The house is better in person, it’s cozy, clean, and in a beautiful place. The instructions were very clear, detailed, & useful prior to arrival so we were well prepared with firewood & other supplies. Everything was easy to use (heating, hot tub, fireplace etc) and we felt at home for a few days. The house is in a small area with mostly holiday homes & a couple restaurants with a small hotel so important to bring groceries and all supplies needed as the closest store is a bit of a drive. It’s peaceful, and lovely to walk to the harbor & cliff views. I definitely want to come back and stay again. Can’t say enough about how lovely it was, thank you Margret & family!

Extremely well stocked with supplies and all sorts of gadgets and home comforts. Christmas decorations and a small gift for each of the children along with a bottle and chocolates were such a thoughtful and nice touch as we were staying over Christmas Day. Just bear in mind it’s a tourist attraction so if you don’t lock the door you may get an unexpected visitor. We really enjoyed our stay. Lots of character and very homely.

This is an amazing property ! Be prepared if you want to capture northern lights, because Reikiavik area gets cloudy most of the time and other areas do not as there is more wind. As for the cabin everything worked as published even the jacuzzi. The cabin was warm and welcoming. There were even two espresso capsules that even the nicest resorts forget to put them on. If you want to have relaxing nights in the suburbs consider this place for sure

Set outside the township, this tranquil sryting is perfect for some R&R. Seclusion and privacy are in big supply. The home is just as the photos show. All the amenities you need for your stay. It's easy to just unwind and forget all the stress in your life here. This is ideal for low key actions, but still close enough to big adventure and local shopping.

Alfa and Finnur were very friendly and helpful, the best hosts!!! The house is lovely and cozy. Perfect for our family! The hot tub was the perfect temperature and so relaxing. I sincerely hope this place is available for our next visit!!!

Das Häuschen war super. Es ist super ruhig gelegen, man fühlt sich sehr abgelegen, obwohl ein paar Häuser drumherum sind und man in paar Fabriken drumherum hat (man sieht nur die Lichter, es ist nichts zu hören oder zu riechen). Wir konnten sogar in zwei Nächten Polarlichter sehen, das war unser absolutes Highlight. Der Ausblick auf den Fjord war auch jeden Tag wieder atemberaubend. Die Ausstattung war perfekt, es fehlte an nichts. Wir konnten sogar den Whirlpool benutzen. Wenn man sehr empfindlich bei Geräuschen ist, sollte man ggf. Oropax mitnehmen (der Wind kann sehr laut werden). Das Häuschen war der perfekte Ausgangspunkt für Roadtrips in den Süden, nach Reykjavik und in den Westen. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Karl’s house was lovely! It was secluded from main areas and we got beautiful pictures of the Northern Lights. We stayed for 10 days and Karl was very responsive to any questions, and was easy to contact. We had a lovely stay and hope to come back with our kids in a few years!

Unser Aufenthalt in der kleinen Wohnung in Reykjavik war sehr schön. Die Lage ist super und total zentral. Die Wohnung hat alles was man für ein paar Tage in der Hauptstadt benötigt und wir fühlten uns direkt wie zu Hause.

Johanna & her sisters were great hosts & the log cabin is really amazing! We received very detailed information how to find & check-in & also some helpful information regarding the area (supermarkets, rental cars etc.). So, we felt like home just when we arrived. The cabin is equipped with really everything you need, e.g. the fireplace & the clothes horse were very helpul when coming back from hiking on a stormy & rainy day. Worth mentioning is also the hot tub from which you can look towards the river. Overall, we can absolutely recommend the log cabin & we will definitely come back. Selfoss (grocery), the Golden Circle, Thingvellir & Reykjavik are within a max. 1.5 hour drive.
