Absolutely wonderful stay. The place was small, cosy, and very well-equipped, with breathtaking views across the Black Mountains — the perfect retreat for some quiet time. The hosts had thoughtfully left milk, bread, Welsh cakes, and jam, making us feel so welcome. They gave us space to enjoy our stay but checked in with a message to make sure everything was okay, which was really appreciated. It was also incredibly dog-friendly, which made it even more special for us. The place was clean and tidy throughout, and we especially loved the beautiful Welsh blankets. Honestly, it’s the first place I’ve ever stayed where I slept really well — peaceful and comfortable from start to finish. Nearby, there are plenty of places to explore, from the beautiful countryside to scenic walks in the area. Would highly recommend and hope to return!

An absolute gem of a find. Stunning scenery right at the doorstep and a peaceful little spot. Stunning home not too busy and just right for a quiet couples getaway. Lisa was friendly and easy to communicate with and even offered local recommendations for things to do in the local area.

Quaint little cottage, comfortable and warm with central heating and a log fire. No heating in the dining room though, but it didn't matter at all to us, we just eat in the bedsit area. No tv but good WiFi, so able to watch programs or listen to radio on a tablet. Location - absolutely stunning, with beautiful walks during the day, and beavers around the fire pit in the evening- incredible!! Would we go again? - absolutely!! Tips - take a bag of carrots for the beavers, if there's no food out for them they won't stay long. Make sure you haven't forgotten anything, it's a long way to the shops!

We’ve had a fabulous weekend staying at Jake’s place. Beautiful house, in a very convenient place. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants. Highly recommend hiring a boat on the canal. Good fun and very reasonable. Highly recommend this house.

Stunning property. It’s worth noting if you have dogs that there is not an enclosed garden like the pictures could suggest. The place is absolutely beautiful and there are walks literally on the doorstep so wasn’t an issue for us. It has the most incredible shower I’ve ever used as well. Close to Abergavenny with lots of nice shops / restaurants etc

Carolines place was beautiful. Tucked away in a very peaceful and quiet area surrounded by starlings that were flying over us our whole stay, it was exactly what we needed when looking for time out of our busy lives. Caroline was also very helpful and responsive to any needs we had. Would highly recommend.

We've just enjoyed a lovely couple of days at Edwina's. The whole house was cosy and welcoming and a real get away from it all experience and the views were amazing. We wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed time in the lake and outside but in any case the kitchen / living area was perfect for us all to enjoy food, drinks and a few card games in the evening. We found Edwina to be really friendly and helpful so would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to visit this part of Wales. Thank you xx

This is a beautiful little space in a stunning area! Julia is a lovely host and we really enjoyed our stay at her place - the kayaks were an amazing plus! The only slight downside was that some of the crockery and cloths in the kitchen were dirty, and this was mainly just an issue because of allergies, but overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would 100% recommend a visit!

Spent two nights at the cottage, the experience was surreal. It place allows you to disconnect from daily life and take a moment. There are lots of treks and walks around the cottage. Drive up to the cottage is an adventure but definitely worth the effort once you get there. Cottage doesn’t have wi fi but you get decent mobile connectivity so that wasn’t an issue at all. If you love looking out to fantastic views and enjoy exploring the hill on your feet you have got to try this one. 15 minutes drive from Bala town where you get all amenities.
