This was the perfect place for us to stay for our little getaway to Whitby. It's only a 5 minute drive from the harbour. The surroundings are peaceful and the outdoor spaces for children were ideal for our three year old. The property itself was excellent. We felt right at home straight away. It was well stocked with everything you need and expect from a self catered property with a few little extra bits like snacks & body wash on arrival (which I forgot to bring so a good addition!) The onsite pool was excellent and great value. If we ever return to Whitby we would strongly consider staying here again. John and co-host Rachel were friendly and very responsive to any messages we sent. We highly recommend staying here if you wish to visit Whitby and the surrounding areas.

Lovely house, parking right outside, nice quiet location, house clean and tidy with lots of little things like tea and coffee available. The furniture was comfortable and good Freesat tv. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils and equipment you could need. The bedrooms were light, airy and comfortable with nice bed linen. The bathroom was adequate but the shower let it down slightly, although it was usable it was a bit tight for anyone tall. I can’t see how any improvement can be made as the bathroom is quite compact, this issue by no means detracts from the overall high standard of the house. Outside the house overlooks the river with nice lawns, a picnic bench and communal barbecue. Just over the river lies the railway line, you can hardly hear the trains but get to watch the steam trains going past. The road is a dead end with no passing traffic other than other residents so very quiet. All in all ‘top notch’.

We stayed at this property as a group of 8 for a wedding, it was the perfect place and the best airbnb we had all had the pleasure to stay at. Phil and Elaine were the perfect hosts and from the get go were super friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile stocking up the property, setting the table with wedding themed decorations and the fire pit. The property its self was exactly as advertised, really modern, clean, spacious and had loads of games. I wish we had been able to stay longer to make the most of everything! The value for money was unreal and I absolutely recommend this property to everyone. Would love to come back- thank you so much Phil and Elaine!!

A great place. We had the mother in law with us so the downstairs bedroom and shower room were brilliant for her. Easily accessible with a lovely host. We will stay again when up visiting next time! Thank you Cate.

Stephen always communicated quickly. On arrival the house was spotless with refreshments and sweets provided, which was a nice touch. My Dad is end of life and needed extra equipment which Stephen made sure was available on our arrival. The area was very quiet, although we drove further a field to other areas. Would we stay again, absolutely. It was a good break for us all and Stephen made it possible for my Dad to come on this break for which I’ll always be grateful for. Thank you Stephen

Stayed here for a 2 night New Year break, we were 2 couples. Everything about this cottage is outstanding; everything you would wish for with regards to cleanliness and comfort is exceptional. Everything is finished to a high standard. Having 2 bathrooms is a bonus. The log burner/stove is a great feature, and the hosts kindly lit it before we arrived, which made it very cosy. The hosts were very responsive, and answered any questions very quickly. Would highly recommend this property.

we had a short stay at the bungalow, stayed over the weekend for a family wedding. Everything was as we expected from the information, was lovely clean and spacious., with some personal, practical touches on arrival. it's a lovely place to stay and very accessible to the coast and lovely places to visit.. Denise is friendly and responsive . Would recommend and if travelling on that coast in the future would stay again .

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful and fantastically located cottage. Mitch was freindly and responsive, even given us prior warning of a potential power cut. The house was well equipped, warm and clean. I would recommend staying here.

We absolutely loved our New Year break at Curious Crab. The village is idyllic and the cottage was beautiful. We all felt relaxed and at home. Each room felt very special, the kids loved sleeping in the attic and the open fire was the icing on the cake. Rob was a brilliant host. Very responsive and helpful when needed.

Cottage is in a great location for visiting the nearby coastal villages. It was as described on the listing. Garden was enclosed which was perfect for us as we took our dog along.

A great spot in the NE. Convenient for major attractions. The check in was easy and straightforward. The house was well presented throughout and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with the key needs. My daughter loved the farm and watching the horses go by. Her room downstairs was very comfortable and she loved the space. The main room was up stairs and was comfortable too with good hanging space. It was a last minute booking in that we reserved as we set off-we were very pleased all round and would stay again. Thanks Lottie, we appreciated the quick notice and how responsive you were.

A great central place to stay. Warm and cosy. You can walk along the beach to either Saltburn or Redcar.

Beautiful little seaside village, the house is full of character, comfortable and clean with everything you need. Communication with Emma was spot on throughout. The whole experience is definitely fully worthy of my 5 star review. Thank you Emma, we will be back.

It was the perfect location for a lovely weekend stay in Staithes for a family get together. We were very fortunate that the weather was ok for the first weekend in March. It was lovely to come back to a warm cosy cottage in the evening. Plenty nearby for pubs, restaurants and shops. Everywhere was in easy walking distance.

Lovely cosy cottage within easy walking distance to the sea and village shops and cafes. Marske is a great place to stay. No problem parking outside the cottage. Comfortable beds and sofas. A yummy welcome pack was a nice surprise.

Sarah is by far the best host we have ever had. we have used Air b and b for 5 years. Sarah is very accomadating to any issue arising and communicates very well. Saltburn is a lovelly place to go and the house is within a few minutes walk into the centre so very convenient We have been 4 times and always a pleasure to stay at her house.

I recently visited Whitby for the first time and absolutely loved it! Staying at Hillside View made the experience even better. The place was beautiful and impeccably clean, which made us feel right at home. The decor was charming and the views were simply stunning. Hillside View truly added a special touch to our trip, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning.
