We had an absolutely amazing stay here! From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless. Getting to the lodge was easy, both during the day and at night, and the check-in process couldn't have been smoother. The place is exactly as described, if not more beautiful in person. The views of the mountains and lake from the lodge are simply breathtaking, and we were lucky enough to catch glimpses of the Northern Lights! The location is also ideal, with many excursions not being too far away. A helpful tip - you’re planning to do the Northern Lights tour, we discovered that the stops to view them were only about a 5-minute drive from the lodge, so you might want to consider just driving around to catch them! Gudrun was fantastic and was always available to answer any questions we had. My family and I loved every moment of stay and We definitely hope to return in the future.

Dom Mattiego to świetna baza wypadowa do zwiedzania Reykjanesu (od geotermalnych okolic Gunnuhver, przez park krajobrazowy z jeziorem Kleifarvatn, Reykjavik, aż po gejzery czy wodospad Gullfoss). Blisko z lotniska (20 minut autem). Sam dom w spokojnej okolicy, bardzo duża przestrzeń, w tym 4 sypialnie, duża kuchnia i łazienka czyniły to, że jako 4-osobowa rodzina czuliśmy się bardzo komfortowo. Łatwy dostęp do kluczy mimo późnego przyjazdu, możliwość zostania nieco dłużej w dniu wyjazdu oraz szybkie odpowiedzi gospodarza - to także czynniki decydujące o naszej bardzo wysokiej ocenie. Jeśli miałbym polecić bazę noclegową w tej części Islandii, to Vogar i dom Mattiego polecam z czystym sumieniem. A przy okazji - powroty o ciemku (zima 2025) do domu Mattiego z naszych codziennych wypraw i zorze polarne widziane nie tylko w ciemnych miejscach w okolicach miasta Vogar, ale także spod domu - niezapomniane chwile dla nas wszystkich!

Sigurdur was an amazing host! He welcomed us and showed us how everything works. His home is more beautiful than the pictures and extremely clean. He made us feel right at home! Got a chance to see the northern lights from the sauna and the hut tub was beyond relaxing! We had a wonderful and memorable stay

Helga Nina's apartment was the perfect spot for us to explore Reykjavik and Iceland! Easily walkable to the city center as well as having parking to enable exploration further afield. The apartment itself was lovely - very clean, great views and all amenities as described. Cheers ☺️

magnea’s place was wonderful! beautiful ocean views, clean space, and lots of amenities! we even saw the northern lights from our bedroom window! magnea was responsive with our concerns. highly recommend the hand knitted accessories that are sold for charity. they kept me warm! overall, we would stay at magnea’s place again. thank you so much!

Casa molto calda,comoda hai supermercati e zona molto tranquilla. La posizione e è ottima per intraprendere viaggi fuori reykjavik. A me è piaciuta molto!

This apartment is sublime - we loved it - so warm and cosy, so beautiful and calm - a wonderful place for a retreat (and I kind of wish I lived there!). Tactile bare wood floors, whitewashed timber walls, and calm warm light. Hafnaforthur itself is truly beautiful (& we recommend Brikk bakery!!!) and a great stepping off point for Reykjavik, the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon. We went in the winter, and were grateful for the strong radiators and the wonderful hot baths. Soley and her family live in the apartment below, and Soley was easy to reach and communicate with as well as sending lots of thoughtful suggestions for both practical things like groceries, and adventures like whale watching. Soley also provides a wonderful range of products from her own skincare range which smell incredible, and made our stay a really sensory experience. We greeted the display of her lotions in duty-free like an old friend, and I would have brought the whole lot home if I could have afforded them!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The accommodation was perfect for our family and we felt right at home. Visiting Reykjavík in the winter, we made sure we brought lots of warm clothes but the heating and hot water were amazing! We like to self cater and the kitchen was perfect for us.

Vi har haft et helt perfekt ophold. Karl Davor fortalte flere gange, at vi bare skulle bruge af hans ting, så vi havde det fint med at bruge af fx krydderier, lidt mel, skraldeposer osv. Vi måtte også bruge hans hot tub uden ekstra betaling, men man skal selvfølgeligt være opmærksom på, at der er en lugt af svovl fra det varme vand, men det har Karl Davor jo ikke indflydelse på. Sengene var meget behagelige og huset moderne og fint indrettet. Vi kunne bruge vaskemaskine, tørretumbler og opvaskemaskine samt Disney+. Vi havde lejet bil, så afstandene til seværdighederne var ikke noget problem. Der er en lille butik sammen med tankstationen, her kan man købe det mest nødvendige. Omgivelserne passede godt til os. Der er masser af grønne områder/park med legeplads. Der er meget kort afstand til stranden, her kan man finde sten og kaste smut. Vi fik ikke prøvet det lokale svømmebassin, men det er også indenfor kort afstand. Vi boede her i 12 dage og nød hver dag udsigten til bjerget Esja.

Great second floor flat, about 30min to downtown. Extremely friendly and helpful host. Easy property to find, great communication from host. Easy check in and out. Lovely clean, comfortable beds. Plenty of room for a family of 4 for a city break. Great, large bathroom with a powerful shower.

Stayed here for 3 weeks to study, so we rented the entire apartment. The location was perfect, lovely parks and an ice rink nearby, and only a short bus ride or 25 minute walk by the sea to downtown reykjavik. Kitchen had everything you would need to cook and clean. Hakon had loads or information left available on tours, bus routes, restaurants etc, that were very helpful. A home away from home.

Helena was warm, friendly and extremely helpful before we arrived and her house was simply wonderful. Clean, tidy, plenty of space and every bit as welcoming as Helena. The house felt really authentic and was a perfect base from which to explore this amazing country. We felt very much at home during our stay and we loved looking after Freyja (the cat). Helena left clear instructions as to how to navigate the house as well as lovely ideas for excursions. She contacted us ahead of our visit to send us information and replied to any of our queries straight away. We loved our time in Iceland and amongst all of our highlights of places we visited, returning home to Helena's house each evening was absolutely one of them. A very beautiful home and we feel lucky to have found such a gorgeous place to stay. Tim and Claire xx
