Such a fabulous cabin in a stunning location. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hot tub was a bonus. We used it several times during our four nights stay. The cabin was spotlessly clean had every amenity to make us more than comfortable throughout our stay, the hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. Such a wonderful place, we really didn’t want to leave. Make sure you stock up on groceries when you pass a supermarket (as the nearest one open during our stay was a 25 minute drive) and you won’t want for a thing. We forgot to purchase some sugar for our hot drinks, so Matthias, one of the hosts, called round within a couple of hours with a bag of sugar cubes for us. Amazing service! The horses in the adjoining field were a delight to watch and kept my daughter entertained for hours. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

What a beautiful little place! We absolutely loved it here. A very very peaceful location with a wonderful view. The accommodation itself was so cosy and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed (apart from a kettle that we couldn’t seem to find). The hot tub was super special and would have been PERFECT for aurora viewing had the cloud coverage not been 100%! Regardless we loved relaxing in it, a very special place. The only negative was the bedsheet was old and bobbly and for the price paid I would have expected a new, un-bobbly sheet! Apart from that, absolutely fantastic!

I would 100% stay here again. The unit is fully stocked with everything you would need. Including salt, pepper, oil, tin foil. We stopped for groceries on the way from the airport. So glad we did! I recommend bringing coffee beans for the fancy machine. The fridge is large. The tv has Netflix and Disney. The hot tub stays the same temp as it just keeps refreshing itself. Iceland is magical. And this find was perfection for a party of 3 adults. Also the beds were incredibly comfortable. I slept like a dream. The home is plenty warm as well. The host is extremely responsive although we had zero issues as the instructions are clear before you arrive. We communicated to say thank you for a lovely stay. Would stay here again.

This was our family's 4th trip to Iceland and this is by far our favorite place we've stayed at. Words cannot describe how beautiful the setting is. The views of the lake & mountains are absolutely amazing! The cabin is charming and has two large bay windows which provide spectacular views. We felt right at home here. When I had a question, Gudrun was quick to respond. We loved the location. It's private & tucked away in a beautiful area but only 25 minute drive from my friend's house in Mosfellbaer, a lovely town of approximately 15,000 people and has a grocery store and restaurants. The cabin is only a 45 minute drive from Reykjavik. The icing on the cake is that we got to see the northern lights from the cabin! I definitely plan on staying here again in the future.

Ik raad deze plek iedereen aan! Erg leuke camping sfeer en het hutje was zeer sfeervol. Als ik toch kritisch mag zijn vond ik het extra bedje/bankje smal. Ook waren de handdoeken versleten en was er geen plek bij het hutje om je natte handdoek op te hangen. Verder geen minpunten, zeker boeken!

We visited at the end of March with our two toddlers, which I was quite nervous about. However, our host gave us so much information before we arrived it really helped put my mind at ease. This is honestly one of my top stays using Airbnb and I have travelled a lot. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, the place was extremely well equipped, clean and modern, it’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to drive to everything. We were extremely lucky and saw the Northern Lights on our first night from the garden. Although we didn’t meet the hosts, they were very welcoming and happy to provide information and answer questions. Iceland is a beautiful country and I would love to go back and I would stay again here! Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.

This place is a gem. Secluded and extremely private, the nearest homes are way up a dirt road more than a mile away. You could stay here and not even see a single other soul if you didn't want to. Stunning scenery, AMAZING hot tub, and the recent redecoration is very stylish. I was there in the winter, but I am absolutely coming back in a summer month to experience this amazing space. 110% great value and great experience.

A bit remote, but very peaceful place. Make sure you have supplies or be prepared to drive 20+ for the most simple sandwich. It was pretty chilly when first entering, but the place heats up pretty quickly. Soaking in the hot tub and looking up to see all the stars and aurora activity was pretty special. Tumi upgraded me to the main house which was great, as he needed to do some work on the cabin. On your trip to Thingvellir National Park you'll pass the Þórufoss falls. Use the google link to get directions to the place!

Very attractive and comfortable cabin in a beautiful area which feels entirely private despite being only an hour from Reykjavik. Great base for hiking or sightseeing. We had five days here and felt we only scratched the surface of what the area has to offer. Cabin is very well and thoughtfully equipped. Matthias was a great host and offered fantastic recommendations of things to do and see. No hesitation at all in recommending.

Wir hatten eine so schöne Zeit in Haukurs Unterkunft. Die Hütte ist mit allem ausgestattet was man so braucht, sehr gemütlich und traumhaft ruhig gelegen mitten in der Natur. Der Blick auf den See, der Kamin und der Hot Tub waren unser Highlight. Perfekt um so richtig zu entspannen. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

We had a great time at the cabin! Actually, one of the highlights was our host Ylfa, who was always very helpful, provided a lot of very detailed information up front and reacted very quickly to all remaining questions we had - the communication was really a pleasure to us and on a level I have not experienced on Airbnb before. About the cabin: Our kids (3 and 6 years old) very much liked what they referred to as "the play cave", which is the upstairs sleeping loft. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary things needed, far exceeding what would be minimal kitchen setup. Another highlight to us was the hot tub, which we used almost every day (despite wind and a bit of rain outside). The open view towards the west is very suitable to search for Northern Lights in the dark or just watch the stars. We mainly used the cabin as our homebase to different day tours around in western Iceland. In total, we really had a great time!

We had such an amazing time during our stay and Zoei was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. This was one of the nicest Airbnbs I've ever been lucky enough to stay in. It looked beautiful in the pictures and was even more beautiful in person. The thermal pool was so relaxing and Godo was such a highlight. We hope to come back!

I booked this place for a true Icelandic experience, and it truly delivered! From the natural hot tub to the sheep right outside the bathroom window, this place was a unique gem! My tweens loved it! While a bit off the beaten path, Zoei's place was worth the drive. It had great views and the drive is beautiful. One of our favorite waterfalls of our whole trip, Þórufoss, was just a 12 minute drive down the road. Don't miss it! The parking lot was empty and we had the whole place to ourselves. Incredible! Find the walking trail from the south side of the parking lot down to the riverbed and right up to the falls. It's the best! There was plenty of space for all of us in this spacious yet cozy and comfortable home. Zoei was a very responsive and helpful host. Her pre-check in information is very helpful. Follow her advise on how to operate (pre-heat) the hot tub and about keeping the key in the lock-box so you don't accidentally lock yourself out when the self-locking door closes.

L’alloggio è veramente stupendo. Accogliente, ben arredato e completo di tutto. Ci è piaciuto così tanto che siamo rimasti più in casa di quello che avevamo programmato. Excellent séjour ! On a eu un peu de difficulté à trouver dans la nuit le chalet mais on a réussi. Excellent emplacement pour les aurores boréales ! Et un plaisir de voir des chevaux au petit matin juste à côté.

The Mirror House is easily the most unique Air BnB we have stayed in and we absolutely loved it. Yes, it’s expensive, but for us it was so worth it. The scenery is beautiful - we were blessed with sunshine, snow and the Northern Lights whilst we were there. The cooking facilities meant we could make the most of our time there, not needing to leave for dinner or breakfast, and the hot tub was a brilliant addition. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

This place was absolutely perfect in every way and far exceeded our expectations. We arrived on a perfectly clear afternoon to see the most incredible sunset, the hot tub already warm and ready for us. We got to see the most spectacular showing of the northern lights. the chair looking out over the lake was my favorite spot and the beds were so cozy and comfortable. Would 100% recommend.

This cabin was an absolute dream for our honeymoon. It felt super remote and secluded, with incredible vistas of the snowy mountains and valley below. We felt lucky to be the highest cabin on the hill side, it felt really private and we enjoyed the long track up to the location. We had everything we needed, efficient heating, great kitchen and the hot tub was absolutely perfect (though please note that sulfurous water will reversably tarnish silver jewellery!) No complaints, thanks for making our trip so damn special xx

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful and we enjoyed it very much. The cabin is so charming and at a calm location surrounded by nature. It is equipped with everything you need and little details like the fireplace make you feel like home. Thor and Ryan were great hosts, always responsive and sharing helpful information proactively.
