My husband and I stayed for a week and had a lovely time. Everything was very clean upon arrival and there are all the amenities one could need! The home is bright and spacious, with the large patio door and windows that provide beautiful views of the water. The large deck is wonderful to sit and enjoy. Scenic, quiet and peaceful. We felt so relaxed and at home here. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Doug and Sandy have created an exceptional airbnb, and they have thought of everything a guest might need to feel at home. The eat-in kitchen is completely stocked with great utensils, dishes, and pots/pans for cooking, baking and meals. And, lots of extras - books, games, two television, wifi, and more. The hosts did not cut corners on anything you'll find here. From the furniture and decor, to the thick towels, linens and comfortable beds, these hosts have set themselves apart from most airbnb's you'll visit. We took advantage of the world class sweeping water views from our Adirondack chairs on the deck, and loved the fresh air during our coffee time each morning. The sunsets and full moon were gorgeous, and wow, what an incredible stretch of open sky! We saw eagles, Canada Geese, and sea birds throughout our stay. Doug and Sandy have done a super job capturing Nova Scotia's hospitality, style and charm, and we will definitely be back for another visit!

Heidi’s cottage was wonderful. Beautiful location with stunning views from all windows. The cottage itself was clean, very well stocked with everything you’d need and very tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. Highly recommend!

Wir wurden von Paul und Eleanor sehr freundlich empfangen. Sie öffnen ihr Haus groß zügig für die Gäste. Da wir auf der Durchreise waren, nahmen sie sich sehr viel Zeit, uns interessante Routen zu erklären. Das Zimmer, das Bett, das Bad, alles makellos. Wir schliefen zum Meer hin(ca. 5 min zu Fuß erreichbar) und hörten keinerlei Geräusche von der Straße. Paul überraschte uns mit einem herrlichen Frühstück. Wir fühlten uns stets willkommen und können unsere Gastgeber in jeder Hinsicht empfehlen.

Bibri und Amer sind ganz wunderbare Gastgeber. Wir hatten alles wie beschrieben und noch viel mehr, sie denken an alles. Wir bekamen 2 Flaschen frisches Wasser, Kaffee, Tee, Cornflakes, 🍿 Popcorn. Das Bett ist mega bequem und alles ist blitzblank sauber. Das Bad wunderbar groß und bequem, auch hier findest du alles was du brauchst und viel mehr. Bri könnte als Innenarchitektin arbeiten, alles ist so toll dekoriert. Danke für den tollen Aufenthalt!! Wir empfehlen diese Unterkunft und würden jederzeit wiederkommen, wenn wir in New Glasgow sind. ❤️

My stay at Sharlane’s was a home away from home! I stayed during winter months for my son’s hockey provincials but it was perfect only minutes away from Pictou Wellness centre😃 The home was spotless and had everything you could possibly need and more. It is a century home and I absolutely love how they preserved natural beauty of its time with the modern upgrades♥️ Sharlane was the sweetest host returned my messages within minutes I would stay there again in a heartbeat! The Town of New Glasgow is filled with history and preserved buildings if you are like myself you will love looking at the old homes and buildings that have been restored, they are just beautiful 😊

Lots of nice touches: lights on when we arrived, snacks (even milk and yogurt!), shampoo, board games, etc. It is not super clear from the listing, but the shower is at an angle, quirk of an old farmhouse. Taller people won't find it all that comfortable . We were also very excited about the hot tub, but less excited to realize it was around the back of the house. On a slippery cold winter day we chose to not take advantage. Overall this is a solid pick and I would not hesitate to recommend. Thanks for a great stay!
