Lovely bedroom and bathroom which were very nicely decorated and very clean. Dinner and breakfast at the pub were very tasty and good value. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great for just off the A66 which made an excellent stop off place. Would thoroughly recommend.

Only negative is that we couldn't stay for longer! We stayed in the Garden room for 1 night at the end of our trip to the Lakes but will definitely be returning when we're back in the area. Beautiful and quiet surroundings, perfect for our springer spaniel - the dog blankets were extra helpful to have! Thanks again 😊

Pretty good location. Everything is just perfect considering the price, except the room is bit of cold, remember to bring warm clothes!

Booked at the last minute fory birthday - everything in our room was perfect and ready for us to check in early despite booking late in the night before - clean and tidy/the location is absolutely perfect close to the lake and the shops and pubs ect. Richard was a great host throughout and we even got to see the badgers in their front garden!

Excellent lodging in a lovely pub with a great selection of food and beers etc. Quiet location a couple of miles from Appleby centre. Highly recommended.

Only stayed for a night, but room had all the amenities needed and more. I had an early start before a bike race and so found the fridge and microwave in the room very helpful to cook my own dinner and breakfast. Room was generally clean and well maintained, and Vikki was very helpful and responsive to my questions, with checkin/out being straightforward. I would highly recommend and would stay again. Ruth & James could not have been more welcoming or friendly. The location of the accommodation is superb and less than two minutes walk from central Keswick. Good facilities, large room and comfortable bed. Happy to recommend.

We stayed here for four nights, and wish we could have stayed longer! It's so peaceful and cosy. The cottage has everything you need, including beautiful views and a wonderful fireplace. An amazing place to relax and unwind. Warm rooms, a good shower, and a suntrap on the deck out front. There is good phone signal (and WiFi) if you need it, but it's a great place to be tech-free. Close to all of the Roman "attractions". Anne and Maurice were very friendly and welcoming. We will be recommending to friends!

We had a lovely couple of days at this beautiful cottage. The location is perfect, really close to the local pub where we had a delicious dinner. Lots of walking trails close by and great location if you want to do the three peaks. Samantha was really helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend and would love to stay again

The Boathouse was an absolutely amazing accommodation - we were getting married at Healey Barn & couldn’t recommend it enough. The hosts were extremely friendly & helpful - the place was spotless, facilities were amazing & location couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed dog walks around Riding Mill & particularly liked the local pub (The Wellington). Not sure you’ll find better accommodation in the area!

A fantastic cottage spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a wonderful position. The owners live next door and were very welcoming and friendly. Upon our arrival there was milk, muffins, 7butter and a bottle of fizz. A great stay and we would not hesitate to go back.

Sarah and Brian were super friendly, accommodating and communication was very good. We booked last minute and had everything we needed for a very relaxing overnight stay on our journey from Scotland to home in Chepstow. I would highly recommend staying here and if we are ever in the area again, would definitely book to stay with them again.

This was our second stay in this lovely cottage. It was peaceful, relaxing and spotlessly clean. Hilary had thought of everything to ensure we had an enjoyable time. The welcome pack was one of the best we have ever received. We will be returning.

Working in the area, looked for somewhere affordable and this static fit the bill. Ideal for anyone needing a place to stay if working in the area and I'll be certainly coming back - the have the whole caravan for the price per night rather than a bedroom in a shared house makes this excellent value for money. The hosts are very helpful, friendly and welcoming !

My husband and I had a great time staying here. The cottage is absolutely lovely! I really appreciated the pretty and cozy decor and finishings. As an artist, Dorothy knows what she's doing and has created a lovely place to relax and unwind. We brought our road bikes and were thrilled with the rides that we did along Swaledale and up a bit out of the valley. The bath and the stove were very welcome after our rides! We are fully intending to come back here to stay longer. We also particularly enjoyed a meal at the Kings Head along the road in Gunnerside (can recommend the steak pie!).

For a solo traveler I felt safe and at home. The location is good especially if you want visit scafell pike with only being 30 mins away. I would definitely stay here again
