We make a family trip and it was the best place for stay those days! Peaceful environment, the house was super clean and completely prepared with everything! You just need go and relax. Lovely and cozy house :)

We are a family of 6; 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The home was beautiful and comfortable, we all had plenty of space, yet it was very cozy. The location was quiet and centrally located for what we planned to do. The hosts were wonderful and amazing.

Excellent, responsive host. We had an issue with the hot water on Christmas day. He came out and fixed the problem within a half hour. Great location to Vik and Selfoss. Private and quiet, except for the howling winds. Great restaurant close by. Highly reconmend.

Great place with lovely views

Burma’s beautiful home is ideal for anyone who wants two bathrooms (hard to find in Iceland) and plenty of space. It’s in a quaint small town very close to the Golden Circle and not far from Selfoss, which has more substantial amenities. Easy drive to Gullfoss and Geysir, and a small grocery is within walking distance of the house. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The kitchen is modern, functional, and spacious. The outdoor area, including the hot tub, is wonderful in the evening. The nearby restaurants, including those in Reykholt, are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for people who want extra space and don’t want to stay in the busy capital city. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had the pleasure of staying at this home and it was absolutely amazing! It was a perfect way to spend my 40th birthday trip with my friends and family. We only had five people stay at the home but it can accommodate more. The home is located in the county which makes incredible to catch the northern lights. The spa was my favorite, the view morning and night was spectacular! This is a great place to stay if you are looking for peace and high quality. The host was amazing and met us at centralized location to guide us to the property, which would have been challenging otherwise given the remoteness. I hope to visit Iceland again soon!

This place is an absolute gem! We spent thoroughly enjoyed this secluded home. The hot tub was perfect for enjoying an evening outside. The wood burning stove kept us warm and cozy. Everything was wonderful.

Es fehlt der Unterkunft an nichts, sehr schöne Lage, viele Natur Spektakel sind schnell mit dem Auto erreichbar, Polarlichter konnten wir vom beheizten Pool aus sehen und der Gastgeber hat immer schnell geantwortet. Wir waren zu viert und waren allesamt sehr zufrieden.

Perfect house for a group of friends. We spent New Years Eve there and loved it. We even had the luck to see a massive aurora on New Years Eve which made the place even more magical :-) We enjoyed the hot tub, the quiet location and the great kitchen and living room. Beds were comfy, too. Only thing was that the instructions for the hot tub werent up to date and it took a little until we solved it. Other than that everything was perfect :-)

Poulas Hekla Comfort House is a real gem in all of Iceland. In my experience, there are very few houses that are not just holiday houses or cabins, but a ‘real home’. Everything is here and you spontaneously feel so comfortable to enjoy the magic of Iceland. We can highly recommend this house for exploring and enjoying the area between Golden Circle and Vik. The house is super cosy, and the hot tub is a real luxury on a cold winter night. And the best thing is Poula's quick and precise response to all our questions. We thank you very much for your outstanding hospitality.

We had two unfortunate last minute cancellations from other host so didn’t find their place until the day before our stay. It was nicer than either and wish we would have just booked with them first. So, thankful to them for making our last few days in Iceland a perfect end to our trip!

We enjoyed our stay. The lock was frozen upon arrival. We had to call the host (make sure you have cell service) in order to get in. We ended up pouring hot water on the lock to get it to open. The house was nice and warm. The kitchen was great! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub! The shower drain needs to be scrubbed as there is some grime at the shower drain. The house seemed big enough for multiple couples (it was only my husband and I on this stay). We decided to head home early due to a volcanic eruption near the airport during our stay. It was not supposed to impact flights but we left early to be safe. The host would not refund us the two nights we were missing out on. That is her right but if I were her, I would have since we were uncomfortable staying on the chance it impacted the airport. Overall, still would recommend but wanted to outline the issues we had so people are aware.

We had an excellent stay at The Mountain Villa in early February. Hafþór and Björn were gracious hosts, responding to queries quickly and providing clear instructions to find and access the place. The villa itself was as charming and idillic as we had expected, everything was perfectly clean and tidy on arrival and the facilities were fantastic; we particularly enjoyed the sauna and cold plunge after long days exploring. Flúðir was a quiet little village but perfect for what we wanted, with enough options to eat and drink for the short time we were there, and easily walkable from the villa. The hospitality at Restaurant Minilik was particularly excellent, and the Secret Lagoon is definitely worth a visit too! The Mountain Villa was a perfect hub to explore the region, with lots of sights and walks within a 30 minute drive, and a good place to travel further into the South from. Overall, a perfect stay and we hope to visit again in the future! Thank you Hafþór and Björn!

Es war eine tolle Unterkunft. Wir haben uns gleich sehr wohl gefühlt. Alles war so wie beschrieben nur noch schöner. Die Lage der Wohnung war toll und man kann von dort viele Ausflüge machen. Es war alles sehr sauber, die Betten waren super und der Pool außen war ein Traum. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war sehr unkompliziert. Toll war, dass wir von einem vereinbarten Treffpunkt zur Wohnung gebracht wurden, da sie nicht ganz einfach zu finden ist. Am Abend konnten wir aufgrund der Lage tolle Polarlichter sehen. Wir würden sofort wieder in dieses schöne Haus fahren! Danke!

The home was beautiful and spacious. Everything was clean and shiny and the beds were so comfy! The house really does overlook the river. We even saw the best show of the Northern lights from the hot tub!!! It was the perfect place to stay.

AMAZING!!! Runar’s place was even better than we could have imagined. The Northern Lights were extremely visible to the naked eye 3 of the 4 nights we stayed. The back deck was lovely to watch Aurora dance in the sky. The furniture and bed (we only used 1 of the 4) were extremely clean and comfortable! To our surprise, the bathroom floor was heated, which was a lovely touch! We absolutely loved our stay here. It was extremely peaceful and secluded but also so close to town. We have already started talking coming back to Iceland and staying here again. It is the perfect home in the perfect location on the Golden Circle.

Located just outside of Hella, this was a nice escape from the city. While we didn’t opt in for the breakfast or dinner, it was nice having the option available onsite. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved staying at Hjörtur’s property - peaceful, private, cosy, welcoming and exactly as described. The hot tub with geothermal water was the highlight, as it allowed us to observe northern lights from the warm embrace of the healing water, leaving our skin and hair super soft and our bodies and minds super relaxed. The location of the cottage is perfect for exploring the Golden Circle and we couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience in Iceland. Hjörtur was fast to respond to our messages and was extremely helpful. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, private retreat, with options to hike and explore stunning Icelandic landmarks. We will be back!

I’m so grateful that I booked this apartment. Maria was outstanding, very attentive, responded always quickly and she even bake us a delish dessert. Cabin is exactly as described. Bed is good, space is beautiful and I was able to see the auroras from the cabin. Cabin is near the restaurant area of the city and lots of the amazing waterfalls that Iceland has to offer. This was a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks for everything!

A beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous area with stunning views. I used this as my home base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The cabin was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the basics, and there were some lovely touches including chocolate bars, some seltzer, a full carton of milk and cereal. And the heated towel rack was an incredible luxury that I used every day! Sylvia was not there and did not respond to my message telling her what time I would arrive, but her very nice and helpful husband Gylfi greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour. He also came out to say goodbye when I left and we had a nice chat. I would like to have used the hot tub but it wasn't especially clean. I ended up at the nearby hot pot Secret Lagoon anyway, which was great, so it was not a big loss.

A special place that I hope to be able to go back to one day! Beautiful landscape and felt very connected to nature. Evenings in the hot tube looking at the stars is a memory for life! Very responsive and supportive host!
