Where to begin? The Log Cabin on the Benbow golf course was nothing short of a dream! From the seamless check-in, to the easy to find location, this home provided me, my pups (kids) & best friend of 36 years the perfect cottage core experience. The kitchen appliances are stunning and you will find all the basic staples you might need, excellent heating for the all-wood log cabin. Wonderfully spacious, the cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, plus a great washer and dryer. Soft beds and lots of freshly washed towels and blankets made for an extra comforting stay. I escape to the Redwoods often, generally staying deeper north but was so happy to find this precious abode just south of the Avenue of Giants and in perfect distance for some excellent day-tripping, with ease of return being so close off the highway. Jacque was so kind and responsive, and made me feel so cared for. I really hope I get the chance to return to this magical cabin, it is truly one of a kind.

If cozy were a place, it’d be this spot in Garberville. Safe, peaceful, and super inviting. The outdoor space is a whole vibe—multiple seating areas, a hot tub and sauna that made chilly nights feel dreamy, and even a juicer in the fully stocked kitchen (because why not make fresh juice in the forest?). Despite being dog and 420 friendly, it was spotless—way cleaner than many “no pets” stays. We loved the extra blankets and towels, especially for foggy mornings and hot tub dips. The house heats up fast, and the grocery store is just minutes away. Our pup loved the yard, but be warned: furry friends will get moist from that classic Humboldt dew. Also, major bonus points for the thoughtfulness that went into every detail—from cozy lighting to clear instructions. We felt right at home and can’t wait to return. Whether you’re soaking, sipping, cooking, or just stargazing, this place has it all. 10/10. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Delightful off-grid studio with mountain views

We loved the quiet serenity of Sara's place. The acorn woodpeckers were out in the trees to greet us in the morning and the views from the deck were of misty mountains and ancient trees. The space was beautifully appointed and comfortable, with all the utensils and cooking needs we could require. Sara greeted us in person to show us around and ensure that we had a good stay. I would definitely come back to this haven.

Shelter Cove is a hidden gem in California & this house is the BEST way to enjoy it. The house is directly on the ocean! The views from the living room, kitchen & my bed room were absolutely spectacular. The house was so clean. The sofas were super comfortable. The downstairs bathroom has a huge tub & the water gets really hot. Multiple beaches within walking distance & lots of sea lions near the lighthouse! Mario's bar & restaurant is also walkable and we met so many kind locals there who told us a lot about Shelter Cove. We saw deer grazing the grass all over town everyday. There's even a shower in the garage you can use after going to the ocean before entering the house. The host's were so kind to leave us a complimentary bottle of local wine & a nice note for us upon entering the house. We had such a great stay here and will definitely be coming back in the future. We were so lucky to find this place. Thanks Todd for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

This is a fantastic place to stay to visit Avenue of the Giants and Humboldt Redwoods State Park! The place looks exactly as pictured. It was clean and they had some supplies stocked - coffee was great! The location is perfect - the Miranda Market is very nearby and has the basics. The Avenue Cafe had great food for when you don’t want to cook. Staying on the Avenue feels like a priceless experience - much better than staying elsewhere and driving in each day. The shower was wonderful after coming home from hiking. I would definitely stay at this exact place again. Very comfortable stay.

My experience definitely exceeded expectations! Excellent kitchen with all of the cooking amenities I needed (including an outdoor propane grill)! Marcedes was very responsive to all of my questions before and after check-in, she was very friendly and set up the grill for us before we arrived. The home itself is beautiful and cozy (there were even some toys and books for my toddler!). My only flag is that there is no wifi. This was fine for us because the cell service is good in the area, but may be a challenge for those planning to use wifi. I would definitely stay here again!

If you are looking for an escape, this is the perfect spot! Dena & Craig are great hosts with the perfect cabin to enjoy the quite beauty of the Lost Coast. The unobstructive view took our breath away and was exactly what we needed. Their cabin was perfect for the two of us, they kitchen was well appointed, and we cooked almost every day of our 5-day trip. We were able to enjoy dinner on the patio with stunning ocean view and sounds. We brought in most of our food for the week, but the general store had a great verity and had reasonable prices. We went to Gyppo Ale Mill twice and had an awesome meal and service. We also tried the cheeseburger pizza from Delgada and it was delicious! We enjoyed morning walks on near by Black Sand Beach and watching the seals and sea lions at the various lookout points around town. The beds had very comfortable mattress and pillows, we could enjoy the smoothing sound of the ocean waves from the front bedroom. I could go on, but out of space! Stay Here!

We had a fantastic time during our stay. My best friend was getting married and Heather was extremely helpful/gave wonderful recommendations for local spots to check out. The pool was a little bit cold but nothing we didn’t expect for this time of year. 🥶still made for a wonderful sobering experience lol 😂 The hot tub is amazing! If you were lucky enough to book this place, I would highly, highly recommend it! Everything is neat and labeled and the washing machine made it wonderful to be able to leave with clean clothes from vacation! 10/10

The Amazing Blue Water Ocean House

Best Vacation rental we have ever stayed in. We were a little concerned at first as it looked like it was going to rain for much of our trip, but the house is really set up. First off watching the giant breaking waves was like standing on the bow of a ship, amazing, mesmerizing. What a view! The fireplace was nice and cozy, the kitchen totally stocked, even had Henckels cutlery. The kids loved the super high-speed internet and Play Station 5 on the giant Sony TV. Ping pong madness, a 20’ shuffleboard table like in a bar, board games, puzzles. Lots of room, inside and out. Hot-tubbing in the rain while watching the waves was awesome. Then the sun came out. Riding bikes along the airstrip to Gyppos. Went golfing, on a course where you can see how it looks like when the gofers have won the battle. Strolling giant Black Sand Beach. Our host Angie was super nice and genuinely friendly, and the place very clean. All that to say...We are coming back for sure.

Blissful sunsets and wild nature in the Redwoods

Beautiful, serene location to relax and close to The Avenue of the Giants for hiking and only an hour from shelter cove to see seals. Food shopping not too far away so we enjoyed bbqs and dinner at home and loved the fire pit at night. Comfortable accommodations and loved the tub for soaks. Avenue Cafe in Miranda had great jalepino burgers. A wonderful park ranger with a cute chihuahua named poco told us abot Rockefeller forest which is an amazing hike. Rose at the lighthouse in shelter cove was very helpful and informative.

The house was beautiful, a home away from home the host was very friendly and responsive to any questions we had even gave us some recommendations on where we can take the kids for some fun but they enjoyed playing in the yard and the bonfire we would definitely be back and recommend this home .

absolutely amazing place to stay. I have so much to say. the decor is cozy and welcoming. they put so much thought into all the details. the whole place smelled and felt like a spa while I was there! Laura is just one of those people that is meant to host. she is so friendly, so responsive and her food is good too! the whole place is beautiful inside and out. I had a great trip and would love to come back in the future. I have already shared the place to a few of my friends and clients and they look forward to booking.

This was an amazing find! The place was beautiful, clean, and exactly what we were looking for to have a quiet Thanksgiving - we made our whole Thanksgiving meal here! The views were incredible and the unit was set up to make the most of them. Simy, the host, was so responsive and friendly. We’d love to go back!

This was our second stay at Delmar's home and we plan to stay again next year. That should sum up our satisfaction with our experience. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the private planes taking off and landing. It's an easy walk to the Gyppo Ale Mill, the light house and the extensive tide pools below. The home is well appointed, comfortable and sparkling clean.

This location on Sea View Road in Shelter Cove overlooks the ocean. The windows throughout the house give you ocean views everywhere and the feeling of a wide 180 degree view of the ocean in the living room area. The place is perfectly equipped with kitchen, bathroom, bedding and laundry. It's so relaxing, it really transformed my mood. I also enjoyed the local restaurants, it's overall a very friendly, peaceful place.

just a perfect place in nature. a little more than a half hour to the avenue of the Giants one way and a little more than a half hour to the beach the other way. overall it was a fantastic experience and I wish I onwed something like this. one day I will likely trade in the city life for this type of living. it is always a struggle between the two. this home is perfect, literally perfect and I hope to come back soon.

Quiet and peacefu getaway. My daughter and I enjoyed the ocean air and breeze. A great place if you want to get away and enjoy an infinite view of blue ocean. I would stay again and wouldn't change a thing.

This home was perfect for a peaceful, secluded getaway. The views were absolutely amazing and the small town was so cute. Jared’s home was clean, well-stocked and had plenty of towels and blankets. It was an amazing spot for our girls trip and we would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved Pearls place! The location for touring the Redwoods was perfect. The kitchen is spacious & well stocked which was ideal, as we cooked all our meals there. The beds are super comfy & I especially appreciated the 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, very soft & cozy! Pearl was a very present and responsive host with a positive high vibe, we will come back for sure. Highly recommend this spot.

Loved our stay at Shelter Cove, the views were unbeatable and it was also a great night for stargazing. We enjoyed the balcony and the jacuzzi in the living room that looked out into the ocean. Everything was incredible comfortable, we would definitely stay here again.
