bit crowded with six adults in the space. But certainly a wonderful break away

Lovely location, remote enough for nature lovers but just 15min from Gansbaai for groceries, etc. Plenty of scenic walks for all fitness levels, multiple swimming spots, nearby Lomond wine farm has great MTB trails. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, the covered outdoor seating area with braai is a relaxing vibe. Would revisit for sure.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a longer trip from the UK in the Western Cape. This was such a lovely spot to just stop and relax. We loved the inside/outside space and a cooler/rainy day gave us the opportunity to enjoy a hot tub under the stars. The gardens and grounds are beautiful. Worth a visit to the cutting flower garden across the road. We also really enjoyed the opportunity to swim and kayak in the river. Breakfast hampers a great touch- delicious and beautifully presented. We also made use of ordering braii/ salads and veg which made self catering very easy indeed!

We had the most wonderful stay at Rivergate. The farm is gorgeous and peaceful and if you like these sort of environments, this place is for you. Our family enjoyed the beautiful interiors and exteriors and the hot tub was an utter hit with the kids. A highlight was the fresh breakfast basket delivered every morning. The farm has lots to enjoy from kayaks and canoes for the river, walks, flower picking and more. It was such a delight and I hope we can be back for a visit in the future. Our one negative was that we unfortunately had small bats nesting in the roof of our bedroom which disturbed us in the evenings. The Rivergate family was seeing to their removal so hopefully they won’t be a bother for anyone else. It’s a rural and beautiful setting so understandably you will share space with some creatures but this did not detract from the wonderful stay here.

Lovely cottage right in the heart of Stanford. Lots of restaurants and shops all within easy walking distance. Perfect for a weekend away with a good book.

What a memorable stay in Hermanus, made more so by Marinda. Location was ideal. Quiet yet close to everything. The cottage was in a beautiful setting as Marinda's garden is breathtaking. Odie and I felt completely at home in the cottage, including interaction with neighbors! Marinda is a kind soul, always looking out for me and Odie. Cannot wait to visit again during whale season!

Nan's place was great. Bigger than we had expected, well kitted out, and great location for a stroll to the beach and the lagoon. The fireplace worked well to warm up the place when we visited in winter. And Nan was a great host going the extra mile to make sure that we were comfortable. Would love to visit again. Maybe next time in the summer!

Great host, very welcoming, accommodating and a wonderful pet friendly cottage

We absolutely loved our weekend away at Matt’s place! The views are breathtaking, and the setting is so peaceful, safe, and secure. The home has such great style and attention to detail—it’s the perfect escape from the city. Everything was just as described (if not better!), and can’t wait to be back soon. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay, located very centrally to town, beaches and the cliff walk!

A delightful tranquil find in an eco reserve. We loved our week away from civilization, off the beaten track for definitive. We enjoyed walking along the beach into town for lunch and supplies, due to our saloon vehicle being too low profile for the rocky road into the property. We even had unexpected visits from the local baboons. The two units are at the back of the main large home and overlook the mountains with uninterrupted views rather than the ocean. It was lovely that the other two units were unoccupied during our stay so we had the hammock and the footpaths all to ourselves. We deeply appreciated that our kitten could come along, the midweek cleaning by Gift and Isaac plus the lovely extra welcome bits left by Nicky. The bed was super comfortable and the unit well insulated against the warm summer sun. We can't wait to visit again! Next time with a higher profile vehicle suitable for off road travel. A real hidden gem.

A proper farm - protea flowers - but only 30 minute scenic drive to nearest large town (Stanford) and 15 minute drive to nearest small village. We (2 adults + 2 small dogs) enjoyed our walks, dips in the river ponds, and sunsets and sunrises, in short, a nice getaway. Lindsay was friendly, interesting and attentive, a great host.

This is the perfect spot for a weekend get away. The beach is beautiful and a short walk away. We really enjoyed our stay.

Gorgeous spot and lovely family house with loads of family history clearly display. Can't ask for a better morning coffee spot with that view. Not too mention evening "braai" with that stunning surroundings. Love it hope to return Feb 25❤️🤙🤙

Hübsche Unterkunft in einer ruhigen Wohngegend, nicht weit vom Zentrum von Hermanus entfernt. Das Garden Cottage ist mit Geschmack und viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Es verfügt über ein besonders bequemes Bett und ein großzügiges Badezimmer. Annie ist eine äußerst sympathische, weltgewandte Gastgeberin. Sie gibt die besten Tipps für Bars und Restaurants. Unbedingt auf sie hören! Auf den berühmten Cliff Path kommt man direkt zu Fuß von der Unterkunft. Zum weitläufigen Dünen-Strand gelangt man nach einer kurzen Autofahrt. Wir können das Garden Cottage empfehlen.

Beautiful sea views from the bedroom and lounge area! We had everything we needed. Awesome location. Nature trail just a few meters away and the harbour 12min walk away. Just note that there is only 1 bathroom and the water pressure not great. The hot water in the shower was not very hot, but luckily it was a warm weekend and we didn't mind so much. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and can recommend Anine's place!

Exceptionally well fitted, this is the place to choose over others. Outstanding location and perfectly suited to a few days of bliss. Cannot recommend more highly. Top class plumbing, chef class kitchen, furniture to collapse in. Look no farther !!

This place is simply sublime. I wish I owned it. To say that it's well equipped is an understatement, it has all the things one needs e.g. including a egg poacher pan. The surroundings are so beautiful and we were lucky to see the pear trees were in bloom. The only criticism is that the farm activity (tractor) was going on until about 9 pm on the Friday, but it was peacful the rest of the weekend.

Stunning. Stunning. Stunning. I had such an incredible experience. From reception communicating location and check in instructions before we arrived, to a breathtaking stay. A definite repeat location! There is about a 15km dirt road headed to the farm but it is well maintained and views on the way to the accommodation are wonderful. Lots of cows, horses and sheep to be excited about. The cottage is clean, homey and has plenty of firewood to keep you toasty. You may have neighbors, but cottages are well made, so once you pass your privacy screen, you are all alone. Wonderful in-house wines are offered to purchase. My parter and myself had a wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back again soon in the future!
