One of my most memorable stays yet. The host was so kind and not only drove me from the station to the house and back, but also showed me around the area. The house itself is the reason I wanted to stay there because it’s created so beautifully and surrounded by artworks made by the owner himself. I felt really cozy in my room, which was actually more like a small apartment, and loved admiring the view of the lake from the balcony. There are a few nature sites, shrines and a beautiful beach in the area but if you’re on foot like me, you’ll have to count on walking a LOT. There’s not a lot to do in the neighbourhood but it’s definitely worth a visit if you want to spend some time in peace and quiet.

Great place to stay! Very welcoming and kind

We stayed in the Japanese style family room for 2 nights. Free breakfast was also a nice perk. For 2 nights this was perfect for us. The price was just right and gave us a unique experience. If this were a longer visit we would have been too cramped for space. But all in all - price, location and value were totally spot on. Checked all the boxes for what we were looking for!!!

One of my favorite places I stayed during my time in Japan. Waking up to see Mt Fuji was beyond amazing. The host was super responsive when we had some difficulty navigating the area. I would definitely love to stay here again!

This was probably the most comfortable bed I've laid in... this capsule stay was amazing and I wish I was able to have stayed for more than just one night. The amenities were great. I would definitely stay here again!

سكنت في هذا المكان خلال زيارتي لجبل فوجي وكانت تجربة مميزة بكل المقاييس. الإطلالة على الجبل كانت ساحرة وتضفي طابعاً هادئاً ومريحاً على الإقامة. الغرفة نظيفة ومريحة وتوفّر جميع الاحتياجات. جربنا حمام الأونسن في الفندق، وكانت تجربة رائعة ساعدت كثيراً على الاسترخاء بعد يوم طويل. وختمنا زيارتنا بتجربة ممتعة لركوب الدراجات في المنطقة المحيطة، وكانت الأجواء والطبيعة تستحق الاستكشاف. أود أن أخص بالشكر المضيف، فقد كان في غاية اللطف والتعاون، دائم الابتسامة، ويسعى لتقديم المساعدة بكل رحابة صدر. جعل إقامتنا أكثر سلاسة وراحة. أنصح بهذا الفندق لكل من يرغب في تجربة فريدة بالقرب من جبل فوجي، وأتطلع لزيارته مرة أخرى مستقبلاً.

“We had a wonderful stay at this apartment! The place was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Our 6-year-old daughter felt right at home, and the space was perfect for a family. Host was very responsive, kind, and made check-in super easy. The private onsen was absolutely amazing—so relaxing after a day of exploring. And the view of Mt. Fuji was breathtaking—we’ll never forget it. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches and clear communication. Highly recommended—thank you so much for hosting us!

A very kind host. The facilities are beautiful and wonderful onsen you can reserve privately each day. There are also bike rentals that were really great. Not a lot of food options close by, but this also makes it peaceful. You will have a great view of Mount Fuji from the deck if you get lucky! There is also microwave, utensils and plates if you wish to make or bring back food. There is coffee available in the morning. He was kind enough to do laundry for us as well. Highly recommend!

Awai is a hidden gem. Located in central Nara, less than 5 mins walk to Nara Park. Deer on your doorstep! The home is surrounded by great restaurants and cafes, too. We used Nara as our base as it was an easy train ride to Kyoto and Mt Yoshino (for Sakura cherry blossoms) and it was perfect. The home has stunning architecture, very well designed and huge - lots of space with two huge beds. Shoji, the host, is incredible - kind, responsive, and easy going! He even helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel. We booked for 5 nights but ended up staying for 7 bc we loved it so much! Thank you Shoji we had a wonderful time and will come back again!
