The perfect relaxing cabin. A short drive from gorgeous wineries and a quick walk to a beautiful hiking trail where we found over 12 mushroom species. Highly recommend this host!

What a beautiful cabin close to the Shawnee National forest and numerous other states parks and wilderness areas. We had everything we needed and more. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with appliances and utensils, and the hot tub clean and spacious and oh so relaxing. The outdoor space is pristine, comfortable, and a great place to gather. We'll worth the trip!

Phillip was a great host, the cabin was perfect for my wife and to really enjoy a peaceful stay. He was very responsive and friendly. Great location! Great Host! Great Cabin. My wife and I will definitely be back to enjoy the beautiful and peaceful location again.

Overall great experience, beautiful well kept cabin, plenty of things to do, hosts were great about being responsive & accommodating, the cabin was stocked with small items we forgot. it was a perfect getaway retreat, peaceful area with amazing views. We will be back!

We enjoyed exploring the many beautiful parks in the region, relaxing on the huge deck, playing pool in the game room, cooking together in the large kitchen, kayaking, frisbee golf practice, and hiking the property. We had a great stay with no issues and made family memories at this beautiful house. Shawnee Forest Cabins were a great place to stay after hiking the area all day. The cabin was cozy, easy to find, and very clean upon our arrival. The hosts were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. If you utilize the hot tub, make sure you look up and appreciate all the stars!!!

This place was perfect for a little weekend getaway with my husband. The back deck makes you feel very secluded, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was very nice and of course the hot tub was a nice touch-the stars were beautiful. Great location to hikes and wine trails.

Stayed to visit our daughter at SIU. It is close to campus, about 10 minutes away. Loved being next to the barn and seeing the animals throughout the day. The house was clean and roomy for the two of us. Loved the screened in porch and deck which was used everyday. Would highly recommend!!

Quaint little cabin in a very quiet area, but close to Carbondale IL. Place was very clean, easy to find and exactly as described. Great place for price! Would definitely stay again.

I have been on Airbnb for over 10 years and as frequent So. IL guests, this is our most favorite house ever. Hannah is kind and caring, and she keeps things simple (which other hosts could learn from). No big book of rules or requirements - this is how it should be on vacation! We immediately felt comfortable, welcome/at home, for our extended travel. This house meets all of our needs and our main priorities: well-equipped throughout, comfortable furniture and beds, clean, private, firepit w/wood, and what really stood out for us was the QUIET! We were so pleased that it's the quietest area we've ever stayed - no sounds of loud people - just beauty, along with a wide variety of songbirds, a pair of owls, an evening-visiting deer, and a small babbling brook. How idyllic and enchanting! The perfect place to come back to, after days exploration, to relax and meditate on life. I prepared all but one meal here, we had a wonderful fire one night and enjoyed rainfall from the covered porch.

The cabin was clean, secluded and very peaceful. We will stay there again when visiting family. Thank you Tom for a nice stay!

Had a nice stay at Nikki's cabin with a family for a spring break. We all enjoyed the peaceful surroundings in the wooded area. So close to many lakes and trails! Nikki's place had everything we needed as well as fully equipped kitchen. A snack bar and a coffee was nice extras! We loved wooded detail and spacious south facing patio/porch. Nikki was a caring host and proactive communicator. Thank you for a great stay.

Great secluded area within 30 minute drive of what must be 25+ hikes. It’s rural, stock up before getting in. Very comfortable home sitting right on a stream that is amazing for reading books at night or drinking coffee in the AM. Serviceable kitchen/bathroom/bedrooms. Pet friendly is a plus. If you’re coming in the next month be prepped for bad roads, seems you have to take the gravel backroad into this place which is a tad rough to say the least, but manageable. Loved being on the farm around the animals and guard dog. Only was able to tackle about 10 hikes so will definitely be back!

This cabin was unbelievable. Everything was fresh and new, beautifully decorated, cosy and thoughtful. The hosts really went out of their way to provide everything needed - Fire and s'more supplies, water filter in fridge, wine and snacks, plentiful toiletries and paper products, condiments and spices, games, books (even children's books and coloring supplies) nice soaps, comfy beds, plentiful and nice towels etc. It became a running joke for us "wow, this cabin really has everything." All of it very thoughtfully curated, it all felt very personal. My daughter freaked out over the loft, it's a kid's dream come true. It is a high loft, so probably most appropriate for an older kid, but she is 6 and followed the rules carefully. It's in a beautiful setting and feels very secluded, we didn't see any other people or dogs while we were there, so we could just exit the cabin and hike or let our dog and daughter play around the premises.

We booked Patty’s cabin for a weekend getaway to metropolis and Paduka and it was a perfect place to stay .. very peaceful and private and way better than staying in a hotel

We had a great time at the house. It was beautiful and clean and had all that we required . Its location is perfect , a walk h distance to the castle park which the younger kids loved and a short drive to giant city park and into town . Thanks for a great stay !

We had a really good time & enjoyed our stay! We tried Driver Down, a local restaurant Brittan recommended and it was so good!! Brittan was very nice & helpful!! We will definitely have to come back this summer, and stay longer!! If you’re thinking about booking, DO IT!!!

Mercedes went above and beyond for us! Our stay was a short last minute trip and her quick response time was impressive! Very friendly and compassionate to help us get settled in quickly, so we could attend to what we came for. The place was very clean and the peaceful surroundings were the perfect atmosphere for us. We enjoyed our stay even though it was quick. Keith was very accommodating to us as we had booked last minute. We felt welcomed and comfortable. If you enjoy unique experiences this is for you! The dogs on site are SO incredibly sweet. My daughter loved being able to see the chickens, goats and horses on the property. In the morning, the horses galloped by the downstairs window and it felt very magical. My family already would love to visit again. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We stay in cabins in southern Illinois a lot . This was by far our best experience. Super clean and awesome location. Ann is the best host we’ve ever had it’s not even close.
