Absolute paradise! This place had everything we were dreaming of and more. Beautiful surroundings, amazing pool, incredible beaches around, super nice and discreet staff and three adorable dogs, which is definitely a plus point to feel at home! CJ went out of her way to help us settle and feel comfortable, it was truly a memorable stay, thank you for everything!!

Wonderful stay, highly recommend! We were four adults staying here for 3 days and our time flew by. The property is located on a stunning, pristine beach. Aside from fishermen in the morning and a spattering of tourists, we had the beach to ourselves for most of the day. The property looks just like the photos - nice rooms and a swimming pool which the staff cleaned daily. A highlight of our stay was the home cooked food. We had fantastic Sri Lankan meals thanks to the villa's team. Only major complaint was the lack of outdoor umbrellas - we had to keep moving our lounge chairs to follow the shade from the trees throughout the day. Also we were able to enjoy swimming but note that the waves on this beach can be deceptively powerful - be careful if you have kids.

The villa is in a great location, a few minutes walk from the idylic Mawella beach. We loved the open air living space that flows into the garden so the kids could hop out of the pool, eat some food, watch TV or play in the communal space and the adults could still relax on the bean bags or in the pool and not have to move too far or worry what the kids were up to! The bedrooms are a good size and the beds are big and comfortable. There's a few small 'shops' within a 5-10 minute walk for essentials but be sure to stock up for convennience. The villa manager, Chamara, is more than happy to help if you ask them in advance and they can head to a larger supermarket for you. Get the number of a tuk tuk so you can order to the villa if you want to head further afield. Chamara came to the villa and cooked breakfast each morning which was great. Again, you need to order in advance which is easy as you can always reach on messages or call. Overall a great stay, Mawella beach is dreamy.

We loved our time at CJ’s villa, she is such a wonderful host and we really appreciated the personal touches and recommendations. We went with two families and the space worked really well. The villa is in a great location, Marwella beach was our favourite family beach on the south coast (and we went to loads over two months!) The location was chilled and undeveloped allowing for that feeling of dream escapism, whilst still being only a short tuk tuk journey to Hiriketiya when we wanted to dip into the energy there. The Villa itself has huge rooms and loads of outdoor space, we saw so much wildlife from the villa- better than the safari!

Such a magic and breathtaking place on earth. The house is quite simple but fresh with separate bedrooms with separate doors. But what a location. Your private paradise beach but with restaurants and small nice hotels as neighbors. Tangalle town is small, friendly and with amazing restaurants. Quite and genuine. To the left you have long beaches with sea turtles. To the right more friendly to swim. The ocean is so close and the only surprise was how roaring the Tangalle coast ocean is. Bring earplugs plugs for better sleep. But all worth it waking up walking two meters and tipping the toes in sand. In your own private villa. We were a family of four and enjoyed the bedrooms, bathrooms en suite and cosy balcony and outdoor terass.

Ranjith ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber, immer um seine Gäste bemüht und besorgt. Die Villa mit dem wunderschönen und für uns, perfekten Garten ist schwer zu toppen. Geetha versorgt den Garten sehr liebevoll und unaufdringlich. Die Ausstattung mit den Ventilatoren auf der Terrasse und Klimaanlagen im Haus ist sehr durchdacht. Auch die Beleuchtung sorgt für sehr angenehme Stimmung. Wir haben uns schweren Herzens von Ranjith, Geetha und der wunderschönen Villa getrennt.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay away from the crowds very much. It felt like sleeping in our own tiny house in the jungle. The host was very friendly and helped us to get local tuktuk drivers, since it's a bit further from restaurants and beaches. We can highly recommend this place.

What a paradise. Super relaxing between 2 beaches,one less busy with calm waters for swimming , the other compact , busy and with surf. Both a 5 minute walk. The house an oasis tastefully decorated,wonderful views , with peacocks, monkeys, kingfishers and more visiting the garden. To cap it all, the housekeepers , kamara and nushka were on hand to make everything a wonderful holiday. From our welcome, to cooking some wonderful Sri lanken food., keeping the place clean and tidy and sorting out transport for local trips, airport transfers etc. as well as organizing a local doctor. Thanks for allowing us to stay. It was a privilege. Now working, to save and hopefully 1 day return.

Serdecznie polecamy to miejsce. Czyste, komfortowe, w ustronnym miejscu z daleka od hałasu. Bardzo dużo miesjca do wypoczynku w kilka osób. Na miejscu cały czas jest osoba, która pomaga w razie potrzeby. Cudowny basen. Na miejscu kuchnia do dyspozycji, w razie potrzeby także kucharz. Bardzo fajne miejsce dla osób, które cenią sobie komfort, ciekawy design i odrobinę luksusu w Azji. Nie ma klimatyzacji na miejscu, bo willa jest w otwartej formie i to może komuś przeszkadzać

Hervorragend gelegen mit direktem Zugang zum wunderschönen Strand mit kleinen Bars und Restaurants. Das Haus ist wie beschrieben und traumhaft großzügig. Alle Schlafzimmer mit Bad ensuite und Balkon oder Terrasse mit Blick in den Garten und zum Strand. Herrlich erholsam und ein Top -Team vor Ort. Beste Küche, jeder Wunsch wurde übererfüllt. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

Myself, my wife and our two young children had a fantastic time at Vila Tila! The house is spacious and clean, the pool is huge and spotless and the beach which can be reached through a gate at the back of the garden is quiet and unspoiled. We saw monkeys, lizards, mongoose and also helped baby turtles reach the sea from their hatching point on the beach. All of this aside, the best part of our stay was the staff - Thusara and his team were kind, attentive, and so helpful! Most importantly, the food they prepared for our breakfasts and dinners was absolutely incredible - curries, fresh seafood, meals for the kids, banana fritters…all absolutely delicious. The location of the house feels quite remote but there are things to see and do within a short drive and of course, Rekawa beach is on your doorstep. It is the perfect location to chill, unwind and relax - and you will be well looked after :)

Unser Aufenthalt im Kadju House war einfach wunderbar. Das Haus selbst ist atemberaubend – elegant gestaltet, umgeben von üppiger Natur und mit einem traumhaften Blick auf das Meer. Der Service war wirklich außergewöhnlich. Chamara und sein Team haben alles getan, um unseren Aufenthalt perfekt zu machen. Ihre herzliche Gastfreundschaft haben uns unglaublich willkommen und umsorgt fühlen lassen. Jedes Detail wurde mit so viel Liebe und Sorgfalt bedacht. Ein besonderes Highlight war der Infinity-Pool, der eine spektakuläre Aussicht bot und der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen war. Der Koch hat uns mit den köstlichsten Gerichten verwöhnt, alle traditionell und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt ein wahr gewordener Traum. Alles – von der atemberaubenden Lage über den exzellenten Service bis hin zum hervorragenden Essen – war einfach perfekt. Wir vergeben aus ganzem Herzen 5 Sterne und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. The villa was very nice with everything that we needed. It is very calm and peaceful - for u our family the perfect stay.

Our group stayed 4 nights at Simon’s house in Kalemetiya. What a treat ! we felt like movie stars with their own private beach front home. The house is large and well appointed with 4 well spaced bedrooms with en suite. The house has a large lawn from the rear leading to the beach with a pool area a children’s pool, a covered veranda and then a small wooden fence leading to the ocean. We would get our massages in the covered area, listening to the waves and also do yoga there. Dinesh and Runi took amazing care of us. Rooney cooked our breakfast and did laundry and kept the place spotless. Dinesh arranged massages, recommended restaurants drove us to Colombo. He also hosted our driver and Guide. Simon, the host was responsive and flexible. In the morning, you could walk along the beach and see the villagers fishing with their traditional boats. The beach is very clean. It is very wavy and not the best place for swimming, but you can definitely take dips. An amazing place.

We had such a fantastic time in Muhudu Niwasa. The property is located right by the beach with a beautiful garden ladened with coconut trees. The setting was perfect for us to truly unwind and enjoy the beauty the place had to offer. The property had plenty of rooms and beds and the view from the master bedroom with it's long balcony was breath-taking. We went as a group of 7 (incl. 2 small children) and the property catered for what we all needed. Spending time in the swimming pool was a special highlight as both our 5 year old and 3 year old developed a love for swimming while we were there. We felt safe at all times with plenty of activities nearby. Most of all, a very big thank you to Pradeep and Tharakka who took care of us exceptionally well. They were courteous and available and made us feel right at home. We also went kayaking with Pradeep twice as it was such a great experience. Tharakka also took us around in his tukuk which was practical and a lot of fun.

Es war ein Traum! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und konnten uns super entspannen. Unsere drei Jungs haben den Pool genossen und die Nähe zum einsamen Strand war das besondere Highlight! Das zubereitete Frühstück war so lecker und die Leute waren sooo lieb. Dank Amith, dem sehr liebenswürdigen TukTuk Fahrer und seinen wertvollen Tipps und Empfehlungen hatten wir immer einen perfekten Aufenthalt! Vielen Dank für die unvergesslichen Tage!

We were so lucky to discover the Coconut Cottage as our first place to stay in Sri Lanka! Andy was an incredible host, booking us transfers from the airport, meeting us at the house on arrival, sharing a wealth of local knowledge and was super friendly and responsive during our stay. The house is only a two minute walk from the beach, cafes and restaurants of Hiri and very clean and stylish – and we all (family of four) loved the pool and back garden (and watching the monkeys swing around in the trees!). Thank you Andy and Sachira for a fab stay! Would highly recommend.

Une villa bien placée a deux pas de l'océan, avec une belle piscine et et une grande cuisine bien équipée pour ceux qui veulent se faire du bon poisson frais acheté au marché en revenant des très belles plages autour de Tangalle... nous avons adoré notre séjour...trop court... Car notre arrivée à Mirissa ( trop touristique) nous fait déjà regretter Tangalle.... Nous aurions dû séjourner plus longtemps chez Sergey, car en plus nous avons eu un excellent accueil de Suresh et son épouse 👍 Bref, nous recommandons fortement cet endroit 🙏. Par contre, si vous voulez découvrir les alentours, il vaut mieux être motorisé ( tuk tuk ou scooter)

I had an incredible stay at this beautiful property for two days. The private beach was a dream, and I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to witness turtle hatchlings making their way to the ocean at night. It was truly magical. The Sri Lankan food prepared by the cook was absolutely delicious some of the best I’ve ever had! The staff were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, they also arrange a candle light dinner I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, unique getaway!

I almost don't want to review this as I would like to keep the place a secret but that would be selfish! We couldn't recommend staying in Whispering House more. Upal and his son were incredible hosts, cooking us delicious breakfasts. The house was spacious and perfect for our 2 year old to run around in, and the pool was great and a safe distance away. The location was perfect for us, restaurants close by but also quite quiet. Beautiful beaches along the coast too made for great day trips. upal sorted us out with everything we needed including a lovely lady who came and cooked for us and helped look after our child in the afternoon. Really couldn't recommend this more if you are looking for a family holiday in a stunning location with lovely lovely people.

This is a wonderful place to stay. You have to like, or at least be comfortable with nature and wildlife as it is predominately outdoors and you will be visited by any number of critters. I ended up having to work more than I had anticipated so, spent a lot of time on the property but this wasn't a hardship as it is so beautiful and peaceful. My every wish was fulfilled, almost before I requested things (like an oven, fridge/freezer, blender, etc.), making this the most responsive place I have ever stayed. The icing on this cake were the housekeepers, Lalith and Sriyani for whom nothing was too much trouble. They were kind, very helpful, funny and knowledgeable, bringing me little goodies most days. I highly recommend The Yellow House for a peaceful break.
