Amazing remote location camping in the mountains with fantastic views. If you like nature and simple living you should stay here! The tent accomodation is really cosy and you may even share your bathroom with a few small frogs! The outdoor shower has a great view. Amila and team looked after us really well, Amila is very friendly and kind, a great guy to talk to. The food the chef made was amazing ( even if there was so much we couldn't eat it all!), especially as we were so far in the mountains and everything has to be brought in. Shermal organised us a guide to trek up Knuckles Peak 1 and 2 with wonderful views from the top. The guide was excellent with a huge knowledge of plants, animals and birds. It can be cold and wet so we needed warm clothes and rain gear one day, but the fire in the dining area is lovely in the evening to keep warm by. We loved our stay here although it is hard to find..luckily our driver communicated on the phone with Amila to get directions along the way.

Alba and her Partner Manolo were great hosts: always super helpfull, friendly and attentively. They gave us good advice and helped us with organizing trips to Sigiriya, Kaudulla, Dambulla and Pollonaruwa. To visit all this sites Sat Nam Village is the best place to stay! Cause after an exhausting trip you can relax perfectly in the beautiful garden in a hammock under a tree or in the brandnew pool. And don’t forget the fooood! We really enjoyed the rice and curry prepared by one of the lovely ladies who are working on the property! It was delicious. If you need some variation they also offer great Spanish food prepared by Alba herself! We totally enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back and can highly recommend Sat Nam Village for a cultural but at the same time very relaxing stay!

This was genuinely one of our favourite places in all of Sri Lanka. Incredibly peaceful and beautiful with a stunning view of the lake and just the sounds of nature. The room is very luxurious, from the big comfy bed to the beautiful bathroom with a hot waterfall shower, it was perfect! Madhu’s hospitality was expectional, we were so well taken care of and felt at home right away! We had dinner on the terrace by the lake both nights and it was the most delicious and varied local food we’ve had! The breakfast was also fantastic! One of the highlights was when Madhu offered for us to borrow her paddleboard of the lake where we went round the lagoon at sunset and saw lots of widlife! A truly exceptional place, would definitely recommend!!

We had such a great time at this place with my family. Our kids could play outside and we adults had a chance to relax. The whole host family were just lovely. Food was good, we got something for everyone (not an easy task). They helped us with everything we needed and were really flexible.

At first - super fast communication with host. It makes everything much easier! Thanks for that. Everything was good at the end, just a little minus - when we arrived at evening pool was dirty. Also on next morning there was varan (big lizard) swimming - but our kids will say that it’s a plus :)) After we asked about the pool it was immediately cleaned. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was really great. We recommend this place! No worries about the pool we swim and everything was good :)) Beautiful view!

Und hat der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen. Man wohnt direkt am Strand, alles ist sehr sauber und das Zimmer ist angenehm klimatisiert. Amanda und der Rest der Crew sind sehr sehr lieb und total hilfsbereit, wir haben über sie einen Ausflug zum schnorcheln gebucht nach pigeon Island (Schildkröten, Haie, Oktopuss und viele bunte Fische). Auch das Essen ist sehr zu empfehlen! Wir würden die Unterkunft auch jeden Fall empfehlen ☺️.

Follow the pin on google maps, it is where it says on the map - but no clear sign is visible outside the property. The property is close to the road, where there are a few restaurants and shops. It is very easy to get a tuk-tuk from the main road if you want to go further. Despite being close to the road, the property is quiet and very peaceful. It looks onto a small pool of water and is surrounded by greenery. There are some lovely quiet road to walk around and meander past the lakes. Very pretty and lots of wildlife. Sometimes it can get into the room too - we found the occasional frog or lizard bouncing around, which is fine for nature lovers like us, but might not be for everyone! The hosts were very welcoming, extremely polite and respectful. We highly recommend the food too - it’s delicious! This is a really well priced room in a quiet location. Only downside is a few noisy dogs nearby, they are loud but not usually aggressive.

Kandè was an incredible place to stay! Wow! We were blown away with the interior of the place and general feel. We were greeted with beautiful hosts and we learned so much from the host about history of sri lanka and her personal experience. We were lucky enough to have dinner there as well and it was probably our favourite meal of the trip. They do amazing authentic sri lankan food for breakfast and dinner. Everything about this place was perfect, we can’t wait to come back some day!

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit hoher Decke und großen Fenstern und einen schönen Ausblick auf den Fluss. Das große Bett ist sehr bequem. Leider keine A/C, aber in der Nacht mit Deckenventilator gut erträglich. Keine Kochmöglichkeiten, dafür günstige Restaurants in Fußnähe. Die Familie ist sehr nett - und bei Buchungsänderung unkompliziert.

Super Unterkunft. Schlichtes Zimmer mit außergewöhnlicher Aussicht! Amesh ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und die Kommunikation verlief einfach. Das optionale Frühstück ist sehr lecker und authentisch. Strände, Restaurants, Bars und Geschäfte sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir hatten dort eine gute Zeit!

My stay at Gileemale Walawwa was an experience that will not soon be forgotten. The hospitality that Ishantha and his amazing staff provide is on par with the Royal treatment that this property’s long history is known for. From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, our comfort and wellbeing seemed to be the number one priority. Given the property’s rich history of over 300 years it felt like a time capsule full of charm and personality of the past, while at the same time providing more than enough modern amenities for our comfort. Away from any and all societal chaos, Ishantha’s property is a true hidden gem while still being close enough to the town of Ratnapura for anything more you could need. The attention to detail in regard to the guest experience here is unmatched and I would love to return one day. Thank you Ishantha!

Unseren leider nur sehr kurzen Aufenthalt haben wir mehr als genossen. Die Unterkunft ist nicht weit weg von lokalen Straßen Restaurants und der Berg Sigiriya ist nur 10min mit dem Auto entfernt. Man wird mit feuchten Tüchern und Getränk empfangen. Extrem aufmerksames Personal. Man kann sich Tag und Nacht beim Personal wegen Problemen und allem anderen melden. Die Zimmer sind wunderbar. Mitten in der Natur, mit Balkon im grünen. Aber Achtung, da es sehr (zu) sauber ist, besteht ausrutsch Gefahr in der Unterkunft :D sehr schöne Anlage auch mit Poolanlage. Wir waren überrascht, dass das Frühstück inkludiert war! Es war wundervoll angerichtet mit Erklärung zu den jeweiligen (typisch Sri Lankanischen) Produkten. Wir haben uns sehr sehr Wohlgefühlt und das vor allem dank der lieben, aufmerksamen Mitarbeiter. Danke dafür nochmal.

Sam and Nilu are great hosts and they were attentive to us and provided us with everything we've asked. He was always around for us to ask any questions about any tips. They have gone beyond and done everything to give us a good experience for our little holiday. I can't highly recommend them enough.

Он невероятно добрый, отзывчивый и всегда готов помочь. Любой вопрос или просьба – решается мгновенно. Чувствуется, что ему действительно важно, чтобы гости чувствовали себя комфортно. Само место – настоящий рай. Из окон открывается потрясающий вид на сафари – природа просто захватывает дух! 🦜🌿 Комнаты просторные, стильные и очень уютные. Всё чисто, продумано до мелочей, есть всё необходимое для комфортного отдыха. Локация идеальная – тихо, спокойно, ощущение, что живёшь среди дикой природы, но при этом до центра Хиккадувы и пляжа совсем недалеко. Можно наслаждаться уединением, не теряя доступ к городской жизни. beautiful resort , a friendly and a warm host Mr Venu .. being a solo traveller vacationing , Mr Venu and his team ensured I was taken care of well even in terms of my safety .. the service is impeccable and the view from the lagoon is amazing.. I will recommend this place to everyone travelling to kalpitiya.. the location n accessibility is also very good 😊..

Ich war eine Woche in der Unterkunft und war sehr zufrieden mit allem und kann und werde es weiterempfehlen. Man hat einen wundervollen Ausblick und ist umgeben von Natur, man hört das zwitschern von Vögel und man riecht den Duft von Zimt und kann in aller Ruhe entspannen. Man hat eine großzügige Gemeinschaftsküche wo man jederzeit kochen kann inklusive Essensbereich. Da ich durch mein Online Geschäft abhängig von gutem und stabilen Interner bin war ich sehr erfreut dass das Internet dafür ausreichend war. Der Kontakt mit der Gastgeberfamilie war sehr herzlich und man fühlt sich willkommen und alles wird gemacht damit einem geholfen wird und das Essen war traumhaft. Vielen Dank für alles, ich werde wiederkommen.

Worth every penny, that was one of the coolest stays I’ve ever had. The place was great, I would highly recommend it, it’s right beside the river which soothes the soul and Lulls you to sleep. I have to talk about the service, wow, incredible, I felt like royalty the way I was treated, and the main gentleman I believe his name was Dithu? He was beyond amazing, he went so out of his way to make me feel welcome, secure and cared for. He truly was amazing, all the staff were! As well as the main lady, I can’t remember her name! They also told me about cricket and we watched the fame while they prepared me a feast. Thankyou everyone for an incredible and memorable stay.
