What a great place! Really peaceful/private surroundings but close to town. The pool was great for the sunny days. And we enjoyed the large front porch during the rainy days. Close to many restaurants and the main strip. Helpful/responsive host.

Incredible and unique experience! Communications from Ozzie, Herman and Daphney were great. For a bit extra, Herman picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry dock in Utila in his dorry (small motor boat). He also included a trip the next day to Water Cay, which is important, as there are no beaches on Utila Cay. Herman and his family are among the friendliest people you'll ever meet! Lovely house, too! Important things to know: This house is not on Utila, but on Utila Cay, a 15 minute boat ride away. You'll need some way to get there—we used Herman's services. He can also bring you from La Ceiba, weather permitting, if you opt for that option. The house is likely the only lodging on the island, but the rest of the island is totally covered with houses. The islanders are lovely people and an interesting culture of their own, incredibly honest and friendly. The place is very safe. Utila Cay has several little stores, all just a short walk, and Herman has a restaurant.

A very nice place—clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location is simple and easy to find, making check-in hassle-free. The space is simple but well-maintained. Would definitely recommend!

A really nice space, private and gated courtyard felt very safe as a solo travelling female. Nice location, around a 25min walk to UDC (partly uphill on the way back) but 100% walkable I did it nearly every day for 3 months. If walking at night would recommend keeping a torch, for both the road and the path to the apartment, on you as there are occasionally leaf cutting ants on the path minding their own business the lighting is okay but could be brighter. Really quiet location ( jungle party once a month can be loud) compared to other places on the island.

Anchor Inn was a dream come true. We loved everything about the place. Private cabins with lots of shared space outside. Kandy and Carlos take excellent care of the property and the pool. We swam everyday and enjoyed the outdoor spaces so much. Tons of butterflies, hummingbirds and iguanas! As described in many other reviews they provide so much help. On-site water and laundry, weekly cabin cleaning plus excellent recommendations for anything else you could want or need. Kandy helps with everything and was always welcoming and caring. She even had a traditional dinner at her house for all the guests and residents! It’s very peaceful and quiet. It’s an easy 10 minute walk down the street to the center of town. There’s two small stores right down the block. I highly recommend Anchor Inn. You do have to pay for your own electricity as stated in the listing. It cost us about $20 a week for all of our basic needs. If you run the AC it will cost more.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Anchor Inn for a month. Kandy was quick to help us with getting power and water, and letting us do laundry. We loved the location because it was quiet and safe, but we still walked everywhere on the island. The pool was super nice after walking home in the hot afternoons! Great wifi too, even did video calls for work. We went to other friends houses in Utila and they all had bugs and roaches, but not Anchor Inn! Super clean, beautiful garden, hummingbirds, gecko and iguanas. Loved it all! Thanks Kandy and Charles!

We had a nice stay at Anchor Inn. The location is about a 15-minute walk from the main street. I worked remotely for our month stay and the wifi worked perfectly without any issues. We are traveling with our small dog and he enjoyed the walled, gated complex. Access to a washing machine was a big plus. We enjoyed our stay and would go back in the future.

Stood at casa Eastwind in June for my destination wedding. Location and amenities were perfect. Tony & Jo were so welcoming and made us feel like we were walking into our own home. Communicating with Jo was always quick and easy. Would definitely love to work with them again when we go bacon

This is truly a relaxing, quiet retreat. while you have the option of diving or kayaking... this is also an amazing location to relax. comfortable, peaceful, and on a cay full of friendly people. This is a great place. Quiet, peaceful, well set up in a beautiful surrounding. Marc is a really good host, friendly, responsive, helps out with questions and what ever to make your stay enjoyable. I enjoyed the 10 minutes away from town in his quiet acreage. Enjoyable to think about coming back.
