Isilda is an amazing host! She even saved my drying clothes from the Wind :) Our stay was great! The kitchen had everything you could think of and the bathroom was perfectly clean! Thank you, we will definitely come back!!

We absolutely loved our stay. Inge and Theo have done a fantastic job at creating a little haven in the hills. Our accommodation was stylish and felt very in keeping with traditional Portuguese dwellings. The gardens included pomegranate, peppercorn, olive, orange, avocado and almond trees and a range of fresh herbs. Our villa had two terraces and it's own outdoor kitchen area (as well as a well equipped indoor kitchen) and easy access to a shared beautiful large stone swimming pool and sauna. There are around 4 other properties to stay at in the grounds and provision for camper vans. We didn't hire a car and found getting around easy. There are buses to Lagos every 30 minutes (on week days) from the local village which is a 20 minute walk and we walked to the beach which is around an hour away. Taxi's were relatively inexpensive. At the time of writing it would cost between 10 and 14 Euros from Lagos to the villa. Inge was always very helpful if we needed anything.

Literally everything was great - very clean accommodation, all amenities available, the incredibly beautiful guesthouse that constantly gave the impression that we were in a wonderland. Nienke always responded quickly to all our messages and was there when we needed her. We are very grateful to her for all the recommendations and help. We really felt like we stayed at our friends' house. If it were possible to give more than 5 stars to this place, I would gladly do so. We would love to come back here again!

Wir übernachteten Ende September 1 Woche bei Luisa und empfehlen die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall zu 100%. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gemütlich und komfortabel. Der Ort ist ruhig, sauber, mit einer schönen Terrasse und verfügt über alles Notwendige. Das Einzige was ich verbessern würde, ist der Druck des Wassers in der Dusche. Luisa und Ihre Eltern sind super nett und sehr hilfsbereite und freundliche Menschen. Kurz gesagt können wir die Unterkunft zu 100 % empfehlen. Vielen Dank an Luisa und ihre Eltern!

This was a lovely hostel in a perfect location. The beds were comfortable and spaced nicely in the room so it didn't feel cramped and there was space for all our hiking stuff. I particularly liked being provided with fresh towels as hostels usually don't offer them. It was well designed all round with a lovely terrace overlooking the village and where we would watch the sunset, as well as a well stocked kitchen with excellent free food box. I really enjoyed my stay, it was peaceful and relaxing and highly recommend Hostel do Mar.

Ein Hostel, wo keine Wünsche offen bleiben. Zimmer voll ok, alles noch sehr modern mit wenig Gebrauchsspuren, Küche top ausgestattet mit angrenzender Terrasse und Aufenthalt. Bierkühlschrank fürs Siegbier gegen Einwurf von Münzen :) und Yogamatten und Blöcke vorhanden. Besonders gefreut hat uns, wie mit Lebensmitteln umgegangen wird, die man nicht aufbrauchen aber auch eher schlecht auf einer Wanderung mitnehmen kann. Dafür gibt es im Kühlschrank und in der Küche extra free food Boxen, wo man für folgende Backpacker Essen hinterlassen kann. Super Idee. Gerne wieder!

Super schönes Hostel mit einer toller Dachterrasse und schönen Gemeinschaftsräumen. Obwohl 7 Personen im Schlafsaal waren, gab es genug Platz für jeden!

Bon séjour dans cette maison d’hôtes

Really nice little hotel-style room on a quiet street near old town. Bathroom was very modern. Jose was flexible with our check in and waited for us. Parking right out front, free all day when exploring city on foot from the hotel.

7 dagen in de oude stad. met huurauto de fishermantrail punten bezocht Geweldige boottocht door de grotten. Tip neem een kleine boot, deze gaat echt de grotten in. Het vele klimmen in de oude stad vraagt wat conditie maar is goed te doen.

Foi impecável. Como estava imenso frio, o Cláudio teve o cuidado de deixar um aquecedor no quarto. Só faltaram 2 copos de vinho e gel de banho na wc. =P

Miguel’s places was so perfect. So easy to self check in and felt very safe because there is a code on every door. Such a perfect location walkable to anywhere you would want to go. And close to the beach (10 min walk). Amazing coffee machine!!! And every amenity you could need. I would highly recommend shalimar for some amazing Indian food and my sushi for an all you can eat. We had an amazing stay!

Ich war mit meiner Familie zwei Wochen zu Gast bei Conny. Obwohl wir sehr spät angereist sind wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen! Wir hatten Tomaten Feigen Paprika vom hauseigenen Garten bekommen. Die Garten mit Pool waren sehr Groß und sehr gepflegt, optimal für unser beiden Jungs um zu spielen. Zudem ist eine Gasgrill sowie Holzkohlegrill verfügbar. Die Wohnung war super sauber und die Matratzen sehr angenehm. Die Lage ist sehr da man mit Auto viel verschieden Strände anfahren kann. Lagos ist ca. 10 min mit dem Auto super erreichbar.

We had a good stay here. The home is divided into a room upstairs and downstairs which you walk outside to go between, we liked the setup because it offers each room privacy. The place was comfortable, clean, and even has A/C and heat which was a nice surprise. When we checked in the upstairs room did not have a functioning shower; the shower head was broken in pieces and sort of taped together, but came apart as soon as the shower was turned on. Took a couple days to get a response from the host on this, but for us it was not the biggest deal. There was sometimes a sewer gas smell in the bathrooms, but we noticed this in most buildings we stayed while in Portugal so I believe it is just a common issue in the area.

Nous avons passé 5 jours formidable. La propriété ainsi que le logement été parfait, paisible. Nous avons été touchés par sa délicate attention lors de notre arrivée, à l'occasion de notre anniversaire de mariage.

Ostello davvero molto accogliente e tranquillo, abbiamo dormito nella stanza famigliare e ci siamo trovati molto bene!

Pedro's place was bright and clean and comfortable. Communication and check-in were easy. Our young daughter loved the loft bedroom upstairs however, there is nothing to block the stairs so we had to get creative with furniture, and the stairs themselves are dangerously steep with narrow stair treads - be sure to use the handrail. The bathroom had a bit of a leak going on on the floor that was being kept at bay with a dehumidifier. Only other request would be for dish towels to be provided!

Stayed one night…great spot! Walking distance to the marina. I would come back!

Super séjour chez Frank! Sa femme et ses filles ont été très accueillantes. Le logement était super et correspondait à nos attentes. Le rooftop pour regarder les étoiles était un vrai plus. Nous avons adoré la compagnie des animaux☺️ Petit bémol pour la douche, compliqué de régler la température de l’eau.
