A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

We had an amazing stay here. The cottage is very comfortable and cosy and in a very remote peaceful setting. The hot tub was very relaxing followed by sitting infront of the log fire made for a very relaxing time. The special treats left by the owner for the dogs was a lovely touch and the gingerbread was gorgeous. We would definately stay again.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Paul & Debbie are amazing hosts who are willing to help with anything we asked. Although just a short drive from Newcastle, we felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage is gorgeous and extremely comfortable with everything you need including the most amazing private hottub. But the most amazing experience is with the alpacas who you can see from the cottage, have the opportunity to feed them and even take them for a walk which was just incredible. We were sorry to have to leave but will most definitely be returning! Thank you Paul & Debbie 😀

We had a brilliant stay at Hannah’s place, a comfortable, clean, well-equipped cottage within a (steep!) 10 minute walk of Richmond’s town centre. Despite the weather we managed one night of hot tub stargazing, which was a real treat. We managed to find everything we needed, and Hannah was a really responsive host, being proactive with welcome instructions, and quick to message back. Thanks for a great stay!

Just had a fantastic stay at Ivy cottage. Jane was a brilliant host with plenty of info on arrival. The cottage is so comfy and cosy. Added bonus having the games room, will 100% be back. Thanks Jane.

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣

After looking at the photos, we arrived full of excitement and we weren't disappointed. The place is stunning, and has plenty of amenities to keep a family or group of friends busy, even on days where the weather might not be great. The house is well equipped with everything you might need and has a nice home away from home feel. Mark answered our questions almost immediately, and was really friendly and helpful. Outside kitchen area, including pool / table tennis table and dart board were amazing and on one side of the accommodation. They were outside, but also had a roof to protect from the rain. On the orher side were the sauna and hot tub, which again had a roof covering so it can be used at any time. The bedrooms were very comfortable. One large room and one twin room on the ground floor along with a bathroom and the main living/dining area. Another large bedroom with a further bathroom upstairs. The main kitchen was downstairs via a spiral staircase. We loved it. 5 adults +dog

Lovely cosy cottage. Easy to find and has everything you need. Jenny is kind and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is well equiped and the area is beautiful. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely book again . Alison Crampton xx

A beautiful place to stay inside and out. The views were breathtaking! Our little dogs loved playing in the garden which was well fenced (even our mischievous Westie couldn’t find a way to escape!) The fire was such a nice touch, we loved having fires each day. Wood was supplied if you didn’t use the heating which was great! Coming from a city we don’t have a fire so happy to not use the heating! Kate was so responsive and really friendly. We even had some fresh eggs from her hens which was so lovely. We were thrilled to see the property in snow on our last night/day it really just rounded off our stay perfectly! If you are thinking about booking..do it! Also the shower is great! (Always something I judge! Haha) Can’t wait to rebook!❤️

What a fantastic place !! The cottage may be situated alongside a busy road but all is forgiven when you enter the house. A very homely lounge and an exceptionally well equipped kitchen/dining area. The bathroom is very spacious and spotlessly clean with a great shower/bath. The main bedroom has an enormous bed and comfortable beyond belief !! The smaller room has two single beds with a great view over fields. A true gem of a find and would recommend to anyone looking for either a short or long stay. Thankyou Steve and Lynn

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. We booked Christmas cottage as a last minute break away and it did not disappoint! It was home from home, very cosy and well equipped - loved the log burner and the lovely welcome pack. Ruth and Trevor were very helpful although we didn’t actually meet them they were very responsive and always happy to help. There are beautiful walks on the doorstep with breathtaking views and the pub is over the road. The staff there are very welcoming and chatty which was lovely! We loved our stay at Christmas cottage and will be booking again later in the year!

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Sunrise Cottage. The house was cosy, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Peter kindly provided tea, milk and butter which was so helpful. Would highly recommend and we would love to stay again!

We had a lovely, peaceful few days in Debbie’s cottage; very comfortable and cosy with fabulous views of the countryside. We appreciated the welcoming gifts of wine and chutney ( enjoyed with some local cheese!). Would definitely recommend the accommodation and location.

A very relaxing place to stay. The cottage is warm and cozy, and really well equipped. The location is fabulous in a little hamlet with a stream in front and beautiful views. There are great walks from the cottage. We had an incredible time, many thanks 😊

The directions Rachel gave us were very precise and we arrived without any problem. The cottage is very warm, cosy and super clean with everything you need for a pleasant stay. We had no problems but as Rachel is close by I am sure they would be sorted quickly. Lanchester is a short drive away and has a good selection of shops and places to eat.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Joanna’s cottage. What an incredible place it is. We wished we never had to leave. The photos do not do this place justice. The kitchen / lounge was just the perfect size for me and my partner and our 2 dogs. One of our dogs is a 13 week old puppy so it was really important to us that we had an enclosed garden and this was exactly what we were got. Literally the most dog friendly place we’ve ever been to. The fence is secured with chicken wire so the dogs can’t get through and plenty room for the dogs to chase each other round (which they did pretty much the full time we were there) and meant we could chill and watch some tv with the door open and watch the dogs play safely. Instructions left were really helpful for heating and cooler and local walks which he did a couple of. Egglestone Abbey was fabulous. Beds were really comfy and shower was amazing. We will 100% be returning here and have already recommended it to friends and family.

Lovely stay at the mouse house! Cosy, warm and clean. Super comfy beds and modern bathroom. Everything we needed for one night stay! Fiona even provided a travel cot for our little one. Communication was very quick and she even recommended where we go for dinner.
