We had a fantastic long weekend at this cabin and have already planned to come back next summer! Everything is as listed and we made some great family memories together. Fishing was great just 5 minutes across the bay and they have everything you might need onsite. A store (with LCBO ) and chip-stand are a five minute drive away as well. I visited with my 3 sisters and we plan to come back next year with our families. The cottage gave us enough privacy, stunning view, we used the fire pit. Pamela and Dan were incredibly welcoming. I drove into Callander briefly and it had everything we needed, as did our cottage. Wish the hot tub was working but that was the only thing I can think of. See you in 2024!

Easy key pick up through lock box. Place as advertised. Clean and peaceful. Right on the lake. Beautiful views all around. Cottage has plenty of space for large group. Four of us stayed and we would definitely come back again.

This was our second stay at The Canoe and it was fantastic, yet again. Always welcomed with fresh baked bread and treated to fresh eggs during our stay. The cabin is perfect for my family of four. It is super clean and well stocked. Looking forward to going back next year. ☺️

We had a wonderful stay and can’t thank Chris enough for being such a thoughtful and accommodating host. The place was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Chris went above and beyond—communicative, kind, and incredibly flexible, even allowing us a later checkout which made our last day so much more relaxing. It truly felt like a home away from home. This place had everything we needed,, hot tub, sauna, cornhole, kayaks, canoes, a crockpot in the kitchen. Shelley was more than accommodating bringing us gas, Renee’s salad dressing since I forgot mine. Then for some reason the tv stopped working and boom there is a new tv! I booked this place to celebrate my best friend’s engagement and held a small gathering there to enjoy a nice weekend at a cottage to relax. We immediately felt comfortable and right at home. We had everything we needed there, and very close to the town next store for grocery runs, etc. No issues or complications, check in through check out was very smooth and easy. I can easily speak for myself and the rest of my party that we had a great weekend. Overall an amazing find, and we’d definitely want to stay again. 10/10 would recommend. This cottage was the absolute perfect place to enjoy some down time as a family! The cottage was clean, well equipped and located on a beautiful, quiet beach. Everything we needed was provided and more! We enjoyed playing soccer on the large sandy beach, swimming, fishing, board games, campfires and watching movies in the evening. The kids and parents loved it!

Had a very enjoyable stay here! Loved the peace and quiet. The owner was great to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed.

We had a great time at Barry's Chalk river cottage! The house was spacious with a lovely kitchen, and a wrap around deck with a gate for the dogs. There is also a fully fenced dog run! A BBQ, Fire pit, and a beautiful waterfront all make for a relaxing, wonderful weekend! Thank you Barry! We will be back in the summer.

There’s not enough space to write how amazing this place was!!! It has everything!!! Amazing bathrooms, big tv, great open concept, beds were very comfortable with comfortable pillows and you can’t beat the sunsets from the house or the huge walk out!!Bojan, was so responsive and truly a great host!! I may be rambling but everything beat expectations!!

Beautiful place on Sausage Lake! The cottage and bunkie are very comfortable. Alot to do like fishing, kayaking, swimming, and the sauna was great! Our family had a wonderful time, and we are looking forward to next year and hopefully many more years to come! We made some beautiful memories. The hosts are great!

Christina’s place was a little slice of heaven! I stayed for a month and loved going swimming during the beautiful sunrises, enjoying the peaceful dock and relaxing. Also, as a mushroom enthusiast, this property had so many lovely sights - even a shrimp of the woods bloom at the end of my stay. Christina was so lovely and accommodating and really helped me feel safe and welcome. My cats loved the windows and bright open space. Would recommend this stay to anyone :)

It was a lovely place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped, and the barbecue was clean and ready to go. A very good spot with easy access to the water with water craft. Not too appealing for swimming due to weeds, but platform further out is available. I would definitely recommend it overall.

Best part of the cottage was the private sandy beach with shallow entry for the kids to enjoy. The water was crystal clear and very calm most days. The cottage was well equipped and everything was labelled and easy to find.

Great cabin, lots of space for a family of four. Super clean. Everything we needed during our stay was there, although you do need to bring pillows & blankets for the beds at the moment. Lake is beautiful and very quiet. Great fishing & swimming, and kayaks/canoes/paddle boat there to use. Nathalie and her husband were FANTASTIC, fun to talk to and are working hard all the time to keep things running so smoothly. THANK YOU!!

Dana's off-grid cabin is a hidden gem in my opinion. With so many options in Ontario's cottage country, this cabin checks all the right boxes. The property is HUGE, with panoramic lakefront views from the main house as well as the screened-in dining house (with fireplace/chimney!). The dock is easily accessible (small staircase down), with enough room for multiple watercraft for everyone to enjoy. The cabin itself is very well equipped and very comfortable. I'm sure you, your friends and/or family will really enjoy your stay here. Just remember it is off grid so respecting the house rules will go a long way to ensuring a great stay. This was my second time booking this property and it's on the list again for next year!

My friends and I had the best stay at Klaudia’s cottage. It was my friends’ first experience in Ontario outside of Toronto and it was a picture perfect trip. Klaudia was extremely helpful in her communications and when we had car trouble she called her neighbour to offer to help out. He was super friendly too. Aside from that and running into him on the walking trails we didn’t hear or see anyone else the whole weekend. The cottage is perfect for visiting. Spacious, homey and connected. Would highly recommend. And would love to come back.
