It was actually better than I was hoping for and I already had high hopes. We had a great time.

It’s a beautiful place for outdoor activities. The birds chirping in morning. The lake right outside is nice. The clean pools…Easy to check in. Friendly staff. The only thing was 2 of the blankets were stained, even the mattress protectors, one had a small hole in it, It did not have any toilet paper luckily we had some napkins. We also had all kitchen needs except knifes other then that is was all good.

Perfect Blend of Comfort and Nature! - This place is a paradise for families! The waterfront cabin at Son’s Rio Cibolo exceeded all our expectations. It combined the comfort of a home with the beauty of nature. The cabin was beautifully furnished, and the surroundings were breathtaking. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. They have so much for the whole family to enjoy: kayaking, paddleboarding, heated pools, hot tubs, firepits, nature trails, basketball & volleyball courts & more! I highly recommend you staying here, you will not be disappointed.

We were very impressed with our cabin and enjoyed the convenience and location. The managers of Soggy Dollar were extremely friendly and helpful, including the store, bar and tubing rentals next door. Great place on the Guadalupe River.

First and foremost, Maggie was an excellent host! Very friendly and helpful throughout all parts of our stay. The area is beautiful! Very peaceful and relaxing, and not too far from the larger towns you may be interested in. The main attraction, Charlie the deer, is very friendly and it was such a neat experience getting so up close and personal with him. He followed us on a walk and enjoyed the variety of treats we gave him (we learned he loves carrots, chips, and ham was his overall favorite!) If you’re traveling with dogs, this is a great place for you. Not only is the area around the house fully fenced in, but there are even nice kennels indoors as well. Our dogs loved the area and getting to run freely, which is hard to find on Airbnb. 100% worth the trip and I highly recommend.

Great stay! A very welcoming and beautiful place! I’d recommend booking this place in Spring or Summer as in winter the outside patio it’s too cold but the place itself is so beautiful, well maintained and the communication with the hosts and co-hosts is insightful and very friendly. I loved every minute of my stay here. 10/10!

Place was set up perfectly and the kitchen was even well stocked with enough supplies that “breakfast provided” could be advertised. Donna was responsive and super relaxed as a host and it made the experience feel homey and distant from the noise back home. 10/10 would rent again!

Second time here. Great stay and fun place! Hot tub was just right, basketball under the lights was fun and even tho it was cold outside, our tent/cabin was warm and cozy. One night it was really windy and the tent sides flapping was a little bothersome because I’m a light sleeper, but other than that one night we had great sleep on comfy beds. Highly recommend!

My weekend getaway to The Redbird was just what I needed! Relaxing, peaceful, beautiful! The cabin is spotless and the decor is lovely. Although I didn't cook while I was there, the kitchen was outfitted with everything needed to make a meal. There's a grill on the patio and lots of outside seating so that you can enjoy eating outside. I loved sitting outside in the morning with my coffee watching all of the birds. I was in town for a concert at Gruene Hall which was just down the road. You can be at restaurants or shopping in minutes, but then retreat back to the quiet whenever you're ready. The pool area is gorgeous. It wasn't quite warm enough for a dip, but I hope to get back in the summer when I can soak up some sun in such a lovely spot. There are two other cabins nearby, but you still have lots of privacy. I highly recommend a get-away to The Redbird!

5-Star for this South Texas retreat. Third time we have stayed for a 10-night retreat while visiting family in the area during the day. Perfect for a couple: full kitchen, coffee bar with teas and coffee, good bed and shower. Clean; well kept and nice attention to detail. Friendly host & quick to reply to any questions or needs.
