The host sent us very detailed instructions on how to find the accommodation and there were no problems with that. Everything is exactly as shown in the pictures, we even got a surprise (instructions and origami paper). Very comfortable accommodation and friendly host. The only slight problem was that the bathroom was a bit harder to heat at this time of year because the heating is by air conditioning and a small heater. The accommodation is quite far from the nearest JR station (for those planning to travel exclusively via JR pass), but a few minutes from the bus stop. Definitely a positive experience.

This place is good for those who wish to have nature and quietness. Bamboo forest is behind and a short walk to Fushimi inari via it. It is a cozy, clean and good sized place. Naoko and her husband were very kind, they offered to bring us around as her husband happened to be free. She even ore-recorded a tape in English to explain our itinerary. This more than made up the not-so-central location. around yen1300 by uber from station to her house if you do not wish to walk. On the whole, we felt very blessed to have stayed at this place. Hope to be back one day.

Very friendly and helpful host. The accomodation was exactly as advertised and was a great location to relax and experience traditional Japanese ryokan. Our host kindly provided daily breakfasts as well as transport to the nearest train stations. Highly recommend for future guests.

Staying at Chikashi’s Airbnb was great. The house is very comfy and it is located in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Besides, you have the train station very close. Chikashi is very kind and helpful. Thank you sou much!

The host is very responsive, supporting us to early check in and late check out. We travel with group of 3 families, 11 people. The young people enjoy their commun room and parents have their private room. It was fantastic. Very close to the Gion old quarter and the Kiyomizu temple. All room are equiped air conditioner, well heated for all night.

Thank you so much Sao for a wonderful stay! The house was absolutely perfect and we felt right at home! The house was well equipped and had everything we needed for cooking, laundry etc… we absolutely loved this house and look forward to coming back!! We loved the area, great restos and shops, but most of all, the locals in Yamashina are so nice!!! This is our new go to place when we come back to Japan.

Ken was awesome. Amazing communication and awesome location within 5 minutes from major train lines and 10-15 minutes walk from a bulk of the touristy things and restaurants you'll have on your list. The shower was different but functional. No complaints. We really only used the apartment to sleep - didn't spend much time there. It was too cold to use the patio but it was a decent size and had a nice view of the river. Ken gave some great suggestions and was extremely responsive.

A beautiful, cozy apartment in the heart of Gion district Kyoto. Location is excellent. We enjoyed seeing geishas and meikos regularly on evening walks just outside the apartment. It was close to hiking trails, many sightseeing destinations, trains, restaurants, etc. In the heart of everything. And yet super quiet, being on 4th floor with no neighbors (above or on sides) in an alley. Only downside is that the kitchen is very efficient, single burner, no counter space, etc. But you should be mostly eating out anyway. Also there is a red light at night in the main room from the fire alarm—we had to cover it with a jacket to sleep. Not sure what other reviewers thought was deceptive—it was as I expected, and honestly the view is phenomenal. Yes there is a parking lot but you can hardly see it and beyond that are the beautiful Kyoto hills and tops of temples peaking out. Tatami room was wonderfully cozy. Furniture and linens were quality. Stayed super warm inside. We miss it already!!

This is a great place to stay when you are visiting Kyoto! It is right in the center of Gion and in a perfect location to be able to walk around at night and get to experience the city. The area felt very safe to walk around at night. The room was very spacious and comfortable, exactly as advertised. The beds were really nice and as an added bonus, there were plenty of outlets for everyone to be able to charge their phones! We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back!!

Ken’s Airbnb is perfect for those who want to explore Kyoto. The location is great with walkable access to the market, shrines, and more restaurants and bars than you can count. Ken is a wonderful host who made great effort to make sure we were enjoying our trip.

Depending on your style of travel, Kyoto can be an overwhelming place. Seibido Inn felt like a safe house away from the touristy madness, yet still close enough to access the major destinations easily. Some of my favorite parts of my stay were the quiet walks home.

We had the best stay Kyoto. It was the perfect location - walkable to train stations and popular attractions. The home was a beautiful mix of modern and traditional with more than enough space for our group. Hosts were very kind, helpful, and responsive. We would definitely stay again.

这次和好友一起去关西玩，在小黛家住了三个晚上，真的很棒，典雅的日式榻榻米别墅，内部装饰的也很漂亮，住在里面非常有代入感，别墅位处京都富人区，环境非常好，虽然不在市中心但配套设施很好，地铁和便利店都是极短的步行范围内。然后，小黛姐人真的超级好！很热心，入住之前不厌其烦的在微信上回答我各种问题，到京都当天更是开车来山科站接我们，然后给我们详细的介绍京都应该怎么玩，怎么坐车，还让我们碰到问题随时微信上联系她，最后一晚还拿出珍藏的红酒招待我们，给我的感觉不是房东，而是多年的好朋友在日本招待我。

It was a nice, almost four storey apartment. The place is 20 mins away from the station. But it was a nice walk from the station if the weather is good. The view from the place is great. You can see the lake and the mountain. We love the nature the most.
