Very clear posted instructions with reminders around the house. We had all that we needed. The location is close to the state parks that brought us to the area. It wasn’t as secluded as we anticipated, but we enjoyed it enough that we would strongly consider for a return trip.

Great larger home! We had so much space and the house was well decorated and maintained. April was a great communicator. My family loved being there.

Another great stay at this home. Will continue to be back. :)

Beautiful home and property. My family spent a weekend here and lived the space. I’m hoping to return again when rather is a little nicer to be able to enjoy the outside just as much as the inside. The kids loved seeing the cows and horses and have free rein to run and play. The property is perfect for a secluded home away from home stay.

Dwayne and Darlene are awesome people made us feel like part of the family of all the Airbnb hosts I’ve met they are top of the list sad we didn’t get the contract we were bidding on was looking to spend a year there whenever I’m in Missouri I’ll stay with them or if I’m passing through we will say hello thank you both for everything 😀😀👍👍👍👍

We were extremely pleased with the house. The 2 boys had very nice rooms, they liked them! Our room was also very nice. It was a quiet neighborhood unlike many other places. Being a separate house there were no close neighbors to hear, especially in the late evening. It was a safe area to go for walks. We were very pleased with everything.

The low water bridge was flooded so Sharon met us on the road and guided us in the back way. She provided us with candles and flashlights in case the power went out due to the intensity of the storms. The house was clean and beautiful and I think we would have had an incredible weekend had it not been for the storms. You can’t control the weather though! Regardless of the storms we had a lovely time sitting together and reading and watching a little television. The rooms were clean and comfy. It was an incredibly welcome home! We ended up leaving early through absolutely no fault of the hosts. We just decided it was safer to get home before we potentially got stuck due to the flooding in the area. They were very responsive and accommodating.

An amazing place. We had both Shepherd's Place and Black River and could not have asked for more. Plenty of space and private bath for each bedroom was just awesome! Watched the eclipse outside and the privacy was incredible. No crowds! Thank you to our incredible host!

Extremely cool place to stay. Clearly, a ton of effort went into making this cellar so unbelievably cozy and hospitable. The decor is well curated, and I loved that they kept the bare stone wall in the shower! Felt like washing in a waterfall, haha. Kitchen had great, high quality cooking tools. Absurdly comfy bed with nice pillows. Overall, a great balance of historical interest and modern comfort. I DEFINITELY want to come back.

this was genuinely one of the best places we've stayed, I wish I could've stayed longer ! we got upgraded to the larger house, which was super nice! everything was clean, they turned on the lights for us to arrive, plenty of bedding and extras, super accomodating with an easy access shower and even a shower seat. they gave our dog treats and a little sign with his name on it, and food and water bowls. this was a very good stay and if I'm ever in this state again, I'll for sure go out of my way to stay here .
