I cannot say enough about this wonderful mountain/lake home! There was so much to do at the home that we spent almost all of our time there…. Canoeing, kayaking, exploring, time on the screened porch when it rained…and more. There were an abundance of toys, games, etc for the littles and the adults enjoyed the beautiful views, surroundings and spacious, beautiful home. We often rent homes for our family gatherings and have always been pleased, but this home was just perfect in every way! We can’t wait to return!

Lonnie’s place was absolutely amazing! If anyone wants a gorgeous home to enjoy the beautiful Sapphire Valley I’d highly recommend this home. My family stayed there 8 days and we’ll definitely be back!!

At Greg's place we really enjoyed the location, house, surroundings, sauna, fire pit, lake, and all the local attractions in Brevard. Great place for fishing trip as well. Would like to stay again in the summer time to fully enjoy the lake and kayaks. Greg was very responsive. The 3 ring binder with instructions, local attractions, etc was very thorough and of great help.

The house was perfect for a large party. We arrived with 5 adults and 6 children. Everyone had a space, and everyone was comfortable. We spent 85% of our time on the screened in porch. It was perfect other than some of the furniture was not exactly comfortable. Everything is there for a large party. The kids especially LOVED all of the stuffed animals in the bunk room. There were toys, games and books for the kids, and I truly appreciated that. The views are stunning! We are already planning our visit next year! Thank you for being a great host. Lauri McKell

Our family had a wonderful Christmas vacation at Conntessee Falls. The home was a perfect location for our family to enjoy the hiking trails and waterfalls. And near by Brevard. The home was just as pictured, very comfortable and beautiful. The modern updates to rooms and baths were lovely. And for being pet friendly you would never know it! A plus for that! We look forward to hopefully returning again.

It was a beautiful place, with a stunning view of the lake & mountains beyond. Comfy & casual. The fireplace was a bit smoky but not too bad. Comfortable beds & small but nice bathrooms. Bebe gave us great recommendations for nearby restaurants & hikes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We would stay here again if we return to the area. It was very convenient for a visit to WCU. Plenty of space for the 4 of us and our pup, but still felt cozy for reading, watching tv or playing games. Quiet, clean, welcoming, all you could need was there.

I had a lovely stay. The home was very basic, but it was just what I was looking for. The lake is beautiful and very secluded. There was no soap or shampoo provided. There was also no sponge or dish brush, so cleaning dishes was tricky. And finally, there was no coffee. These are small things, but they are listed on the listing, so I did not bring any of those items.

The Cottage at Lake Lure provided unmatched views and a relaxed and peaceful retreat. Outdoor spaces are beautiful but unfortunately the boat house that was present at the time of booking had been taken down by the time of our stay, reducing the ability to be on the lake. Access to paddleboards and kayaks a plus and the ability to rent a pontoon was a wonderful bonus. Wifi access was spotty and phone service challenging - this provided some challenges to individuals who planned to work a remote day from the booking. Overall a great stay with fire pit, grill, time on the water, and gorgeous scenery.

One of a kind experience, the place itself coupled with the hosts' hospitality and responsiveness. There are truly limited superlatives one can use to capture the unique beauty and intimacy the property provides.

The Lake Summit Nest, Dock and Boathouse exceeded our expectations! It was truly a place where we were able to retreat and rest amid beautiful, tranquil surroundings. The accommodations were immaculate and the kitchen replete with every tool we needed to prepare the meals we ate there. Wonderful coffee, a fridge and cabinets stocked with thoughtful purchases enhanced our experience and enjoyment. There were dozens of special touches that only an empathetic host would think to provide that made our stay more convenient and pleasant. To list them all would be impossible. Melinda is a superb host! There’s so much to do in the area, as well as being a true haven of quiet rest. The boat dock, with its kayaks, SUP boards and opportunities for water play were great. My husband had fun catching fish from the dock and the kayak. We have stayed in many Airbnbs in the U.S. and other countries and The Nest will stand out in our memories as the best!

Absolutely loved our visit to Deerwoode Reserve. What an amazing space to unwind and enjoy the mountains! We loved everything about our stay. The directions and recommendations prior to the stay were very helpful for planning with two families. The bedrooms were perfect and we all loved the cabin feel. The girls enjoyed staying all together in the bunk room. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. The best part of the place is the 175 acres for exploration and play. Thankful that the kids got to be kids and unplug from devices. They kayaked and explored and swang for hours! We did several of the hiking trails and had nice quiet woods to ourselves. Deerwoode Reserve is only an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and close to the conveniences of Brevard’s downtown. We highly recommend it and plan to return again to make an annual trip!

My teenaged boys and I took our 9-month old lab puppy to the mountains for the first time. We were nervous about having her in someone else’s space and about her safety there. The bunkhouse was perfect for her- fenced in yard, fenced smaller run, and Ryan even provided a crate for us. He was very quick to respond to questions and was very helpful. We are bikers and hikers, and having DuPont 5 minutes away was great!!!

We had an absolutely fantastic time. The communication with Martha was smooth and prompt. We made some last minute adjustments, bringing our dog and grandparents and Martha communicated quickly back. Upon arrival, the space was clean and comfortable. The home is well appointed and you can easily stay in and cook for the entire family if desired. The amenities for the neighborhood were top-notch, we enjoyed the pool, gym, hiking, and golf. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards available through the rental. The location was perfect, with easy drives to downtown Brevard as well as Cedar mountain. We enjoyed exploring the area and found plenty of great dining and shopping options nearby. Overall, our experience was five stars. We cannot recommend Martha and their property highly enough. Thank you for such a memorable stay—we will definitely be back!

The large bedrooms were great, two refrigerators and stoves made cooking for a crowd easy. The property was beautiful and we enjoyed walking around it and playing in the gym. This place was perfect for our family Christmas gathering. Close to lots of great hiking and biking too!

Beautiful house in a pristine setting on a peaceful lake. Very quiet with a great view. Easy to find, close to town. Very comfortable. Kayaks were a lot of fun. Four outside seating areas, and a great fire pit.highly recommend.

Hosts were great at communicating and provided some great recommendations in the binder for the cabin. Cabin had everything we needed to cook all of our meals for our family of seven. Cabin afforded lots of space to spread out and offered some scenic views of the surrounding forests.

I cannot say enough about the beautiful views from the Little Log Cabin. We enjoyed the surroundings from dawn to dusk. The trails were amazing. My entire family and our dogs had a great trip running around the property! The hike to the top of the mountain was tough but we all enjoyed it! The cabin was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and seating! Can't wait to go again!
