The Skoolie was such a neat and fun experience! We were looking for a place close by to hike the VA Channels (30-35 mins). The bus was clean and bathhouse provided hot showers daily. The property was beautiful and relaxing. Casey was informative and flexible to work with given a last minute date change on our reservation. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The stay was amazing! We saw so many animals! everything was so clean and the place was so cute!!

Airbnb should add a search category for homes with live plants. It was a really nice touch to an already amazing house. We loved everything about our stay - the home was comfortable, clean and spacious, the adorable town was very walkable, and the hosts were welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful week at Joe and Libby’s home. It was comfortable and so attractively and tastefully decorated. We grilled out several nights, sat on the rockers on the front porch to read, enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful landscape and just had a really relaxing stay. We biked and walked on the Virginia Creeper Trail and shopped in historic downtown Abingdon, which was only 15 minutes from the house. Joe and Libby were thoughtful and very responsive hosts, checking with us to be sure we had everything we needed. This was our second visit to Abingdon and definitely won’t be our last. Thank you, Joe and Libby!

Extraordinary welcome. It was a WOW entrance. Exceptional decor. It was a warm and welcoming interior with a spa like bath and a design that communicated tranquility and rest. Excellent communication. Attention to detail - the best. Whatever you need, Janice has anticipated and addressed. Extra-effort put forth. My wife and I had been traveling four weeks when we decided to veer toward Abingdon instead of our home (in NC). We asked to wash clothes in the shared laundry room… you might be surprised to know how happy that ‘Sure!’ sounded when we received it. We highly recommend this place. We may even gift our children with a stay there. Abingdon is a special place; ‘The Nest’ makes it even ‘special-er’!

We enjoyed our stay at Roscoe’s Retreat so much! The loft was very comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Carey provided many special touches that were thoughtful and appreciated. We loved the “coffee station” and the big comfy couch. Next time we will spend more time walking around town! We come to the area to visit family and will definitely stay here whenever we can!!

We stayed at Doug’s place initially for 1 month, and enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay for another month… need I say more? Everything was perfect!! The location is very convenient (less than 10 min. to Abingdon), and the country setting is quite beautiful and very peaceful. The home itself was spotless and we were lacking for nothing as far as available amenities. Doug was great at communication and being accommodating. Would highly recommended and would definitely return! Doug, thanks s again for sharing your home.

The home is in a beautiful college area. The home itself is beautiful, very clean and orderly. We are a family of 8 and the home had more than enough space for lounging and sleeping.
