Perfect getaway spot for us. My 13 year old loves to fish and the spot was heaven for him. House was perfect for us and Henry was the best host , from communication and making sure we had what we needed to enjoy the home, he was awesome. Would 1000 percent go back! We loved staying in the bayou and doing the quick drive to the city. My son said it was our best vacation ever.

Met family and spent Thanksgiving together here. It was absolutely home away from home! The house was so well stocked with everything! Fantastic location and breathtaking views. Easy drive into town to stores and great local restaurants.

Beautiful property! I highly recommend staying here. Owners were very friendly and quick to respond when we had any questions. Great place to spend time with friends and family.

We loved our stay at Pelican Pier! Everything on the property was as beautiful as the pictures, all amenities were exactly as outlined, and there were many thoughtful touches offered by the host to encourage maximum enjoyment of the waterfront property. We have 4 boys (ages 8-14) and they loved the dock. We caught crabs, went fishing, and played on the small sand beach. It was too cold and windy to kayak but it was very tempting. The house has just enough common space and very nice bedroom arrangements for a family. Bringing an extra adult couple would have also worked. The house is not in a populated area - which we felt was part of the appeal! Slidell is close enough for quick trips. Downtown New Orleans is a 45 min drive but reasonable for day trips. We would definitely consider this property again if going to NOLA again.

Island Girl 2 was comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time fishing on the dock each day. It was nice to be able to spend time in the city but be able to come back to a place on the water to unwind. We would recommend Island Girl 2 and look forward to returning on our next trip to Louisiana.

It was a great experience staying there. Sheets were clean and beds were very comfortable. House was clean , showers were clean, even had a brand new dish sponge (nothing passed on from someone in the past). Awesome back deck with a great view of the lake, with a great dock. Highly recommend this place.

The home was perfect for our 4 night stay. Clean, cute, neat and cozy. Two of us, but room for a family. Loved fishing from the dock and caugh a few fish. On the rainy day we took a gorgeous drive Gulfport and Biloxi. The last morning we finally caught 2 crabs in the trap, so they were glad to go free. Location of this house is very private compared to others in the area. Slidell had great grocery stores. It's all in Laurie's book. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again. In addition, we met the owners and they are awesome.
