Great Location & Cozy Stay – Just Watch Your Head and the Stairs The cottage is beautifully presented and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxed and comfortable stay. The off-street parking was a big plus. We stayed over Easter for a family event and found the cottage to be the perfect base—clean, comfy, and in a great spot. It’s an easy walk to Cuba Street, with Aro Café and Garage Project Taproom less than 150m away. We actually ended up having some of our catch-ups at the house—it was a warm, welcoming space where we could just relax and enjoy each other's company without feeling cramped. Just a small heads-up: the staircase to the two upstairs bedrooms is quite steep and may be tricky for anyone with mobility issues or sore knees. Also, the ceilings upstairs are a bit low—tall guests might find themselves ducking (not something I had to worry about!). Overall, a lovely little spot with loads of character.

A very homey and cozy cottage with incredibly accommodating hosts. Our interisland ferry was delayed and our host had no issues accommodating for our late arrival.

Great place to stay if attending the Weltec Institute for Laboratories, etc. It was close to town which has a number of great eateries, but ultimately it's a cozy studio for any situation with all the essentials.

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday at Louise’s place. Fish were caught down at the coast, we went for forest walks and enjoyed the wonderful views while relaxing. When the weather was sunny we ate out on the deck and enjoyed the sunny location while playing petanque. When the weather was not so good we played pool, darts and cards, and relaxed inside. The spacious layout suited our grown-up family perfectly - a great mix of communal and private spaces. Sitting in the bath looking out on view was a highlight. The kitchen was also well equipped and we cooked Christmas dinner on the deck barbecue. The driveway is steep but our Mazda 3 handled it fine. Overall, the location feels secluded, but close enough to Wellington for visits.

We loved our stay at Orongorongo Station. Everything was perfect. The setting and location are actually more picturesque than the photos show. The river at the edge of the property with the rising cliffs above is quite majestic and the beach and coast (a short walk away) is wild and stunning. There is also a lot to explore nearby. We particularly loved our walk around the headland to the Turakirae Scientific Reserve and seal colony and our walk to the swimming holes on the Orongorongo track. The house itself was also really fantastic - it somehow managed to feel both spacious and cozy. And it couldn’t have been cleaner or more well equipped. All in all, the whole experience was exceptional.

We had a great stay at Jason’s place. It had just what we needed for a short trip to Wellington. The central location made it easy to get around and was close to shops, cafes, buses and the supermarket. Thanks!

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Renee’s place! Super accessible (especially to my favourite yoga studio on Cuba street!) The place was also extremely tidy and clean, Renee as a host was also very accommodating and easy to reach. The place had everything I needed for a longer-term stay. Quiet spot despite the centrality of the location! Thanks a lot Renee, will certainly be back!
