Fantastic place! It was quiet and felt like a private paradise (even though it is like a little resort with maximum 11 guests). Unfortunately you can't swim in the lagoon but the pool and garden made up for it. The cook and the staff were very nice and we felt very welcome and the food was delicious!

If you are looking for a place which is out of daily hustle of the city and love to be with tranquilizing nature then 'First house' in Mihintale is the one you need. Hosted by Nuwan a modest man who is well experienced in tourism industry and is ready to extend all possible help to plan your trip. His mother a very soft spoken lady, great cook and takes all the pain happily to maintain all house and premise. Rohan, Nuwan elder brother a real kind hearted person who always spare some time from his busy schedule to make your smooth visits to all nearby tourist attractions with 'Rangana' by his side. Rangana is well behaved and has articulated the best tourist guide in his tuk tuk ride. Having hot Sri Lankan breakfast in the varandha whilst watching and listening to the chirps of all the birds around makes me relive my best memories. Attending family function with Rohan was a opportunity to know cultural resemblance. Short tour for wild life watch was a unexpected surprise given by Rohan For me the First house will be certain place in the next Sri Lankan visit to meet my buddy Nuwan, Rohan & Loving Amma

Samith was extremely helpful and responsive. The hotel is beautiful and we chose to stay in the stylish wooden beach chalets. As an eco lodge, there is no air conditioning but the fans and chalets were perfectly cool. There is also no heated water but so the showers are warmer in the afternoon on a hot day but cold all day if it’s a cloudy day! Kalpitiya is very windy, and therefore, a great destination for kite surfing which was really fun, even for a beginner! It is a great alternative if you want some peace and quiet. The food was fantastic, especially if you happen to be there for their bbq nights which has seasonal produce including fresh fish, squid, prawns, chicken etc. The only slight criticism is that some stretches of beach are littered with plastic, which is common to other parts of Sri Lanka, although it is clear that the hotel has made efforts to go green and I would thoroughly recommend it!

It’s a nice place hidden just near the town area but peaceful and felt like home away from home. All the essentials for a short stay is there and surprisingly water dispenser with a full bottle was ready to use. Thank you very much for the comfortable stay.

beautiful resort , a friendly and a warm host Mr Venu .. being a solo traveller vacationing , Mr Venu and his team ensured I was taken care of well even in terms of my safety .. the service is impeccable and the view from the lagoon is amazing.. I will recommend this place to everyone travelling to kalpitiya.. the location n accessibility is also very good 😊..

If we could we would give them 6 stars here. The staff of the lodge was extremely helpful with any needs that we had. The whole site was spotless as well as the rooms there. It was the perfect place for us with the right ambiance for some relaxation. The food of the restaurant was amazing and we ate most of the time there because we couldn't find anything more delicious. Heads up to the team there. Keep up the good work. A big recommendation of this place from our side. It is really good value for money.
