Cute, convenient and affordable flat close to great pubs (Golden Lion) (Staff of Life), a great Thai restaurant (3 Monkeys), a great Pizza place(Site Pizza). I took a wonderful class in town and my husband had lovely walks each day by the canal which our deck overlooked. And there’s a great antique store right across the street. Nick was warm, welcoming and flexible with our check in and full of recommendations.

We booked the apartment to celebrate a 60th birthday with family. The apartment is beautiful, lots of attention to detail and spacious and very responsive hosts. Lovely views across the canal and the hills. Particularly liked walking along the canal for breakfast and the local pub is only across the road. Loved it so much, we booked to come back again whilst still staying there.

Loved our stay here! Properly cosy and charming and above all, great location for walks, pubs and restaurants. Centre of town and the new Hepworth Gallery just a short drive away; YSP just a short drive the other way – great attractions! And a pleasure to come back here after a day out. We had a great 10 night stay. The house had everything a family could need including everything for a baby like a gate for the stairs, high chair, cot and baby bath. The house also had lots of games and toys perfect for a rainy day. The kitchen had all the appliances you need to cook food for a family of four including herbs and spices and a dishwasher. As well as a great washing machine, dryer and ironing board with all soap and detergents provided. There were plenty of towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and hand soap was provided as well as cleaning supplies. Most importantly house was cosy and warm all the time despite the cold weather. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and the owners were very polite and quick to respond. Highly recommend!!!

Michelle is an exceptional host —thoughtful, accommodating, and highly responsive. She has truly gone above and beyond, equipping the property with everything you could possibly need to feel at home. The accommodation was immaculate, perfectly located in the heart of the area yet offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere for a restful stay amidst beautiful surroundings. I would highly recommend

Amy and Oliver - I actually have no words for how amazing this place was! I first put it in my wishlist a long while back and somehow stumbled upon it again to stay for the first time this weekend. My family and I were completely amazed at absolutely everything - every detail and the handiwork you have both put into this place is just immaculate. I’m so grateful I was able to find this place - it was so homely, so clean, absolutely stunning, the most equipped place we’ve stayed in and so much more. My only complaint is that we wish we stayed LONGER! I hope you will continue to keep your home open as it’s an amazing place to stay - we hope to be back (and perhaps with others who haven’t been blessed to see it yet). Thank you for everything you supplied us with this weekend - we were fascinated by everything and we are still talking about the home now that we’re home! We wanted somewhere just out the town centre where we could walk into if we wanted. The apartment was just perfect, it was all we could of wanted . Clean , modern , quiet and fabulous location. We love walking and running so this property location was perfect as it was right on the country lane that takes you to Fountains Abbey. No issues parking on the side road. Lovely walks along the river and canal Lots nice places to eat

The apartment is as described - cosy, compact and with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thought has gone into details - such as nice toiletries in the bathroom and a ‘Struggling to sleep’ box by the bed. Andy, the host, was helpful and easy to contact. Another great stay here and I would love to come back again if I am in the area. Thank you Andy.

There were some initial issues which were sorted immediately when I contacted the host. Fab communication from the host. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend for families, our son absolutely loved it.

A lovely stay at Max’s Hideaway. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the welcoming pack, with biscuits and wine included, was a special touch. The apartment is conveniently situated for the centre of Whitby and West Cliff. We parked our car in the allocated parking space and there it remained for the whole holiday. The host let us know we could park early and informed us when we could get into the apartment, which was much earlier than expected and much appreciated. We would certainly recommend to others. Hosts communicated well with me before arriving and when I got they there they had put the heating and the kettle on! Flat was exceptionally clean and perfect for a trip away for work. Kitchen was fully functioning and well equipped and the extra touches like milk and breakfast items were much appreciated. Hosts were very friendly but also respected my privacy and their two Labradors sealed it for me! Would definitely stay again for work or a short break
