Wonderful stay in Bergen. Rose was an amazing communicator. She thought of every little detail and told us ahead of our arrival. Rose went to great lengths to arrange a key pick up convenient to us when our train arrived really late. She gave us a heads up about maintenance on the building and great detail in directions to her place. This is Rose’s home and it’s such a pleasure when someone opens up their actual home to you and invites you to help yourself to what is there. Like the old days on Airbnb. The kitchen was fully stocked and we enjoyed coffee each morning. The apartment is a 20 minute walk to town but the price of the accommodation made it worth it. The flat is in a modern area close to the waterfront. The grocery store is down the steps literally a minute away. We loved the 2 full bathrooms each with a shower. The beds were super comfy. Would highly recommend Rose’s flat for families, couples or anyone looking for a very nice and comfortable stay very reasonably priced.

Staying in the small cabin is an adventure by itself. The surrounding forest and lake are beautiful. The cabin is clean and you find everything you need (outside toilet, no electricity and the beds are a bit hard). The cabin is not so big, so if the weather permits you should be outside (we had a fire, …) which is great. Bring mosquito repellent. We had one really rainy day and therefore a very cosy time with four people in the cabin. We would highly recommend using the sauna (for a fee) and jumping in the really cold and clear lake. The city of Beitostølen is just a few minutes by car and there a some restaurants and super market. The best part is the connection to Beito Husky farm (next to the wood) which we - and especially our kids - really loved. We spend a day with the dogs and had a serene canoe tour. It was a great stay and our kids where really sad leaving the dogs behind.

We had a great stay. Lovely apartment, easy to walk into the centre yet sat within a cute Neighbourhood with the quintessential colorful homes of Bergen. Full and expansive kitchen

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Merete sehr genossen! Wir haben mit unseren 8 Monate altem Baby eine Nacht im Zelt und dann eine Nacht im Badehaus verbracht. Merete war sehr hilfsbereit und hatte proaktiv vorgeschlagen die Nacht im Zelt vorzuziehen, da es die zweite Nacht deutlich kälter werden sollte. Das war eine super Erfahrung, auch - und vor allem - mit Baby. Meretes Unterkunft ist atemberaubend schön und sehr entspannend. Wir haben den japanischen Garten, den Blick auf die Berge und die Sauna sehr genossen. Vor allem das leckere Frühstück und Meretes herzliche, zuvorkommende aber auch rücksichtsvolle Art hat uns sehr gefallen. Wer eine Oase der Ruhe in der Nähe einiger Sightseeingspots sucht, ist hier genau richtig! Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

What a wonderful home away from home for a long weekend! The house is part of two different worlds - one the rural Norway of the past and the other very much the present. Being on a working dairy farm also made us reflect on the sources of our food and how much we take for granted day-to-day. We enjoyed convenient access to kayaking, hiking, cruising the fjord by ferry to Geiranger, and cooking local foods in the well-appointed kitchen. Special thanks to Synnove for fresh home-baked bread and sending on our way with slices of cake for the journey.

Så fort vi hadde parkert og gikk ut av bilen, fikk vi sommerfugler i magen bare av å se Skifterud gård. Paret på gården sammen med en dyktig praktikant tok oss varmt i mot, skuldrene senket seg, tempoet gikk ned og hvilepulsen kom. En helt magisk atmosfære har de fått til. Du hører fossen i bakgrunnen, et lite geitekor og lykkelige høner som tripper rundt. Det er dyreliv, insektsliv, planteliv. Du våkner uthvilt og ser rett på den frodige dalen og trærne som vaier i vinden. Vi hilste på de geitene og gikk tur til fossen som er like ved gården. Vi fikk også servert økologisk, selvdyrket, deilig mat, samt en uforglemmelig intimkonsert med Rupert. Gaby er dyktig i faget, og vi lærte mye på kursene hennes som vi skal ta med oss videre i vår hverdag. Gården er en sjelden juvel som alle vil få en unik opplevelse på, om det er for å få kunnskap, bli inspirert, eller bare få en pause i fra en travel hverdag. Vi er virkelig takknemlige for oppholdet og ser frem til å komme tilbake.

Great location for skiing. Walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, and shops. Very peaceful. I will add to make sure you read the description as I missed having to arrange for sheets. Thankfully the host was proactive and got everything taken care of prior to arrival. We enjoyed returning from skiing to have a glass of wine and watch movies with the kids. The beds were comfortable.
