Absolutely loved our stay. the home was comfortable, spacious, and well appointed.

Gorgeous mountain retreat is a perfect way to describe this property. I found everything in the description of this property to be true. In my opinion Karla’s description was very humble and we found the property to be much better than expected. Entire family celebrated my father’s 90th birthday, and found the house plenty spacious for all of us. With full living space on the main level and downstairs we never felt crowded.The house was immaculate and very well stocked with items that were above and beyond any other property I’ve ever stayed in right down to the firewood. Directions were easy to follow and communication was always done in a timely fashion. If you want to relax, do nothing, enjoy the views this is the place for you. If you want to be active, go hiking, play golf, tennis, etc. this is the place for you. If you want to grill out and watch football with the gang, this place is for you. So if you have a large group, and you are looking for a mountain getaway, I recommend that you stop looking and book this property NOW!!

Very clean, well thought out with kids games, arcades, double bunk beds and a separate space for entertainment. We loved the location and neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. 5 minutes to downtown shopping and restaurants. Clayton is a great town. Our family of 6 will be back.

The cabin is truly amazing and we enjoyed our time. It was exceptionally clean and as pictured. The host checked in with us to ask how things were going which was kind and appreciated. The location is amazing in terms of getting into town or attractions quickly. We would strongly recommend this property but also want to share a few additional insights: There were a few things we think would help give a more comprehensive picture of the property. - There are multiple outside cameras in flood lights and exterior cameras that made it challenging to enjoy our private time outside without the feeling of “being watched” as each time you moved there was a spotlight or a red light in the camera. We completely understand the need for protecting your property, but it did make us less interested in being outside. - The host does require a shoe free house to help with the cleanliness- which was appreciated. We do feel it would be helpful to provide storage or a bench inside especially in winter.

Outstanding location. The perfect home base to explore Rabun County or to stay and relax with a beautiful view. Even prettier in person- pictures don’t do it justice! Everything was very clean and organized. While four wheel drive is not required, we did find it difficult to get up the driveway the second day once leaves had fallen and were wet from a light shower.

Tanya’s place was so beautiful and peaceful. I’m so grateful I booked it. The shower was unique and the bed was super comfy!! She was very communicative and I would love to come back again!!

We loved our stay in Clayton. The place is in a great central location right by all the restaurants and shops as well as Lake Rabun, Lake Burton, Tallulah Gorge, and Black Rock Mountain State Park, and tons of hikes and water falls are all a short drive away. We fell in love with the area. The location allows you to pack a lot in to each day - and we did so with a baby, so others could probably do even more. The place also has a lot of games, amenities, and cool antiques on the inside to look at. Terry was also very responsive and helpful. All of his instructions were clear and he had a amazing recommendations of places to visit on his guide.

Absolutely amazing place! Although our stay was short, it left unforgettable memories. The house is a fairytale — rustic charm meets modern comfort. Every detail is thoughtfully designed, from the cozy fireplace lounge to stylish bedrooms. Our daughter loved her modern room (she didn’t want to leave!) our son adored his little “den” (he called it his hideaway!) and we had a peaceful bedroom with a balcony — perfect for morning coffee. The views from the windows? Like a movie — especially at sunset. The house had everything we needed: TVs in every room, a cozy BBQ area, a fully stocked kitchen. We even celebrated my birthday — beautiful plates, wine glasses, everything was perfect! Our host was incredibly kind and recommended amazing nearby trails We visited: • Black Rock Mountain 🌄 • Tallulah Falls with the suspension bridge and dramatic unforgettable views ! VacayK is a place we’d love to return to. Thank you for the warmth and beauty you’ve created! Highly recommended !⭐️⭐️⭐

I had a great stay. The place is very easy to find and in a great location. Was very impressed with how clean and organized everything was. Would highly recommend staying at river romance.

Roy’s place was super cozy, my boyfriend and I loved it! Quiet and simple. Everything seemed to fit nicely for our comfort.

Mike and Karen were wonderful hosts! They greeted us upon arrival! Made us feel right at home. Even though they live above the apartment they were never intrusive and gave us our space and our privacy. They even gave us fresh eggs as we were leaving. Love the frog garden!

George and Deborah’s cabin home is the most adorable I have ever seen. It should be front page of a magazine! How wonderful that they choose to share it with others!!!! Highly recommended!! I only wish we could have stayed longer! If you are in the area, don’t hesitate, book this one! You will be glad you did!

I work remote and rented Damien's home for a month to disconnect and get away from big city life for a little, and it was the best decision I've ever made. This airbnb was perfect for me and my pup. It has a creek and hiking trail on the massive property which makes for extremely pleasant dog walks. I never had an issue with the Starlink wifi (and I had a lot of devices connected and take zoom meetings all day) while the home is super private and secluded, the town of Franklin with everything you need is less than 10mins away. No complaints about this house or homeowner, one of my favorite Airbnb stays ever and I will definitely be returning in the future. 10/10 would recommend!

The Castle of Joy was amazing to stay at!!! The welcome book provided was super helpful in determining where to eat, shop for groceries or items, activities, etc. The bottom half of the home was really cool! it felt like the more we explored the castle the more cool things we found. Unfortunately, it rained most of the time we were there so we didnt get a chance to walk too much of the trails (consequence of booking in advance). However, I'm sure if I wanted to cancel or reschedule the booking, it would be easy to do so withing 10 days of the check in date (review cancellation policy). My booking was for just 2 people. However, this gem is definitely meant to be shared with a group booking!

This place is a great stay for anyone looking for a place centrally located in the Cashiers/Sapphire area. Easy and scenic walk around lake Fairfield. Great Mountain View from back patio. Easy access to Sapphire National Golf Course. The place is very spacious with room to spread out for the whole family and it is equipped very well. Roland is responsive and checked in on us periodically to make sure everything was well. I highly recommend staying here!

My family and I had the time of our lives! It was absolutely beautiful and looked exactly like the pictures! Craig was amazing and very fast with his responses! He checked in on us and made sure everything was just as we expected! My mom is disabled and is wheelchair bound and the home even had a ramp to get her into the main floor and that’s hard to find in the mountains! My sister lives in Nantahala and I love visiting up there to see her but we decided to get an Airbnb this time and we will now always stay here! We were blown away! And also the hot tub is massive my whole family basically fit in it! Thanks again Craig!!

Beautiful home on the river that was nicely secluded. The walk down to the river is a bit steep but my 85 year old mom did it just fine. The house was clean, with excellent instructions for check-in and an easy check-out process.

“Perfect Mountain Retreat for Our Group!” Our recent stay at this cabin in Highlands, NC, was absolutely amazing! The property exceeded all our expectations. We were a group of 10 friends. The space was perfect for us. The living areas were spacious enough for all of us to hang out together, yet there were also plenty of cozy nooks for anyone who wanted a bit of quiet time. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to cook meals for a large group, and we loved gathering around the dining table to share stories and laughter. The outdoor space was a highlight—gorgeous views, a fantastic deck, awesome hot tub and plenty of seating to soak in the serene mountain atmosphere. The location was ideal, close to charming down downtown Highlands and Cashiers with great restaurants and shops, as well as beautiful hiking trails. The hosts were incredibly responsive and ensured everything was perfect for our stay. Highly recommend this cabin and these hosts!
