This was a beautiful home with great views of the mountains and lovely sunsets! The home is spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the well-appointed kitchen, outdoor eating area and hammocks. There are beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and toys that you are able to use for trips to the many beaches. Lots of great day trips in close driving distance, and fun food trucks and carts in Peñuelas! We loved the stay :)

Ruben's house is in the most beautiful location! We had an amazing time eating breakfast on the deck and listening to the animals. Plus, Ruben is the nicest guy and he gave us lots of great advice about what to see in the area. There was an earthquake during our stay and Ruben was super helpful in giving us updates. Highly recommend!

A wonderfully peaceful place in the jungle with evening coqui frog calls. It is rustic living on a hillside in a rain forest with a beautiful stream running through the property. The cabin had everything that we needed. During our stay, the power went out for about a day (a transformer that provided power to two barrios) but the house had some backup solar/battery power and headlamps. At the end of our stay, the local water main broke but the refrigerator had a gallon of backup drinking water, so we were well enough stocked until we left. Sana and Papo were very responsive during this and had prepared well for possible issues. Also, to be clear, we have stayed here two other times and have had no such infrastructure issues. We hope to return soon. It is a great place!

I enjoyed my stay. It was easy to reach, very clean and looked exactly as it was advertised.

Very cool place. Be ready for a STEEP winding drive and a 5-10 minute scenic mountain hike. Given how remote it is, Sana and Papo provided excellent instructions and have developed a well-oiled machine/method for check in. There are some rules and disclaimers, all of which make a lot of sense given the context of the place, and are easy to follow/respect. Bring groceries, and eat Daly’s cooking. We had a great time playing in the watering holes, using the sauna, enjoying the view, exploring the land and the plants, and listening to the coquís at night. There are some critters around, and be ready for nature pees and the composting toilet. I thought it was super cool. You can tell the property is really a labor of love and very well thought out. The time they took to make a map, make the screens, build the toilet, plant the pine trees to avoid erosion, maintain the paths, build and tend to the sauna, etc etc, the list goes on, is quite admirable to think about. I just wanna start of by saying how stunning the house was , 10x better then the videos and pictures. The host was very responsive and helped out with any questions we asked. My favorite thing about this house is the backyard and view , I promise you it’s an experience you won’t regret. Definitely well worth it.
