Great in the trees home. It was a great last minute find that made our mountain trip lovely. Very good location for hiking and boating along Lake Glenville.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! We loved it so much, this was our 2nd stay. Group of 13 friends just hanging out for the weekend. Things that stand out include the absolutely pristine bathrooms and the fully stocked kitchen. All the pans, utensils, cutting boards, baking pans, etc. you need. Lots of places I've been to don't have things like measuring cups but they have everything. When we had questions, response was fast. Nice common area for everyone to hang out in. Just a great place.

We had a great stay and loved the privacy of the house. I thought it was so nice to get a message warning us of a storm and letting me know where to find the first aid kit and candles in case of a power outage. There were also a few boxes of water too. It’s very close to Helen which is one of my special places to visit. We were there for a WGI competition so I couldn’t spend as much time exploring as I would have liked. Debra is very quick to respond if you have any questions or need anything. The house was well stocked with towels, and kitchen was well stocked with essential items. The only thing I missed was a tv in the bedroom and a ceiling fan, but that’s just my thing to help me sleep 😊 We really enjoyed our stay.

I have stayed at many AirBnBs, and Joan’s was by far the VERY BEST ONE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! There should be awards for this home. I can’t rave enough about it. Accommodating is the number one adjective I believe describes her cottage because there is not a single thing we needed- Joan has thought about it ALL; she has to be the most thoughtful host ever. Personable and cozy are some other ways to describe this home- we didn’t want to leave! The bird watching and porch is so very inviting and peaceful. The bath is gorgeous and has everything you need for it. The towels were heated, there were robes, clean linens… games, every cooking item you can think of, coffee, precious and thoughtful things left out special here and there just for us- I mean, you think it…. She DID IT. Absolutely AMAZING. 10/10. The price shocked me for how much of a TREAT it is to stay here… must mean Joan is a humble person, which is VERY rare these days. Can’t wait to come back! 😊

I definitely would stay here again. It was a fun trip with my husband and it’s a nice private spot so reconnecting was easy here. I stayed only one night but wish I had put down for longer so that I could enjoy the little river that is right in front of this cabin.

We had a great time! The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed! About 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge which was nice and convenient. The hosts were extremely quick to respond to our questions and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Would definitely stay here again.

Having stayed in a number of houses on this street before, I knew it was a great location and in walking distance to town. From the start Kirk was very communicative and available to any questions or needs we had. The setup is a little different as there are two separate houses sharing common deck and outdoor space but only one of the houses has a full kitchen setup and you have to walk through one bedroom to get to another in the front house. Considering it was a "girls" trip it wasn't an issue for us but traveling with other couples it could be. Sitting outside on the deck, listening to the creek run is one of the best things about this property!

I had a great stay. The place is very easy to find and in a great location. Was very impressed with how clean and organized everything was. Would highly recommend staying at river romance.

I have stayed in over 100 Air BnBs over the last few years for work, this is hands down the best place I have ever stayed. Beautiful place, breath taking views, and Mr. Don is one of the nicest, most interesting men I've ever had the privilege to meet. 11/10 recommend

Mike and Karen were wonderful hosts! They greeted us upon arrival! Made us feel right at home. Even though they live above the apartment they were never intrusive and gave us our space and our privacy. They even gave us fresh eggs as we were leaving. Love the frog garden!

Great stay! Our kids loved the cabin and the hot tub. it was very cozy and comfortable. would definitely recommend!!!

We had a wonderful stay up on the mountain. The apartment was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view. This place is great for people with allergies, as there are no pets or smoking allowed. Plus the linens and towels were fragrance free, which people can be sensitive to. Our host did a nice job welcoming us and the unit is well stocked for cooking in.

George and Deborah’s cabin home is the most adorable I have ever seen. It should be front page of a magazine! How wonderful that they choose to share it with others!!!! Highly recommended!! I only wish we could have stayed longer! If you are in the area, don’t hesitate, book this one! You will be glad you did!

I work remote and rented Damien's home for a month to disconnect and get away from big city life for a little, and it was the best decision I've ever made. This airbnb was perfect for me and my pup. It has a creek and hiking trail on the massive property which makes for extremely pleasant dog walks. I never had an issue with the Starlink wifi (and I had a lot of devices connected and take zoom meetings all day) while the home is super private and secluded, the town of Franklin with everything you need is less than 10mins away. No complaints about this house or homeowner, one of my favorite Airbnb stays ever and I will definitely be returning in the future. 10/10 would recommend!

The Castle of Joy was amazing to stay at!!! The welcome book provided was super helpful in determining where to eat, shop for groceries or items, activities, etc. The bottom half of the home was really cool! it felt like the more we explored the castle the more cool things we found. Unfortunately, it rained most of the time we were there so we didnt get a chance to walk too much of the trails (consequence of booking in advance). However, I'm sure if I wanted to cancel or reschedule the booking, it would be easy to do so withing 10 days of the check in date (review cancellation policy). My booking was for just 2 people. However, this gem is definitely meant to be shared with a group booking!

Sheila is a true gem! We evacuated from hurricane Milton and she showed true compassion. She went above and beyond with hospitality and communication. I would highly recommend this Airbnb in big canoe. What a fantastic escape from all the stress at home! We will be back and we will request Shelia’s cabin.

Kimberly was very helpful and responsive. The Villa was perfect and close proximity to downtown Jasper. The community was gorgeous and well maintained. Thank you Kimberly for all of the help before and during our stay!

Such a peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting. Waves of nostalgia in every nook and cranny of this house. Our family thoroughly enjoyed admiring the pictures, decorations, books and furniture! Preparing meals in the kitchen was an absolute treat. We have never stayed in such a well-equipped kitchen. The serving platters, cooking utensils, cookware and glassware were enjoyed by all! The home was clean and so peaceful. The fireplace was just icing on the cake! Everyone enjoyed our family trip and we hope to return!

My family and I had the time of our lives! It was absolutely beautiful and looked exactly like the pictures! Craig was amazing and very fast with his responses! He checked in on us and made sure everything was just as we expected! My mom is disabled and is wheelchair bound and the home even had a ramp to get her into the main floor and that’s hard to find in the mountains! My sister lives in Nantahala and I love visiting up there to see her but we decided to get an Airbnb this time and we will now always stay here! We were blown away! And also the hot tub is massive my whole family basically fit in it! Thanks again Craig!!

Beautiful home on the river that was nicely secluded. The walk down to the river is a bit steep but my 85 year old mom did it just fine. The house was clean, with excellent instructions for check-in and an easy check-out process.
