The place was better than the pictures and description. Absolutely amazing! Perfect place for families. We had five children 2-5 years old and they loved it! Would definitely stay again! I loved how Anna set up toothbrushes and toothpaste in all the rooms with towels. She even added a children's story book to each bed. We were all thrilled to see so many outdoor toys! We had an absolute blast!

This place was amazing. I wish my group had more time to enjoy all of the features. The hosts were very responsive including our need for a later checkout time. i would definitely schedule this location again.

This place is such a great deal for what you get--a spacious home, lovely yard with lots of land, and lots of kid-friendly features. It is very near a highway that is audible since you are up high, but besides that small thing, we just loved our stay! We felt right at home and had lots to do without even leaving the house. The rooms looked like the pictures, and the whole house was just lovely.

Our family of four spent two nights at Callie's Cottage. We had a great time enjoying the trails, fishing the pond, and watching the horses. Our kids had a lot of fun playing in the treehouse. The house was cozy, clean and well appointed.

Place was lovely and exactly as listed. Spacious , great views, clean and lots of DVDs and board games. Highly recommend staying here!

Absolute peaceful oasis. This home gives you every essence of Virginia Wine Country. The home was quaint and the deer came up every morning to greet us. I can’t wait to come back in the summer when the pool is open! Thanks again

This was a great space for a large family getaway. Lots of room to gather together in common spaces/large table as well as the ability to spread out. Kitchen was well equipped with high end appliances. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Wifi was good in some parts of the house, but not all. Know that there may be stinkbugs depending on the time of year, but the house was overall very clean. Would recommend.

Super cozy and comfortable home away from home feel. The decor is amazing and perfectly fits the layout of the home. Upstairs is warmed by the fireplace and spectacular views of the valley and its numerous deer making it easy to melt into quiet contemplation. The stereo is set up to help set the mood. Downstairs, foosball and air hockey plus a great selection of movies provide indoor entertainment. That and the loft ensure there is room for everyone to spread out while still being close. The forest behind provides a great spot for quick hikes and exploring the beauty of the Shenandoah National Park. Dual ovens and coffee pots is a nice plus.

Connie is a great host and the 6-person house in Castleton was a wonderful retreat, just what we were looking for. The house was as fantastic as the photos show. Be sure to see their additional 'Grounds' photos on their website. The hottub was hot, clean and worked great (even in winter). During our visit, the donkey, miniponies, goats and ze-donkey were fun to watch grazing in the fields in the field on the other side of the backyard fence. Stargazing was great at night. A bbq grill was on back deck, and a propane tabletop social 'firepit' which was great for morning coffee hangout. A woodstove (& everything I need to get it started) was in the living room. We walked the paved 4+ mile loop to see more of their animals.

The house and location were perfect and we can’t wait to go back. Bummed to find the fireplace out of service as we intentionally search for properties to relax by the fire. Great communication from hosts.

Huge space great for multiple families. View and setting are serene and perfect for a country escape. Fantastic cooking supplies (pans, blender, utensils, etc.). Bring your own basic ingredients (oil, salt, pepper)!

A great place to stay near Front Royal. The home was clean, well kept and cozy. The only downside was the big dump truck parked out back though we know that isn’t under anyone’s control at the Airbnb. It just took away some of our view. And the National Park entrance was closed so we pivoted and went to a state park. Overall, we recommended this home. It was not too far out of Front Royal. The amenities were a nice touch.

A beautiful home in a very beautiful and peaceful setting. If you need to get away to recharge, this would be a place to do it.

We had a wonderful time in this great house! The house was big with everything you could ask for. Our daughter was getting married at Rock Hill farm which is only 3.5 miles away and the house provided us a quiet, peaceful place to come home to after a busy day and evening. There were sheep grazing beside the house! We didn’t get a chance to tryout the spa and pool, but maybe next time. We highly recommend!!!

We have been to a number of rentals, both Airbnb and others, both in the U.S. and abroad. Walnut Run Farm is BY FAR the warmest, most welcoming, most perfect rental we have ever been to. If the property were for sale we would buy it in a minute, even as we much hope John will continue to keep and care for it for many years as the treasure it is. In renting John's home (and it is absolutely and in every sense a home), you have the chance to live in an extraordinary country house on a large, beautiful piece of idyllic Virginia Piedmont farmland. If you can score a rental at Walnut Run Farm, grab it.

Imagine a luxurious 5-star hotel suite, then add a fully-outfitted kitchen (you could really cook here, more than any Airbnb I've seen). Now place it in the stunning Virginia countryside, near the wild attractions of Shenandoah National Park, right outside a town with height-of-civilization restaurants and bakeries. We could not have asked for a better 3-day get-away spot than The Mint. It wowed us from the start and just kept delivering on comfort, thoughtful & stylish amenities, and peacefulness.

The place is very nice and is located right in the middle of town. But we spoke with Oxana for a few minutes - that was really what takes this listing above and beyond. She was so nice and gave us tons of local recommendations on things to see. Definitely stay here, it's better than anything else you will find nearby.

We spent a lovely Christmas at Gramdma's house. The house was very easy to find using the map reference supplied, and there was plenty of room for parking. The house was very much traditional, with a very much "retro" theme, furnished as it would have been in the 1970s. It was a unique experience, and could never be described as modern! It was very comfortable, well stocked, and Kim was a wonderful host. It is a short, 5 minute walk to the Inn at Little Washington.

Beautiful location. The cottages are a shared space with there being a smaller one behind the rock cottage. Wasn’t really expecting that but they left the next day so we were able to enjoy our stay with some more privacy. Hot tub was fantastic, bathroom spacious, kitchen accommodating. The walk around the meadows seeing all the animals was great. Would recommend.
