The cottage is one deep breath away from the ocean — we saw the sun set and rise from the upstairs rooms — watched the waves from the living room with the gas fire in the background, sat in the Adirondack chairs on the porch bundled up to greet the morning. The number of amenities and quality of them in the cottage’s galley kitchen is amazing — pots and pans and knives, expresso maker, cooking while viewing the small lighthouse just across the way. Although our host said this is a relatively new listing it did not feel that way — cozy spots to tuck under blankets everywhere, notes to help all over the house. Peaks Island ferry is small — so get on line early if you are bringing your car, but the ride is short and smooth (even in a rainstorm). The local market has most things you’d need. While we stayed 6+ inches of snow and 0 degree temps were predicted and our hosts graciously allowed a delayed check out and reassurance about how the island handles storms. We want to return.

This house was amazing!

Beautiful, peaceful, dog-friendly stay right on the water. Amazing stars at night and great hiking trails all around. Short drive to Camden and Rockland. Leslie and Gordon were so warm and hospitable and we all got a kick out meeting Pilot, especially our dog! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in spite of it being the middle of winter. Hope to return when it's warm out!

What a cute little bungalow. A one room wonder. Milk House was easy to get to and had a couple walks to ocean views. Right on the main road but very quiet. We were prepared for the limited kitchen & were able to make 3 fabulous dinners. Get ready to unwind & unplug.

The perfect getaway to relax! The setting is beautiful and while the cottage is near others, it feels very private. Conveniently located to nearby towns that have lots to offer. I found what I was looking for- a peaceful and restorative winter cottage.

Absolutely worth it! The place the was bigger than we thought and much nicer than photos seem. It’s a beautiful place. Brian is also amazing! He was very responsive and we got stuck going up the driveway due to the snow storm and he came and got us out quickly! Would definitely book with him again! Thank you again so much!

Spacious listing, clean, great amenities, quiet and very easy to check in. We had booked another Airbnb near Acadia for a hiking weekend with my husband, 1.5 year old toddler and dog. The one we chose at first was not what we expected (too small) so we needed to find a new place ASAP. Derek's listing was available to book immediately and we were able to check in very last minute at 9:30 PM. He was very responsive, and we had a great weekend. The place was very clean and spacious and great living room for our child to play and extra bedrooms for him to nap. Room in the backyard for the dog to run around as well. Overall, it was perfect for what we needed for a weekend away to be close enough to Bar Harbor/Acadia.

Nick and Erika have a great apartment near the Eastern Promenade in Portland. They were very communicative, easy to reach and friendly hosts. Their apartment was very clean, well furnished and super comfortable. It was one of the higher priced Air BnB's, but well worth it! I would highly recommend it and will be looking to come back in the future. Thanks Nick and Erika!

Sitting looking out over the bay on a cold early March morning with the fire going was just the type of relaxation we were looking for. The photos don't do it justice. Had fun using the hot tub but just a little too chilly to use the outside fireplace, but Mihai had stocked the wood pile should we have been brave enough. Mihai lives right next door but you'd never know unless you needed him. We didn't. Everything worked. Clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. A lot of thought has gone into renovating this house and it shows in the amenities. The only advice we'd give fellow travelers is the spiral stairwell leading upstairs to 2 of the 3 bedrooms is the smallest I've ever seen. Thought should be given to bringing small children. The master bedroom is on ground level. Otherwise enjoy. It's a magical place and we thank Mihai for being such a gracious host.
