They say that this 1820's house can be noisy, especially in the summer, but in the winter it was great. On my three-day weekend in early December, I believe there were two of us staying there (it has 5 rooms), so noise from guests was minimal, and my bedroom was on the back side, so I didn't hear the street noise. The hot tub was great, and I lit a fire in the outdoor fire pit on the first evening, which also was nice. Access to a full kitchen made it possible to cook and eat, and someone made choc chip muffins for us on Monday morning, which was a friendly touch.

This was my first time staying in a bed-and-breakfast, and it now has me convinced that I will stay at a bed-and-breakfast again. Our room was very cozy, and we love antiques, and our room was also filled with nice antiques, as well as the entryway upon walking into the bed-and-breakfast. we had to check in early due to a wedding and was flexible with letting us come early so that we could get ready for the wedding.

I saw an article posted that said coming here was like going to stay at Grandma’s house, and I couldn’t agree more! Christine was very friendly and had goodies baking when we came in. They were very nice; we had an issue and they were very understanding and kind about it. We would definitely stay here again. It was very close to Camden State Park and the view from Mount Barrie was beautiful!

We loved our stay at The Moorings! It had a fantastic view of the bay and the newly updated kitchenette was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. We had a fire at night down by the water and truly enjoyed our stay, only wish we would've stayed longer!

The Heritage - Inn on the Harbor

We stayed in The Heritage room and enjoyed an incredible view of the Stonington Fishing Pier and the harbor. We were able to unplug, slow down, and completely relax. The room itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable and we were thankful that we were able to bring along our dog. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Double Room at Otter Creek Inn

Fantastic place to stay (andvery close to Cadillac mountain)! They have a fantastic Continental breakfast, and you can visit with one another as you drink coffee and eat their homemade muffins! This is the second time I have stayed here. I would highly recommend this location!

This listing was a peaceful place for me and my bestie to work remotely. Great WiFi and even better views. The food and drinks were AMAZING. Alex introduced herself to me while I was grabbing a beer and gave us recommendations for hikes and restaurants. We will be visiting again. Can’t recommend this place enough.

This charming little Inn was perfectly picturesque and so warm and welcoming. Nancy and the rest of the staff were the sweetest and really take care of the place and its visitors as their own. We were able to check in late with our room and key awaiting us and clear instructions for us to settle in after a long drive. They provided coffee in the morning as well as a little communal kitchen with amenities. We felt both safe and surrounded by other kind travelers while having privacy and security as well. Overall hope we have a reason to return again in the future and couldn’t recommend this place more for a cozy quiet retreat with a gorgeous view.

Lookout Portside Cottage

What an amazing location, facing the water, with islands and ocean all around and beautiful beach with adirondack chairs to contemplate the beauty of the landscape. The main house is very quaint and cozy. We also had an upgrade, allowing us to stay in a room with beautiful direct ocean view. The hotel attendant was super responsive and kind, and made us feel very welcome. The site is really unbeatable. The location on the quiet side also allows to avoid the crowds from Bar Harbor. We will definitely go back to the Moorings on future trips to Mount Desert Island!

This place is right on the water in the adorable village of Stonington. It was super affordable this time of year and perfect for a quick getaway. They have amazing amenities like the deck and chairs but also all the essentials in the common area! Definitely will be back.

Wonderful stay, Our room overlooked the water with a beautiful view. Very easy instructions. Bed was super comfortable with nice club chairs. The community room had games, snacks, coffee, maps and we could access it whenever we wanted. Krista, the manager was very kind and helpful. We had dinner both nights next door at 27 Fathoms, which was excellent. Very peaceful, especially during the off season. Driving and/or walking around the area is spectacular. Highly recommend. Will definately be back.

The Mooring’s is a beautiful place to stay!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. The host’s were so kind and even upgraded our room free of charge! The views from the room are breathtakingly stunning!!! It’s right on the water and so peaceful. I HIGHLY recommend!

This place was truly a home away from home. Felt like being in my grandmas house all over again. The office and common room were BEAUTIFUL. So homey. The room itself…. I don’t have words. It was gorgeous. It was clean. It had an AMAZING view. And a balcony? It couldn’t have gotten better. The bed was honestly the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept in. Outside, has a little sitting area with a fire pit, a little swing right by the water- and I mean right by it! Honestly if I could give this place a million stars, I would. And it would be worth every single one of them. I can’t wait to come back Thank you for making our stay in Maine extra special

We have stayed in this exact room in the past. Such an amazing view of the harbor and it is a quiet and peaceful location. Our host was great...very proactive and we highly recommend this place. Google Maps does list the Inn on the Harbour as permanently closed, but it is not.

The stay here was beautiful! We only stayed one night but definitely would’ve loved to stay longer. It was such a peaceful, clean, and charming experience!

Third floor hideaway in 1888 Inn

This is a wonderful place to explore the southern part of MDI. Close to Jordan Pond, 20 mins to Bar Harbor. Northeast harbor is a beautiful little town with good eating and shopping options. The staff was super friendly and responsive. Will definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at Acadia Hotel. Great location, nice service, and the perfect suite room for us. We went in the off season and the front desk was great at helping us with restaurant ideas. My note on not being responsive to my messages I would chalk up to being a hotel rather than an Airbnb. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Sunny Second Floor Room in 1888 Inn

Beautiful comfortable place to stay. Roomy bathroom with bath. Small kitchen with basic utensils which we used for a simple dinner one evening instead of eating out. We were tempted to make use of the fireplace because it was lovely but too tired after hiking all day!

We loved this cottage! It had everything we needed, was clean and bright, styled beautifully. We enjoyed borrowing records from the office to listen to. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. An easy drive to downtown and other points of interest. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Last minute ended up passing through Belfast for the evening and came upon this place. Great little getaway. Easy to get into town. Enjoyed that they had basic kitchen ware. Would recommend.
