Absolutely serene quiet place to stay. House has such a unique and fun layout and is very accommodating. Very private location along a flowing creek. I only wish we could stay longer than a quick weekend getaway. Heather is an AMAZING host!! Extremely responsive and friendly. Daydreaming of being back already. Thank you so much Heather for the wonderful space!!

The house is great! Lovely and quiet. We saw at least 10 deer one morning walking through the backyard. The only thing of issue is the house was very cold unless the fireplace was going. There didn't seem to be enough heaters or we couldn't find the central heating furnace controls. But the fireplace is gorgeous and the owners provided plenty of firewood. It's still 5 stars! One entire side of the house is just windows that look up at the mountains. An absolutely beautiful view. The hosts provided clean towels, linens, cookware, and the house was clean. The town is small but very cute and everyone we spoke with was very friendly. The house is close to a few hot springs and the Sand Dunes. At night you can all of the stars. Highly recommend, just be aware of how cold it gets. We'll be staying there again someday, probably in the summer!!

We had an amazing stay at Jeff and Ruth’s place! They were incredibly kind and accommodating, even when we arrived late at night. The house itself is absolutely beautiful—truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and Jeff had already started the fireplace, making it warm and welcoming upon arrival. The scenery around the house is breathtaking, especially at night when you can see an endless sky full of stars. We visited the Great Sand Dunes National Park, which was about an hour away, but the drive was stunning and made the commute enjoyable. Overall, an unforgettable experience, and we would absolutely stay here again!

Great spot - some idiosyncrasies of the location (they built the place themselves!) but we had a wonderful time there overall and the area is wonderful.

We booked this place for an annual NYE getaway and it exceeded all expectations. In 10 years of planning trips like these in Colorado I've never had a place with a kitchen as well stocked as this one. The location was beautiful with stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo range, and we had near daily encounters with wildlife. I cannot recommend this location enough.

What a gorgeous home! It had everything you need for the people and the pup. It's a great alternative then some plain old home on airbnb, this home was so artistic and warm. The backyard was well fenced in for the dog and plenty of driveway space. Everything was spelled out in the instructions. We look forward to another get-a-way here.

I had the most incredible time. The views of the mountains are one way up the road and views of the valley are the other way. The forested/creek trails right out the back door were a major plus for my dog and I. Ruth has her place set up like a mindful sanctuary and it was very peaceful. The wood stove had all supplies needed and made for super cozy mornings and nights. The home had all essentials you’ll need if you choose to stay fully retreated, but the town and beyond also has major highlights and offerings as well - Apothecary with made to order drinks, galleries, stupa, grocery + Sand dunes an hour away. Ruth answered questions I had and was communicative and friendly. I highly recommend this lodging if you’re hoping for some quiet reflection time near a mountain town that is perfectly eccentric, creative, spiritual, and makes you feel right at home.

If you're looking for the perfect mix of beauty, privacy, and cozy charm, this is it! Tucked right by Valley View Hot Springs, this little oasis was everything we needed and more. Dana, our incredible host, went above and beyond—when we got stuck in a snowstorm and couldn’t make it the first night, he was unbelievably kind and understanding. He even gifted us the sweetest little succulent clippings (which we’ll now cherish as a reminder of this magical place). After a long day of soaking, we came back to a warm fire already going, which was the absolute dream scenario. The house itself? Spotless. The bed? So comfy we considered smuggling it home (but we restrained ourselves). And the bonus features—two adorable cats and a few delightful goats—just sealed the deal. Already scheming our return trip. If you’re on the fence, just book it. You won’t regret it.

My family and I stayed here Christmas week and it was was great. The scenery is beyond words. The home is also better than we expected. We would definitely stay here again.

This house was a quiet and peaceful place to stay for a week. The kitchen was so easy to cook in, the views from the living room and office/second bedroom were gorgeous, the house was sparely decorated and very peaceful. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, and within walking distance of a wonderful mountain trail. We enjoyed our restorative stay very much. The house was very cozy and warm for our stay in late December.

What a beautiful and relaxing spot! The A-frame was easy to access, incredibly cozy, and had everything we needed on hand. We found ourselves admiring the decor inside - everything fit together perfectly to add to a feeling of relaxation and beauty and serenity! The property itself is amazing, the river access is fantastic and the riverside deck with firepit, and the patio connected to the house with the beautiful views were our favorite places to be. We also discovered a great place for breakfast just down the road (Our Place Cafe) with friendly staff and great food. The host was very quick to respond and gave us everything we needed. An added bonus, our dog loved the spot as well!

My family and I had a great time staying at Clarissa's place! It's located just a short drive outside the town of Salida, and is both peaceful and private. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, there were tons of games for the kids, and the cabin was very clean. We spent our weekend going on hikes, fishing the Arkansas river, and enjoying what nature had to offer. 5 out of 5 stars for sure. We'll be back! PS: She has an excellent vinyl collection that I strongly recommend checking out.

This is the second time we’ve stay at Celia’s home. The home is well stocked and taken care of. There are many things to do in the area including the sand dunes, alligator farm, ufo watch tower and the hot springs. Would love to come back again next year.

We really enjoy this place! It is very relaxing, has very comfy beds, super quiet, and the hot tub was excellent after a hard day of work and play. Charley is a really great guy who worked with us when I had made a big mistake in my booking. I can't recommend Charley or his place enough. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I rented this cabin for Valentines weekend, and it was exactly as described. The owners are on property but it felt very secluded as the back porch where the hot tub is, is private and away from everything. This cabin was very homey and we absolutely loved the fire burning stove, after sitting in the hot tub out in winter it was what we needed to come and warm up by. The owners supplied the wood for us, and had it started before we even got there. They had all the amenities that we needed to make food. We absolutely loved this little get away and want to do it again.

The cleanest, and most furnished short-term rental we have ever stayed in. From the all natural and local soaps, to all the office supplies you could ask for if you needed to work. Beds and couches were 10/10 comfort. They thought of every big and small detail. We will be back!

Beth is a great host, very responsive, helpful, & understanding. The place was so peaceful. My whole family spent time in the hot tub and massage chair, played corn hole, attempted to fish in icy water, & slept well in the beds. We went to the great sand dunes, the royal gorge bridge, mt Princeton hot springs, and monarch mountain… made loads of wonderful memories! Very appreciative of Beth and this place they shared with us!

This was a great place to stay! It was peaceful, very safe for our dog, the hot tub was great to relax in and the furnishings were comfortable. There were so many trails to hike close by, as well as within an hour drive. The 3 local restaurants were very good, just be aware that you will wait quite awhile for your order. The town of Crestone is small, friendly and laid back, which is refreshing!

Cute place to stay when visiting the Great Sand Dunes NP. This location is a dark sky community so the stars are incredible! We loved the hot tub. This place is comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay!
