As beautiful and peaceful as we were hoping! Such a great setting, very easy to find and super central to both Maya Beach and just a 20-min drive to Placencia. Publics grocery is 8-min drive south, and loads of close restaurants. We used the kayaks and even fished in them across the lagoon. Star gazed at night from the dock, and cooked in the fully equipped and stocked kitchen. Herbert provided absolutely anything you could ever need and then some. Seriously, not just sun block and bug spray, but like 3 kinds. Numerous different towels and beach towels, umbrellas, spices and oils/marinades in the kitchen, not only kayaks and bikes, but a fishing pole and net, multiple sizes life jacket, super strong WiFi, you name it. Great bathroom with big tub and strong water pressure. Sitting on the deck listening to the lagoon was mesmerizing. Obviously a lot of planning went into the thoughtful details and we absolutely loved our stay. Thank you Herbert!

Absolutely stunning home with a serene location! The home was spotless and better than pictured with beautiful views of the beach and ocean from every room. Albert and Francee were so kind and helpful they made us feel like we were in our own private resort. The owner provided great details and suggestions in advance of us arriving and Albert made sure to check in regularly during the week and give us lots of recommendations to ensure we made the most of our vacation while also making sure it felt like home; so much so that we were sad to leave. We’d recommend this location to everyone and can’t wait to return again in the future.

Our family of 4 enjoyed staying here during our first visit to Belize. The view and location are outstanding and the place felt very clean and well cared for. It’s the perfect spot to do various tours or nothing at all. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I cannot say enough how perfect this stay was. Great amenities, perfect distance from town for quiet and privacy, the beach is unbelievable, and the house is immaculate. Steven was so very helpful and responsive with the many questions I had and I'm very grateful for that, it really helped improve my stay and trip overall. The beds are very Firm and that is not for everyone, but also not uncommon for the area. We did not always have hot water but that zero bothered us since the weather is much hotter and more humid than we are used to...something to know, but it was not ever uncomfortably cold either. I cannot wait to return to Belize and would stay here again without hesitation, and want to bring my young child this time. Seriously cannot recommend staying at this house enough! We absolutely loved our stay here! It is even better than the photos. So private and spotlessly clean. The beach club and start of the Placencia boardwalk is about 0.4 miles walk across a not busy road and after having that separation, I wouldn’t want to be closer to it. We absolutely loved our pool and our snorkel tour guide was able to pick us up right outside our door in his boat! We had everything we needed, even the water is filtered and you can drink it right out of the tap. I would love to stay here again and Bonnie is an amazing host with lots of great recommendations and so easy to get ahold of for any questions. Thanks so much for sharing your space! I hope we can return again soon!

A true paradise! From the moment we arrived we were struck by the incredible beauty of this property - the architecture, location and genuine care and hospitality we experienced from the hosts. Thank you Cornel and Josie for making this home available to our family for a week in paradise!

The villa was just what my family needed. It was out of the tourist area and relaxing. The house is equipped with most everything we needed. The place was just as advertised. Great time and a bottom floor bedroom for privacy for my dad. Kitchen is remarkable and beautiful!!

We really enjoyed the Starfish Cabana! Right on the beach (it’s tucked slightly in from the other cabana, but still a great view and that actually made it more private) and in the centre of the village - we could walk to everything we wanted to do. Was a bit nervous reading that there could be noise from Ella’s cool spot as it mentioned in the listing, but it was really only noisy on Saturday night and the AC drowned most of it out. We would definitely stay again!

We stayed in the mermaid cottage and it was lovely, clean, and comfortable. But the true treasure were the caretakers, Jose and Sylvia. They were friendly, patient, and very very helpful. Jose gave us recommendations for very unique Belizean experiences that we never would have found otherwise and helped us with even our most high maintenance needs/requests with a smile. They both really went above and beyond and felt like family by the end of the trip. We I didn't particularly love the rain shower in the bathroom. One of us has thick curly hair and it was very difficult to rinse. It would be awesome if the hosts invested in a detachable shower head to go with it. Also a sad reality is that a lot of garbage washes in from the ocean. The caretakers do their best to keep it clean but it's a nonstop task and there are only 2 of them. I would love to see the hosts hire atast one more caretaker since it's a lot of property to manage. Otherwise no notes.

This home was so spectacular. There are 2 adults and 2 kids in our family and the size was perfect for us. A/C worked great on those hot days but the breeze from the ocean always kept us comfortable. The huge doors and windows looking out to the beach was magical. Beds were comfy, house was clean and neighborhood very quiet. There is a larger house behind this one that shares the property. We were there at same time as another family but we hardly noticed them. The hotel next door was great for meals when we were too lazy to go far, or wanted a pool to swim in. And their pier was lovely for a late evening cocktail. I would come back in a heartbeat to stay here. Also great food in Maya Beach. The Bake My Day bakery was great and walkable, Mango’s was a beautiful spot with great pizza and drinks, Maya Beach Hotel restaurant was also spectacular. I’d prefer to stay here rather than the busy hustle of Placencia for sure.

The cabana is the perfect size for 2, we stayed 10 days. Clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. We loved the deck, dock, and bikes! Next time we’d love to get a bigger group together and rent the villa and cabana.

Everything was picture perfect. It is a wonderful place to lay back and relax. Everything that you need is in walking distance. We walked a lot. Rented a golf cart from them for two days, but enjoyed walking more. Everything is local and there are great restaurants to eat at each day. Each day can be in a different place if you like. Went on a Mayan tour and was picked up at the bnb. It was a perfect vacation, can't say enough good things about the place. Not cheap, but well worth the cost!

If you're looking to experience real Belizean culture, in the best centrally located location, on the beach, within walking distance to everything, and the two best restaurants in the village right in your own hood, in the coolest AirBNB you've ever stayed in, stop researching now and just book this place. I said stop it. :)

Lovely, rustic River Cabin. AC! Beautiful river view, a very comfortable sitting area on the porch, but not much seating inside the cabin unless at the table. Remember your bug spray, and be prepared for a dusty, bumpy ride in. Nice birds and nice neighbors. Fun fishing trip on the Sittee River! Approximately 15 minutes into Hopkins Village, and close to Cockscomb and Serpon Sugar Mill. Tonya was very responsive.

The location of the three cabins on the river is gorgeous. Waking up to Toucans and Parrots and a myriad of other beautiful tropical birds is such a treat. We caught enough Snook to give some away and feed us multiple meals. Our cabin was immaculate and the kitchen amenities were complete and then some. We made fruit smoothies in the blender every day from produce bought from vegetable stands in town. Guides brought tourists up the Sittee River where we stayed. The screened porch was wonderfully comfortable. The town is a two-mile dirt road, just enough to make the cabin feel wild, but close enough to town for daily visits. It’s safe and friendly…old-style Belize. More bicycles than cars and almost no big resorts. Just family-owned restaurants and shops and homes with their doors wide open. It’s really inexpensive to eat out; the food was simple but delicious, a Belikan Stout beer cost between $1.25 US and $2.00. But watch out because their alcohol content is high. A rare find.

We were looking for a quiet, secluded spot in nature. We were happy to be on the banks of Sittee River. We were isolated but close enough to Hopkins for a daily meal and to get groceries. The entry was very detailed and simple. The communication was excellent..
