Our family of 4 loved staying on the island! It was definitely rustic living, but the cabin had everything necessary to cook, sleep, and enjoy the island comfortably. The scenery was beautiful and we spent much of our time in, near, or on the water. Donna provided a canoe and we brought our own inflatable paddle board. Both were in use often during our stay. The upstairs of the house would get warm on hot days, but cooled down significantly at night. The beds were comfortable and we had some excellent nights of sleep during our stay. Our dog vacationed with us and she was so happy to run free and wade in the water all day, every day. Donna was an excellent host. She was always available to answer questions. She communicated with us consistently and was flexible when we arrived later than expected. Staying by ourselves on an island was a very cool experience and we will fondly remember this unique and special place for years to come! Thank you Donna!

What an experience. Everybody should try this at least once! Renting your own private island made us feel like we were in a very private in exclusive place yet extremely close to things such as the boat ramp, restaurants, and other sights. You do need a boat of some sort, but that’s all part of the fun and experience! The house was well equipped uncomfortable. Swimming around the island was epic. It was a short 15 minute ride to get to sites such as bolt castle. There was also a great little restaurant in Rockport.

Phyllis, & her daughter Jennifer, went above & beyond to make us, our 6yo & 12yo, and our crazy Bernedoodle feel very welcome. They seemed very happy to have us, and even offered us many of their personal things and private areas on their property to enjoy. Unique & beautiful surroundings that push you to relax, with a cozy/charming/glamping-style accommodation that makes you feel at home.

Our stay at Benjamin’s private island cottage on Charleston Lake was fantastic! The island was stunning, and the provided water activities equipment was a great bonus. We loved exploring the lake, swimming, and enjoying cozy fires each night. Benjamin’s hospitality made our family getaway truly memorable. Highly recommend!

This was our first airbnb experience and this exceeded our expectations. Karen was a wonderful host, our communication started months before our stay. She has everything you could want, a real “home away from home”. I loved that she was dog friendly, and even left us some homemade brownies!

Fabulous location and spectacular views!! This lovely home was extremely well equipped and suited our family get together perfectly. There were ample water toys, kayak, boat, and mat as well as indoor games and a great indoor space where we spent some time on our one damp day. The kitchen was very well equipped, appliances clean and functioned well, and there is a nice barbecue. Maryville is a great village with super bakery and assorted shops, restaurants, and galleries. The long, sandy beach is a 30 minute drive away and $15pp and great for swimming. I would recommend and definitely return.

Came up for an anniversary celebration. Super romantic and cozy, very private. We only stayed for 2 nights, definitely wished we stayed longer. The island was insanely beautiful, we had a private little boat to ferry ourselves back and forth. We were here during the off season, so there wasn’t much to do on the mainland (except beautiful walks) - but, there was plenty to do near the cabin. I would have been content to even just stay in the cabin the whole time. Super easy to heat up, huge projection screen inside overlooking the lake. Hammocks everywhere, rope swing and outdoor gym setup. Would definitely recommend, we are planning a trip back in the summer when we are able to do water activities.

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time staying at the Stabbin Cabin with our dog! The island is absolutely beautiful with plenty of things to do and spaces to relax. Whether you’re looking to socialize or be left completely alone this is the perfect spot. We had so much fun at the main beach fire pit getting to meet some of the other guests staying on the island, as well as being able to enjoy a private romantic fire by ourselves at the lonely fire pit. Best airbnb stay we’ve had with our dog by far, highly recommend and can’t wait to come back next year

This is the second time we've had the pleasure of staying at Suzie and Jerry's place. It's a gorgeous spot, and the accommodations are topnotch (for one, I got home and realized I need to buy a new bed, since mine is not nearly as comfortable as theirs ;) Plus Suzie and Jerry are wonderful hosts – helpful, cheerful, and always available, while giving you the utmost privacy to do your own thing. It's a little ways away from the County proper, but really not that far! And spending time at the Mill is a treat all on its own. We spent plenty of time in the County, and were always happy to arrive back "home."
