I recently had the pleasure of staying at Wren House in Afton, Virginia, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled amidst nature, this retreat offered privacy and breathtaking mountain views. The hot tub was a delightful addition, perfect for unwinding after a day of tubing at Wintergreen Resort. The spacious layout made it ideal for our family gathering, providing both comfort and tranquility. I highly recommend Wren House for anyone seeking a serene getaway in a picturesque setting.

We had a wonderful stay in this charming pre-Civil War home! It was warm and cozy, the perfect retreat for an icy, snowy weekend. The location is great—the city center with its restaurants and shops are couple minutes away by foot, and there's a supermarket just across the street. There was some traffic noise during the day, but it got reasonably quiet at night, so it was no issue. The house itself is full of character—nothing is quite square, plumb, or level, but that only adds to its charm! If you appreciate historic homes with a unique feel, this is a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend! The host was incredibly accommodating, offering an early check-in without us even asking. They also proactively offered a late checkout or even an extra night due to the heavy snowfall, though in the end the roads were clear and we could leave as planned.

Wonderful home. Very close to catochin mtn hiking trails. Very close to town. House was immaculate. We used 3 of the beds and they were comfy. Kitchen was well stocked - we cooked two dinners and 3 breakfasts. Bathrooms were updated and very clean. Lots of towels available. If you’re coming to this area, stay here! We would definitely stay here again!!

The apartment is well laid out. We had everything we needed. Once we figured out how to get in (trouble with the padlock at first), we had no other problems. The house is down a biggesh hill making walking up to town a thing. We don't recommend this apt. for anyone with mobility issues, unless you have a car. We will be staying here again, if possible.

This place was wonderful! Walkable to restaurants and the metro, but still felt private. Clean, comfortable and peaceful. Felt right at home and Kelly is a wonderful host, with clear communication and very helpful. Will definitely want to stay here when I return to the area!

A true gem of a location. We loved our stay and would definitely come back. Its the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature's beauty.

Pros: Location! Minutes to the slopes. This was the best location we have had in all the years we have been coming. The views are amazing. Bedrooms were roomy and there was ample seating in the kitchen and living room. We were 10 people and the house didn’t feel cramped at all. The host was very responsive when we reported damage upon arrival and a leak under the kitchen sink. I would book again! Cons: Basement was cold. The host had space heaters to warm up the space which we ran the entire time we were there. Bunk beds were not made when we arrived and the towels were not placed in the bathrooms. There were no hand towels. Linens are aged and pillows need replacing. Very basic bedding, no extra blankets to keep people warm. The kitchen needs a deep clean. Many drawers are dirty, utensils sticky. There is no order to the cabinets. The house sleeps 14, but there are only 8 coffee cups and not enough utensils for everyone to eat at the same time.

We had the BEST girls’ weekend here! It was so beautiful, so serene and lovely; it was cozy and elegant, classy and woodsy…from the hot tub, to the loft bedroom and the views, it was EXACTLY what we wanted. So thankful for Vera’s hospitality and genuine sincerity for us to truly feel at home. Absolutely wonderful, we definitely hope to be back!

We enjoyed our stay very much and the house was exactly as described and pictured. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay again in the near future while in the area.

Really beautiful property. Safe, rural, peaceful. Hosts were responsive. Had a couple problems but these were addressed immediately. Very happy with how responsive they were.

We had a fantastic stay at The Gables at Lake Anna! Don and Bitsy are wonderful hosts who provided us with detailed information and were very accommodating throughout our visit. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay—a true home away from home. The location was perfect for our family Thanksgiving gathering, offering a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Our family gathering was just wonderful due in large part to the home exceeding our expectations. First, host Laura could not have been any more helpful and responsive. Add to that was a beautifully laid out home for a small gathering that was well stocked and filled with of amenities. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a beautiful place within close proximity to Annapolis and Baltimore to seriously consider this home. Thanks again!

This house is very large, with plenty of space for groups. With 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths it works well for groups. There is plenty of kitchen and dining space. The house is not cluttered and each room is spacious. Three of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. TV reception was great. We'd stay again! It is located right across from a nice city park with trails and swing sets, as well as workout stations. On the other side of that is One Loudoun - a retail, restaurant and mixed use space that has plenty of eateries and other shops (including a Barnes & Noble, hair salons, a movie theater and more). The house has a two car garage and plenty of street parking as well. Pet friendly area, with a paved patio. The beds were comfortable, and most are upstairs (one in the basement/lower level game room area). There are stairs into the house and also from the garage. The house is in the flight path to Dulles, and there is a lot of aircraft noise (with a short break late at night).

Beautiful property with a lot of great vineyards and breweries close by. The host was very helpful and responsive!

Justin’s place is a great place for a large group to stay in massanutten. Many of the homes in this community have steep driveways, but this home has a large, flat driveways that perfectly accommodated our groups needs. The house was as pictured and described in the listing— homey and welcoming with lots of practical items— fully stocked kitchen dishes and pots and pans, sole children’s toys, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, as well as comfortable bed rooms. We’d highly recommend this home for your trip!

My husband and I stayed two nights and truly felt at home in this delightful, cozy cabin. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. We appreciated the complimentary coffee and snacks, as well as the recommendation for dinner at The Naked Olive. We love coming to Berkeley Springs each year and it was so nice to be able to walk 10 minutes down the hill to go into town. The gracious hosts checked in with us to make sure we were happy. The bed was very comfortable and the towels smelled divine. I also enjoyed having coffee on the porch. The views were lovely. We'll definitely be back!

Lamiae was a very communicating and lovely host. Had smores supplies and drinks ready for us upon arriving. House was clean and comfortable. The mattresses are very firm and we all loved that and slept amazingly. The only things for guests to be mindful of; if more than two cars are coming, the driveway can be a beast to navigate depending on your car. as well as the downstairs and the upstairs can have significant temperature differences. Overall we had a great time!

This place was beautiful. It looked just like the pictures and was so peaceful. It had everything you would need to cook/clean. I didnt want to leave to go eat so I brought it all with me! Its definitely worth the visit and I would love to come back and stay during the fall.

Heaven on Earth was a beautiful place to spend our weekend! The location was perfect; it felt like we were away from everything, but it was only a 10 minute drive to all the attractions. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Charles Town!
