We have stayed many times at Jake’s place and always had a positive experience! Location: peaceful, beautiful outdoors, lots of privacy. The home: lovely fireplace, beds and linens are comfy! House is clean and cozy. Likely the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept it. The kids love: the bunk beds, the indoor pool And the chess table. We will definitely return. Thank you Jake!

I will say excellent things about this place. I will say excellent things about this place. Welcome to the schoolhouse, where the decor and environment remind you of days of yore. With a gorgeous views especially out the back and kitchen side, we enjoyed watching the sunset from the hot tub. We enjoyed an outing of a hike in the PawPaw tunnel, and had some food at Cheryl's Snack Shack. We were seeking a private place with easy access but felt remote, within a couple hours from home. We achieved that goal, and we enjoyed ourselves. Kitchen was fully stocked. Plenty of towels for the hot tub.

Susan’s home was immaculate - the house was even more beautiful and more private than the pictures — truly a mountain escape! We had a little difficulty with the garage code upon arrival, but Susan was immediately available and helped us get right into the house. We were thrilled with the quiet privacy, beautiful mountain surroundings, and the gorgeous interior. We loved the ability to run the wood stove on the colder nights (it even snowed the first evening we were there), the hot tub overlooking a rocky outcrop, and the pool table downstairs. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and more. Berkeley Springs was a little further than I initially anticipated, but getting there was an easy drive down a main road. Susan helped us with recommendations for things to do, since the weather didn’t cooperate with our original plans to hike. Be aware that the road to the house is a long mountain road and a little rough in the winter.

We had a lovely Galentines weekend here! The activities and amenities available made it so we didn’t have to leave to have a great time. The views are gorgeous and the house is well maintained. A rugged vehicle with 4-wheel drive is recommended to drive up the road to the house but my little Honda did ok. Overall, we would definitely stay again!

Came here from the Washington D.C. hellscape with my husband and preschool aged twins and it was absolutely wonderful. It was my first visit to Berkeley Springs and I can't wait to head back. I say this with reservation as an elder millennial who makes my young nieces and nephews cringe: this place has the VIBES. You can just feel the calm when you get out of your car and take in the rhododendrons and moss and sound of the wind in the trees. It has everything it claimed and so much more. The Roman Bathhouse was down for maintenance, but we weren't too upset about it since we could just watch some stars and planets align from our private hot tub. My kids prefer marshmallows our of the bag instead of the perfect roast we got in the fire pit, but we're all entitled to our own opinions. Thank you James, this will go down in history as one of our all time favorites, and we hope to return ASAP. I imagine it is even more magical in the summer when that outdoor shower is up and running.

Nice place to stay, plenty of space and rooms. Loved the hot tub we basically baked alive in that thing. We did have issues with the water not getting hot for showers and the water pressure being low & the hot tub water being low. We messaged the host and he responded in a timely manner sending out someone to address the issues. Nice and peaceful no one bothered us. We did move the tv upstairs to watch tv together. The wifi and service was very spotty. But other than that my friends and I would stay again. It was a very enjoyable trip and a lovely house.

Jennifer & Michael’s place is the absolute best for a couple’s relaxing weekend. We had booked in December and so thankful that they put up the Christmas tree. Beautiful decor, good energy and love the porch area facing the river. Jennifer is very responsive and sweet host.

George was great to work with. House was clean, safe, and had lots of space for housing our extended family over Thanksgiving, with ample parking. It’s not an inexpensive option, but my family loved it and all were comfortable and happy!
