We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kale’s cottage! It was comfortable, private, cozy, quiet (except for the train at 3AM-but I think everyone in Paonia must hear it!), modern and had such a comfy bed! There were so many amenities like the coffee beans to be ground for fresh coffee in the morning and assorted teas. Since we heat with wood at home, the wood stove helped us feel right at home! I could see this place being amazing in the summer as well.

Tim's a great host, met us upon arrival and chatted a bit! We arrived in the cold dark after quite an exciting, nail biting snowy, icy road drive through the mountains. And the thing that topped it off was Tim had the heat on in our place, which was what I was thinking about(besides sliding off the road) the whole way up! Nice welcoming touch, and the dog bed, bowl and blanket for our pooch. So we booked during the off season right after Christmas because we just wanted a chill break after all the family and holiday stuff. None of the wineries, orchards, hiking, or biking trails were open, nor were a lot of the businesses in town, but like I said we just wanted to relax and we did. That's pretty much the only reason for the four star rating on location. We already planned the dates for our return trip this summer, and can't wait to come back, with mountain bikes, hiking boots and friends!

The Sunflower Cottage was perfect! The location was gorgeous and quiet. Charley was able to accommodate for an early check in, which was appreciated! The guest book had great recommendations for local activities and restaurants, but we also enjoyed relaxing in the tiny home and in the private fire pit area. There is also a beautiful sunset watching spot within a 10 minute walk! Thank you, Charley! We will be returning.

Lori was a fantastic host—responsive, accommodating, and thoughtful. The place was surrounded by breathtaking mountains, making it a perfect retreat. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

This spotless space has the best view of any Airbnb we have ever stayed at; the view is of Needle Rock with the West Elk Mountains behind. The patio is just killer and everything about the rental is top notch. Beautiful surroundings, horses and peace and quiet. wonderful

This house was the most beautiful setting for my entire family for Christmas. Sledding on the hill behind the house, watching deer, foxes, elk roam the property, it was peaceful and quiet and even snowed on Christmas morning. The ranch hand Robbie along with Carleigh made every attempt to make our stay wonderful. They put lights on the porch and a tree in the living room to make everything perfect. Would love to stay here again.
