Our family (2 adults and 3 kids 5,5 and 7 yrs old) really enjoyed our short stay. Peaceful, room to explore or sit and relax. All the amenities to cook meals for the family in the cottage plus little touches like a coffee pod machine (much appreciated by the parents after long drive). An added bonus was the farm tour by Gary and honey from the farm bees. Highly recommend to break up the drive from Brisbane to Sydney and to show the kids a working farm.

Our stay at the Avalon River Retreat was beautiful. My partner and I arrived at Sophies' place in Toms Creek hoping for a relaxing, rural getaway, and we were rewarded with the perfect escape. The property is beautiful, and with more time we could have spent days walking through the differing australian bush landscapes and kayaking down the river. As it was, we spent our time meeting all of Sophies friendly animals, spotting platypus in the river and a stunning day trip to Ellenborough Falls (highly recomend) . The cottage itself was clean, warm and perfectly appointed, with possibly the most comfortable couch ive lounged on. We could have easily spent the whole stay on the couch with a book and the sound of the river and wild brumbies in the clearing below. Sophie was incredibly helpful and easy to deal with. From taking us on a tour of her property on the first day, she was always avaliable for anything we needed, while leaving us to do as we pleased. I cannot recommend high enough

A lovely cottage and incredibly beautiful surrounding property. We especially loved walking down to the dam and watching the platypus play in the water. What a treat! We saw wild deer in the early mornings too and many birds. We felt miles away from the hustle and bustle and really relaxed into the country lifestyle. Sandra’s instructions were extremely helpful. Thanks so much for having us!

We absolutely had the best time here. The property is beyond amazing. The best sunset ever! So much to do, from fishing, crabbing, riding bike around and enjoying the fire at night. Neil is super friendly! Even gave us mud crab that he freshly caught! Communication is amazing! Gayle is super fast at responding. We will be coming back here for sure. Thank you so much

From the beautiful interior design, the luxurious bed linen , comfortable leather couches and well appointed kitchen this homestead was a haven for our family. We had plenty of opportunities to head off on family adventures but the call of the pool, the relaxing reading room, the donkey and spa were to much of a temptation for us. Night time saw us melting marshmallows around the fire pit, going for nature walks with our torches and playing games around one of the three large accommodating tables. The few days spent in this beautiful homestead were magical ones for our family. Thank you Kirstin for making our stay so amazing. We are planning for a return visit.

What an amazing host and place to stay!! Anne and Scott were so kind and friendly and went out of their way to allow us to feed their farm animals. Great communication and very responsive hosts. Their air b&b was spotless and had such an amazing view of the countryside and their animals, A very homely feeling as soon as you enter! If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing views and awesome hosts, this is the place for you! Thanks again for a wonderful stay and experience! 😊

Such a peaceful relaxing getaway, beautiful countryside home at one with nature, birds, cows, horses, wallabies and lovely gardens. Wish we didn’t have to leave!

Thank you so much Anne & Scott for your hospitality. The stay felt very close to nature, like home and best part is my little one really enjoyed seeing the animals and interact with them. Her favourites were the horses (the big boys). The place was very welcoming, nice, clean and in prestine condition. The cabin is fully equitted with all, one can think of. We really had great time and would highly recommend Anne & Scott as hosts. Would love to visit again in future for sure. Thank you

Fantastic place to stay to let your kids experience farm life and feed the animals. Very quiet / peaceful and will definitely come back again.

Gail was a wonderful host. We had one of our best Airbnb experiences. The property is quiet and beautiful in the countryside, which is exactly what we looked for. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, and Gail also supplies breakfast ingredients.

The studio is set in beautiful Bushland with views out to the water in the distance. We loved bird watching in the area and taking our dog walking along the beach just across the road. The beds were really comfortable

The Salty Shack was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay. The flat is nice, has everything you need and it is in a remarkable location. The owners were easy to deal with and just let us do our own thing. Definitely recommend.

If you’re thinking of staying here - do it! This place has to be one of my favourite places I’ve stayed. Sitting in the outdoor spa under the stars was magical, as was walking through the property and finding a waterfall! (Bring your hiking boots if you plan on a walk) Absolutely beautiful location, super peaceful, nice styling, comfy beds, and great amenities to make cooking dinner, doing our laundry etc easy.
