Loved our stay here! So peaceful sitting in the rocking chairs and enjoying the sunset and watching the stars at night. Perfect location too!

Perfect location one block walking from the beach. Locating the unit once inside the gate was confusing.. should be a sign near the generator saying “turn left here” or name of unit or some type of directional arrow. You just don’t know to walk on the back side of the generator to find a hidden walkway that actual leads up to unit via the stairs. I highly recommend this unit for a quick get away weekend. Clean and big hot shower.

I have stayed at La Esmeralda during my three visits to Puerto Rico. I like the setup of the building complex and the location close to shopping, restaurants, and the beach. There are nearby bus stops for the #5 bus or the #53 to Old San Juan via Miramar and Condado, respectively ($1.50/trip). My first night back, I had dinner next to a couple of recent California transplants who described the difficulties they experienced without a generator when the power went out last fall. Knowing La Esmeralda has a backup generator gives me peace of mind. Tulum has Mexican-themed decor, and I particularly appreciated the Día de Muertos-inspired ceramic skull and the tile mosaic mounted on the wall behind the bed. From past experience, I can tell you that Gautam responds quickly to any issues but I did not have any this visit. I am grateful for the mid-winter reprieve from the frigid northeast and for Gautam’s hosting of La Esmeralda.

This studio was located in a nice, mellow neighborhood of San Juan that is an easy walk away from the beach and shops/restaurants. The apartment is well appointed and has good window exposure and a nice deck where you can relax, get sun, etc. There’s ample parking on the street, which is great. Anyone with a Jeep should consider using the cheap and convenient gated parking on the property, since spare Jeep tires sometimes get stolen in PR. Gautam was a very good and responsive host and I would look forward to staying again sometime.

This was a great stay! The space was straightforward and easy to navigate – check in was an absolute breeze and we were comfortable and at ease throughout our time at the space.

Casa Roja was a wonderful place to stay. The apartment was spacious and clean, the bedrooms were prepared to be nice and cool with the air conditioning. It was great to have the hotel across the street for the use of the pool, ice, and Hannah was wonderful with suggestions for local restaurants to check out. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness of coolers and beach chairs to borrow for no extra charge. Thanks for a great stay!

I thought that the apartment over-delivered on its promises and that Gautam was a responsive host. For example, Gautam gave me permission to drop off my bag before the official check-in time and, when I could not figure out how open the electronic lock to let myself out of the gated courtyard, he responded quickly with the resolution. The air conditioner in the bedroom worked brilliantly in cooling the room, creating white noise to offset street noise, & not acting as a bright night light in the room. The apartment was convenient to Ocean Beach, the Plaza Loiza supermarket, & many interesting restaurants. I recommend Kasalta for breakfast (coffee & a quesito) and Yambootik for dinner. A tip: the eastern end of Ocean Beach has a somewhat larger expanse of beach and thus draws in more people from the neighborhood at that spot. Gautam manages a number of properties in the neighborhood and could probably offer a room for various budgets. If I was to return, I would book 3 nights minimum.

OK, so the host was really responsive and very clear spoke great English. Finding the place was a little difficult, but I think that’s just because the building is kind of new. I know this unit doesn’t have a lot of reviews, but I can tell you it was awesome. I wasn’t sure what kind of place this was but it seemed like a really nice condo building with a 24 hour concierge in the front. Everyone was super helpful. It’s very private and the outdoor area is awesome with the hot tub. It’s really clean and quite beautiful. The air conditioner worked great in both rooms and that’s something I truly care about. They made good use of the bathroom space and both bedrooms look identical. The best part is that it was right in the fun area and very very safe. We honestly just went there for a weekend to have some fun. I don’t really want people to know how good this place is because the next time I go back soon I definitely want to stay here and I don’t want this unit to be all booked up.

We loved our getaway at Victor’s place! The location was great as it’s right on the beach and just steps to the pool from the 1st floor room! Victor was great at communicating and suggested many tips for a better stay and for great dining. There is a supermarket very close-by so we stocked up on goodies during our stay. We also loved taking the bus into Old San Juan and an Uber car ride was just a call away! We hope to return soon!

This was definitely an excellent stay, the aparmentent is very comfortable and it has an excellent location. It was a great experience for us to stay in this place.

As always, excellent service. I needed to check in early and there was no inconvenience, following the policy. It is always a pleasure to return to the facilities of Orange B Living. 🤙🏼
