Brett and Penny have created a lovely and peaceful place to stay. They are warm and welcoming hosts who instantly made us at home and were great to chat with. Gorgeous view of the lake from their rooms and terrace. Nice breakfast included and use of hottub on a rainy afternoon!

I had a one-night stay to break up my trip home. I wish I could have stayed longer. Alan and Elaine were superb hosts, very friendly and helpful. It's a stunning environment with spectacular views. The bed was so comfortable, the communal lounge area lends itself to casual chats with other guests, the bathroom/shower was quite possibly the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen. Everything was just beautiful. After a very busy holiday, having a night of much needed solitude and expansive views was soul restoring. I would definitely stay again on my next trip north.

We had such a lovely stay at Sharon and Graeme's place, it was a very peaceful place to come back to relax between hard days hunting. We met Rachel on our first day there befire we headed off hunting again she was so lovely and friendly. There was absolutely everything you could need, my husband loved the fresh milk and the ginger crunch. The bed was so comfortable. We didnt have the opportunity to make use of the kitchen during our stay but it was very refreshing to see a full kitchen. Great amount of firewood for heating the home (not that we needed to light a fire as the home was so warm and cozy already) Well worth the money spent, we look forward to coming back again soon hopefully with our children next time

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Honor’s place — we were so lucky to find it and it answered everything that we needed. The house was immaculate and beautiful settled in a wonderful garden and less than a minute to the river and we couldn’t have had a nicer time with the perfect hosts.

My room was lovely, with a cozy bed that ensured a restful sleep. I also really enjoyed the shared breakfast, which was delicious and made even better by great conversations with Elaine and a lovely Swedish couple who were also staying there. A true oasis of comfort. I highly recommend staying here!"

Amazing couple that did everything to make us feel welcome. They played cheerfully with our infant daughter and we could use herbs for cooking. You have a beautiful view from different balkonies, can eat outside and it's just a few (plenty: it'll take you longer than 2 minutes 😉) steps down to the bay.

Richard was the perfect host! Went above and beyond; super friendly and accommodating. The place is quaint and clean. Good breakfast with an array of spreads. No request is too small or too big. What an absolute gem in Turangi.

Alison and Ron were so kind and friendly. The space was very comfortable, especially the beds. Nice little bathrooms attached to each room as well!

I didn't stay here personally but my best friend did. She said it was amazing. Clean, tidy, great location. She said Jane went above and beyond. I spoke back n forth with Jane when booking the air bnb and she was super helpful.

If the Airbnb algorithm smiles on you & tucks this little gem in your search bucket, you’d be wise to reserve. We’re still asking ourselves-did this really happen; or was it all a dream we had in the most comfortable bed in a perfect apartment overlooking the beautiful lake as waves lulled us to a peaceful sleep. Then the most amazing NZ culinary delights you could dream of, lovely conversations, wonderful recommendations-a fish on the line, amazing carvings via paddleboard, a swim. The kindest people you could ever meet sharing inspiration and best example with the world.

I had a wonderful stay at Joanne’s who was friendly, helpful and made me instantly feel at home. We had great conversations. My room was lovely and I had a great night’s sleep. The breakfast was delicious especially due to all the homemade options. Would highly recommend to anyone. I look forward to my next visit.

Everything was seamless, comms, interaction etc. Tony was very friendly and welcoming. Both he and Suzi were great to chat with. Their home accomodation was very fresh, modern, well appointed and comfortable.

Barb and Mike are amazing hosts and we had a lovely and comfortable stay at Tongariro Adventures. The national park is only a short drive away. The waterfront is a few steps away and there are amazing trails around the area. Barb and Mike’s place exceeded our expectations and their hospitality made us feel very welcome. Also, top marks for the amazing breakfast!!

Perfect stay in impeccable accomodation, Tony was very welcoming and his house is perfect and functional with good facilities. Tony offered us an amazing breakfast and prepared scrambled eggs for us, thank you again for this welcome. I recommend Tony's accomodation.

I normally leave 5 stars because everything is fine or as expected, but I would leave this place 6 stars if I could. It’s far and away the best AirBnB I have stayed at. The place itself is very tranquil, homey and a great spot to unwind, yet also only 5 minutes into town for restaurants. Melana was such a great host from offering a welcome drink and snack, to giving local restaurant suggestions, to providing a choice of hot breakfast in the morning. I only stayed one night, but would definitely seek her place out again the next time I’m back in the area.

Absolutely lovely B&B after the Timber Trail. Many of the timber trail guides up in Ongarue seem to live in the area and are therefore happy to give a ride. The room was clean, comfortable, and nice artifacts and decor around the house, which feels like a French manor. (Also 3 friendly cats and a dog, and breakfast waiting for us downstairs in the morning.)
